An Orlando man being investigated for alleged ties to Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was shot and killed during an encounter with an FBI agent late Tuesday, WESH Orlando reports.
WESH has more:
A friend of the suspect, Khusn Taramiv, said his friend, 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev, was being investigated as part of the Boston bombings and knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters.
Taramiv claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday.
“(The FBI) took me and my friend, the suspect that got killed. They were talking to us, both of us, right? And they said they need him for a little more, for a couple more hours, and I left, and they told me they’re going to bring him back. They never brought him back,” Taramiv said.
The FBI confirmed a person was shot and killed, but wouldn't give details on the investigation, according to WCVB.
"We are currently responding to a shooting incident involving an FBI special agent," FBI spokesman Dave Couvertier told WCVB. "The agent encountered the suspect while conducting official duties. The suspect is deceased."
John Miller, a former FBI assistant director now with CBS News, said Todashev was “someone (the agency was) looking at in connection with Tamerlan (Tsarnaev), based on contacts [he] had.”
From CBS Local:
On CBS This Morning, Miller said the man was being questioned by FBI agents because he had been in contact with Tamerlan Tsarnaev prior to the bombing, had been to Boston to visit Tsarnaev and had a trip planned to Chechnya.
Weird. And the conspiracy theorists will be all over this.
[quote] And the conspiracy theorists will be all over this
And why not? It's more than a little vague and suspicious.
Meanwhile, if snyond here looked at the overseas news, you'd see the muslims havde been rioting for 3 DAYS in Stockholm! Basically the Swedish police have lost control of those districts. The muslims own them.
Thanks for the link R3!
A gay person was once bad R3. I think that means you deserve to die.
I read about the Stockholm riots in a couple of places today, R3, but didn't get the subtext that it was Muslim youth rioting.
[quote]Weird. And the conspiracy theorists will be all over this
Damn those independent thinkers! Don't they know they're supposed to shut up and let Brian Williams tell them what they're allowed to believe?
R3, don't talk about things you know nothing about. That town is riddled with police brutality and poverty; unemployment and poor schools. The riots were done by youth, who were outraged over an old man shot and killed in his home by the police. Because you see, in Scandinavian countries that is a big deal, unlike in the US.
"FBI sources speaking to WESH said that Todashev, who is from Chechnya, "flipped out" during an interview and an agent was forced to shoot him."
That's weird, how he just flipped out. And it's too fucking bad they killed him, considering he obviously was sitting on information. That's just great.
The Muslims in Sweden have been harassing the Jews for years. The Jews are fleeing to Israel, this is no joke.
What do Swedish Jews have to do with the subject of this thread?
Ironic, R11, since it's usually the Jews who promote the "divide and conquer" policies of multi-cuturalism for everyone but themselves. Israel is a Jews-first, racist apartheid state but heaven forbid they should have left Sweden to the ethnic Swedes.
r14 Jews have been in Sweden since 1200. Go back to Stormfront.
All the news is focused on the Oklahoma tornado so this story isn't getting much attention.
[quote]Dead Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev and another man — who was killed by the FBI on Wednesday — murdered three people in Massachusetts after a drug deal went wrong in 2011, law enforcement sources tell NBC News.
[Quote]Sources say that what began as a drug ripoff ended in a triple homicide when Tsarnaev and friend Ibragim Todashev realized their victims would later be able to identify them.
Does this mean Dzhokhar wasn't involved in the 2011 murders?
Does anyone find it really odd that this man was killed during an interrogation?
The suspect took out a knife while investigators were questioning him so they shot and killed him. If this guy was suspected of collaborating with Tsarnaev (either in the earlier murders - which is strictly hearsay as far as we know - or the bombings), wouldn't the authorities have taken every precaution before starting their interrogation (making sure he was not armed, etc.).
Something is definitely not right with this story and the media barely asked any questions. In fact, this story seemed to be pushed aside on most media outlets.
Yeah R17, the guy only named Tamerlan as participating in the murders. Jahar may have been taken there by them to teach him a lesson regarding his disinterest in his religion and his drug use. It would certainly help to explain how a dope smoking, tweeting, average college kid could turn into a child killing terrorist.
Who knows, maybe Jahar named this guy and that is how they came across him? I bet he is singing like crazy to avoid the death penalty.
r18, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they don't frisk people before they question?
How did this guy come out of the bathroom with a knife as reported? Wasn't he searched when arrested? Something smells here.
This guy was NOT arrested. He was interviewed as his own home.
He wasn't arrested. He voluntarily complied with a request to be questioned. In that situation the FBI had no authority to search him.
What we have found out is the Boston Bombers had a large network of friends and associates. There are more involved you can bet on it including family members.
Tamerlan and his friend wouldve been so hot if the wouldve gotten nose jobs
Here's a list of what's true and what's truthiness. They're walking back the knife story. It's all very muddled so far.
Tamerlan's autopsy photo was leaked too. I think a family member or friend took the photo. I think it was leaked so that it could incite future violence, a you have to avenge his death scenario. I think the same thing happend here too.
I really have to give it to the FBI for trying (successfully?) to get away with this. Sometimes a motherfucker just gots to be dead.
For shame R30. Sometimes they simply kill someone who is a credible witness whose story does not reinforce the version they're peddling.
I do agree that the huge noses of both boys played a BIG role in their downfalls....
[quote]The riots were done by youth, who were outraged over an old man shot and killed in his home by the police.
You conveniently omitted the fact that the "old man" was brandishing a machete.
The photos were taken by his friend and were shown at a news conference by Todashev's father. He wants the FBI to say why they shot an unarmed man 7 times including once in the back of the head.
Rachel Maddow did a segment about it on Thursday. She talked about how the FBI have been very murky about what took place that night.
It's a good question, what the hell happened that night. Unfortunately, as soon as it's asked conspiracy theorists come out of the wood work with ridiculous notions that often shut down discussions.
I wonder how the perception of how the FBI handled the Todashev events will affect Dzhokhar 's case. If it looks like, or is proven, they lied.
[quote]Why do these terrorists have such huge schnozzolas?
I've never seen noses like that on anything other than an African anteater.
It's a fucking Flase Flag.
Deal with it!
Boston was just a Beta version of the martials law. Wait for the real thing.
R35, i'm starting to wonder if these Ruskie schnozolas came from cross breeding with a terrorist anteater!
This has turned into a ridiculous witch hunt and a hundred years from now, they will find out that the CIA used those brothers and they were completely innocent.
Todashev's family now says they have proof he was in Georgia at the time of the triple murder.
[quote]Rachel Maddow did a segment about it on Thursday. She talked about how the FBI have been very murky about what took place that night.
She needs to do a few more segments on it along with some other news shows.
They had the identity of these guys so quickly and with pictures even that I really didn't believe anything being reported. I know we have come a long way with surveillance but come on. And everyone just bought the story. Clear shots of these guys too. No one blocking the view of them from the camera. Really unbelievable, kind of like finding the a terrorists drivers license amid the rubble at the Twin Towers massacre.
There is a muslim problem in this country. We need to shoot first and ask questions later. If it's unpleasant enough in the US (obviously they hate Westerners, our values, our way of life, etc.), maybe they'll return to the poverty stricken wastelands that they call home.
r41 is nuts.
R42, you have no idea... They don't hate westernes because they're westernes and for their freedom, that's the most ridiculous lie ever invented. It's hilarious that US politicians could really say that and be taken seriously...
...especially after more than 50 years of involvement in the Middle East to get control of the oil and for other "national" interets (see: military industrial complex. That Eisenhower warned would become too powerful...).
America, the mighty superpower, thinks they can go and mess around in poorer countries without there being consequences. You know the most sure way to strengthen religion in a country? To have a common foreign enemy. Bush knew that all too well, too.
It should be considered fortunate that far from everyone down there has the revenge mentality. Most are just normal people trying to make a living. The war came to their countries (based on lies, and not even properly declared by congress, a legal war, as it should be according to the constitution), claiming too many innocent lives, caused destruction, made them poorer, "we destroyed your country, we'll help you rebuild it, you gotta pay us though" (defense contractors very, very happy, and everyone who invests in defense companies... among them congressmen. Congressional insider trading)... while the rich superpower USA and its people suffered no consequenses, living safe and happy in their homes. And still, after everything, most Americans don't understand or have any empathy with civilians in those countries. They're just born evil muslims. What do you think an angry, crazy with grief parent of a dead child thinks? Especially about a child killed in the utterly meaningless and deceitful war on Iraq?! Al Qaeda was to blame. Hardly anyone protests the use of drones, that has already killed hundreds of children in Pakistan and Yemen. But whatever, right. It couldn't possibly be the most ancient, primal instinct of the human, revenge, that drives them.
Funny how every terrorist or attempted terrorist the last years claims "revenge" as their reason, then.
From the article linked:
In the last several years, there have been four other serious attempted or successful attacks on US soil by Muslims, and in every case, they emphatically all say the same thing: that they were motivated by the continuous, horrific violence brought by the US and its allies to the Muslim world - violence which routinely kills and oppresses innocent men, women and children:
Greenwald lists attempted "underwear bomber" Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, attempted Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad, attempted New York City subway bomber Najibullah Zazi and Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan as examples.
"If the United States does not get out of Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries controlled by Muslims, Shahzad said during his guilty plea. "We will be attacking [the] U.S."
But Americans "they hate us for our freedom and our wealth, they live in ugly poor countries, radical islam, they should all worship at our feet at the same time as we kill as many of them as possible because they're evil muslims and we want revenge for 9/11, shoot to kill, people are born evil. if a country places military bases around us and took economic advantage of our country we'd not accept it because we're the best, but if we do it to others it's okay because...we're the best"
When you judge them look in the mirror too. America is a great country, but it's also a spoiled bully child who doesn't even see the consequenses of what they do. Also there's a reason the most peaceful countries on Earth are so; they respect the justice system and treats criminals fairly, fair trials, ask questions first THEN shoot, the government is in the service of the PEOPLE and owes them trust, not corporations.
"Also there's a reason the most peaceful countries on Earth are so; they respect the justice system and treats criminals fairly, fair trials, ask questions first THEN shoot, the government is in the service of the PEOPLE and owes them trust, not corporations.
And they come wailing to us when it all goes to shit, which it INEVITABLY does, oddly everywhere but here.
R45, who? I'm talking about the Scandinavian countries, the happiest countries in the world, rich, socialist... Norway for example wasn't even touched by the recession at all.
So I guess this is just your arrogance speaking, how surprising. Also you seem to have forgotten the American banks started the shitstorm. So nothing goes to shit in America? Right.
My, but what a special little snowflake you are, R42. And by "snowflake" I mean "racist, boot-licking Nazi".
