I saw this earlier and didn't understand why Shuster got so unhinged. Thomas Roberts was trying to cool things down but Shuster just got angrier.
Shuster must post on DL where people go from zero to 100 over [italic]nothing[/italic]. The kind of outsized outrage that clearly indicates mental problems.
Maybe he's a conflicted homosexual. He's seen the photos of Tom's fine cakes and knows he will never get to sample them.
I'm astonished how some relatively successful and intelligent people are so immature on Twitter. I've lost interest in quite a few people after reading the things they post.
My brother once told me that successful people are good at what they do; BUT outside of their profession, they're idiots just like the majority of people. I tend to agree.
My attorney friend is one such person. Very nice person, but quite oblivious. She couldn't carry a political discussion if her life depended on it.

Makes perfect sense to me.
It doesn't seem that Shuster can agree to disagree. It seems as if he has to win--and in trying to do so, he becomes rather mean.
Well, to be fair, Thomas did take a jab at Shuster's newest gig as radio host. That was a low shot.
Schuster was suspended by MSNBC for saying that Hillary was "pimping out" Chelsea during the 2008 primary campaign. He was let go soon after that. There are plenty of plain Janes and Joes on MSNBC, but Schuster seems to be implying that Roberts has his show solely because of his looks, since he has no head for political discourse. What a pity party.
What? Gay man taking a low shot? Like that has never happened before.
Is it Roberts fault if Schuster has a face made for radio, r7?
Thomas Roberts is not attractive
He is when compared to David Schuster.
r8 if you want me to be honest, I think MSNBC got rid of Shuster because he was so closely aligned with Keith Olbermann. Phil Griffin hated/hates Keith. Perhaps he wanted to be rid of the Olbermann legacy, and that included DS. Sure enough, after Olbermann went to Current, David became his chief go-to man. He even subbed for KO.
R11, and who is your modeling agency? Instagram?
They fired David Shuster because he went and filmed some test footage for a potential show on CNN while he was still under contract to MSNBC.
The Voice of the Night

That was only after Shuster called him idiotic and said he should leave politics to others "who know the basics". Shuster took the low road first. And a jab over a radio gig pales next to calling a colleague an idiot.
I like Shuster even more...thanks OP

BREAKING NEWS - People who choose careers in journalism are frequently sociopaths.
Girls! Girls! You're both chunky.
[quote] but Schuster seems to be implying that Roberts has his show solely because of his looks
They are both narcissistic douchebags.
r18 - people who want to be on TV, maybe. All
Someone on TV got their job because of the way they look?
Someone -- please -- pick me up off the floor!
Oh, R22. How naive you are. Because print journalists have never committed plagiarism or fabricated story elements or even entire stories? Yes, they're paragons of virtue compared to all those other smug, muckraking reporters.
Can you trust anyone who trades their soul to tow the party line on Fox news? Yea, Shuster is a douchebag.
Keith Olberman = Regina George
David Shuster = Gretchen Weiners
Thomas Roberts = Damian
Rachel Maddow = Janis Ian
Miss Shuster is a big raging CUNT.
Shuster is still convinced that Karl Rove will, in fact, be indicted within the next few days.
Shuster sounds like he has a very large stick up his ass...
the jealousy stick! It kills him that his ugly mug isn't on TV any more.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
