When I volunteered for VITAS programs, part of the push was to get low income filers to make use of bank accounts instead of fee-hungry currency exchanges. Unfortunately, banks who agreed to provide banking assistance to low-income filers rarely sent a representative. Next year, individuals without employer-paid insurance will be responsible for paying their own insurance premiums. They will need bank accounts. We will be adding another middleman to the process and they don't work free.
