Looks like someone must have ruffled Miss Paltrow's feathers. Or no one simply cared that she was there:
Mr. Martin must have had a LONG night.
Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly has no intention of returning for the Costume Institute's annual Met Gala next year.
The star-studded fashion event took place Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Paltrow is sharing her thoughts on the whole affair.
"I'm never going again," she told USA Today. "It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all."
Maybe she's got a problem with punk theme? Or was too warm in her own Barbie-like gown?
People's most beautiful woman of 2013 was on hand to support honorary event chairwoman and pal Beyonce. And Paltrow was uncharacteristically covered up in a long-sleeve, hot pink Valentino Haute Couture gown with nude tulle around the shoulders that showed off her tan lines. Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who wore a floral Chanel gown, said "pink is the color of punk," but perhaps Paltrow didn't get the memo because she told Vogue that she totally ignored the theme.
"I guess it's punk in that I've gone just totally classic on a punk night," the "Iron Man 3" star said.
Her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, also attended, but the two walked the red carpet separately because they want to keep their relationship "private," Paltrow continued.
Paltrow also reportedly kept her distance from former BFF Madonna at the after-party, E! News reported, opting to spend the night bonding with pop star Taylor Swift, according to Us Weekly.
It's been a rough week for the Goop founder, who recently revealed a "humilating" secret on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" about her "Iron Man 3" premiere gown. And, on Wednesday, TMZ reported that her Brentwood neighbors are complaining about the gate to her home being too high at nine feet. Other celebrities in the neighborhood, including Harrison Ford and Oliver Stone, have six-foot-tall gates, and now Paltrow and Martin are being investigated by the Department of Building and Safety and could pay a hefty fine.
Well, perhaps they hate her 'cause she's beautiful
I've done an about face on dear Gwynnie. I officially like her. She's so out of touch, she's circumnavigated back around and is sort of in touch. Or something.
She was probably nauseous from seeing trash and ghetto Kim and Kanye there.
Twelve foot high gates in Brentwood? They don't allow three story private homes to be built there either. There are some weird restrictions in that part of L.A.
I wonder if she'd be singing a differant song if she hadn't been blasted for that pink monstrosity that she wore? 'Oops... I guess I wore classic on punk night??' Like she didn't know? The punk theme was big news, but I guess keeping up with the news is just for us commoners and not for her or her stylist. I think saying it was sooooo horrible and she will never return is the only way she can save face.
In other words, she didn't get enough attention while she was there.
It just wasn't a good night for Goop, especially since former BFF Madonna stole the show. And maybe even Goop's friend Beyonce. Madonna and Beyonce sat at the same table with Goop sulking in the corner. Also, Frank Ocean was all over Madonna at the party and had even tweeted "guaranteed selfie w madonna tomorrow" before the event. And then there's this funny story involving Goop and Miranda Kerr:
***But Paltrow didn't top Kerr's best dressed list. Instead, her pick was Madonna.
"I think Madonna was cool!" she told US Weekly.***
She really needs to shut the fuck up.
Her latest rant is trending on Yahoo!, and the comments are ALL negative.
Personally, she has gone from tolerable, to pretentious, to unlikeable, to extremely annoying, to SOMEBODY NEEDS TO SLAP HER FACE!
When I see her name anywhere now, I cringe. And she's even more hated now that she's "The World's Most Beautful Woman," which everyone is laughing about, from late night talk shows, to right here on Datalounge.
She could easily be the most hated woman in entertainment right now.
Not enough ass kissers at the met, I see.
"She could easily be the most hated woman in entertainment right now."
Apparently, her selection by People as the most beautiful woman in the world was not met with universal endorsement. Girls can be so mean.
Funny, but Gwyneth must have not been in a very "social" mood, because she was barely able to pit up with a photo with Taylor, who insisted. Taylor didn't attend the after party. She left the Gala early and alone. It get chilly in certain circles when you shit on Tina Fey & Amy Poehler.
I didn't even receive one compliment on my pretty pink dress. The nerve of these people.
Are peple avoiding me, or is it my imagination? Oh silly, of course it's my imagination. I am beloved.
Has anyone seen my husband Chris? Someone said he was frequenting the men's restroom. That poor man. I hope nothing's wrong with his prostate.
Oh well, namaste.
A DLer went to Spence.with her and said she was constantly befriending and then ostracizing girls. So lol at Bey and Madonna.
I loved the pink dress!
Could it have been a fashion brouhaha? AnnE Hathaway was there WITH Valentino. She wore a vintage couture Valentino, and was escorted up the red carpet by him. After her Oscar Dress mishap, this was a very significant gesture. Gwyneth only wore Valentino. (Yawn.) I much preferred Gwyneth's outfit in 2012.
No matter what comes out of Gwennie's mouth she comes across as an aloof and entitled cunt. Someone should do us all a favor and shove some goop in her mouth and shut her up.....
Anna Wintour's dress looked like my grandmother's housecoat/duster that she wore around the nursing home.
I hope she gets pancreatic cancer and dies. So sick of this BPD attention whore.
Vadge isn't her friend anymore, they are EX-BFF's. Gwynnie hangs out with Beyonce & Cameron now.
Was Beyonce the one that she gave the bj advice to?
I'm the first to jump on her usual dumbass comments, but in this case she's probably right that the Met Ball is torture to attend.
Actresses don't go for fun, they go for publicity and to suck up to designers. There can't be any straight men there, just anorexic bitch women and gay fashionistas criticizing each other's looks behind their backs. Heat, crowds, agonizing shoes, and if you eat or drink anything your designer sponsor calls you "bloated".
Of course, she wouldn't have bothered to point this out if the fashion press had liked her gown.
I found it interesting that her supposed BFF Beyonce was sitting at the same table with Madonna.
Well, this is all bullshit. It will all blow over. Anna Wintour and Gwyneth will have a nice long lunch and everything will be fine. Gwyneth just felt slighted for whatever reason and she was out of sorts. I do think the Gala has lost some of its lustre. it isn't nearly as exclusive and fashion forward as it used to be. It's more like the Vanity Fair Oscars Party now.
R21 Now if that infamous bottom/anal douching queen,Bryan Boy, was there I can understand her dismay. However Gwen is Queen Cuntbag personified so consider the source.
Whoever said "Pink is the new punk" was seriously disturbed.
ROFL. US magazine must really hate Gwynnie. They really bash her in the article, and they have links to other unflattering articles, including one entitled, "Gwyneth Patrow's Most Obnoxious Quotes."
Hilarity ensues at the link.
r19 whoa now that's low, but since she's only 1/2 Jewish she probably doesn't have the pancreatic cancer gene. She'll die of something goyish instead.
As much as I loathe Gwyneth, I too
would rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a tin.
"Even actresses that you really admire, like Reese Witherspoon, you think, 'Another romantic comedy?' You see her in something like Walk the Line and think, 'God, you're so great!' And then you think, 'Why is she doing these stupid romantic comedies?' But of course, it's for money and status."
THIS is why other actresses hate her. Not that she's wrong, mind you, but does she have to be so obnoxious?
I love the way she pays Reese (whom I also loathe) the backhanded compliment, "You're so great! But why are you doing these stupid romantic comedies?"
I don't think the star of A View from the Top, Bounce, or Shallow Hal has much room to judge!
I don't think the star of A View from the Top, Bounce, or Shallow Hal has much room to judge!
Don't forget the Iron Man franchise.
It's not as if playing Tony Stark's personal secretary is exactly Shakespeare.
Now that she's found out how much Robert Downey Jr. is making off Iron Man 3 she's a little 'out of sorts.'
Madonna falls out with everyone. I like Gwyneth.
That dress was fab. I don't get the Gwynnie hate. If I were stuck spending my evening amongst all that trash, I'd be a little perturbed too.
Vadge? The Kardashians? I wouldn't go anymore either.
Some of the things on my plate were touching each other. Sorry World.
R32 Not to worry. Goop will get her own super hero blockbuster movie franchise. Her friends told her she should.
Is Mr. Coldplay like this, too? Do the English DLers know?
She is saying a lot of nutty things to the press lately; it's like when Tom Cruise lost his p.r. person and we began to hear what was in his head.
Is there a lot of cheese sold in cans? I saw brie in a can once, and I think it was from France. I can't think of any other.
My god, so many celebs utterly failed at the punk theme. ("Look, I'm wearing a standard, boring gown with different, punky eye makeup). Madonna actually pulled of her look pretty well, as did Miley Cyrus.
Well, I disagree about Madonna, R39. I know I'm probably in the minority. But this was about the fashion influences of Punk, and IMO, Madonna was dressed for Halloween. She was in costume. She was not articulating the "influence of Punk" on fashion.
AnnE Hathaway and Mylie Cyrus came closest to doing that. As for the silly women who showed up in regular gowns and just greased up their eyes, all I can say is "Shame on you!"
I also thought Katie Perry looked silly in that Burger Queen costume. OTOH, She looked like she ripped off a Russian Orthodox Bishop to get her outfit together.
gwyn's jealous cuz she looked plain at the ball, while madonne shined. i say this as someone who hates madonna. madonna looked great.
What exactly happens at the Met Ball? Is there awards given out? Is there a program? Is it one endless red carpet? I can't imagine how they eat or dance in those outfits.
She's such a cunt.
As for the silly women who showed up in regular gowns and just greased up their eyes, all I can say is "Shame on you!"
Do you [italic]dare?!?[/italic]
She and Chris like to keep their relationship "private." Nonexistent is more like it. Why don't they just get divorced if they can't handle entering a room together? Would that hurt the image of Gwynie having the perfect life?
Someone at New York Magazine tried her recipes for a week and said it was obscenely expensive but many of the dishes were delicious--just nothing you would foist on friends at a dinner party.
wouldnt it be fucking GREAT if goop was walking down a london street in her working mum riding boots, skinny jeans, blush, and blazer and a homeless jumped out from beneath a dumpster and just fucking RAVAGED her, rolling around on the ground, whipping her ASS, and its all on tape..
wouldnt it be fucking GREAT if goop was walking down a london street in her working mum riding boots, skinny jeans, blush, and blazer and a homeless jumped out from beneath a dumpster and just fucking RAVAGED her, rolling around on the ground, whipping her ASS, and its all on tape..
ROFL!!! That would be fucking hilarious.
You just know the bitch would beat him within an inch of his life.
NO MORE NAMASTE FOR YOU!!
R43, its a benefit ball, featuring cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Tickets range anywhere from $5,000 to $25,000 per person, or you can be the very special guest at a table purchased up front by a corporate sponsor for $150,000 to $250,000. The proceeds cover the Costume Institute's annual budget.
Her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, also attended, but the two walked the red carpet separately because they want to keep their relationship "private," Paltrow continued.
What? How does that even make sense? You won't walk the carpet together in case people remember that you're married? SMH
Yeah. I've read that before about them not walking the red carpet together and wondered what that was about.
Is it kind of like parents flying in separate planes?
Why is Anna Wintour still alive and employed? Isn't it time that this complete and utter waste of oxygen shuffled off this mortal coil? Compared to this loathsome creature, even idiots like Gwynnie, Madonna and Reese seem harmless and mildly interesting.
Madonna dropped her like a hot potato and she's still butthurt over it.
She is about due for a breakdown of some sort. It would work greatly towards making the public find her endearing. I think she's too perfect...she needs to mess up that image a bit.
Gwynnie's gown looked like two halves of different styles put together, and it wasn't flattering. She also looked chagrined, like she was shrugging and saying "whatcha gonna do?" in every photo.
That she and Chris walk down the red carpet at different times is both strange and obnoxious. She must be absolutely intolerable.
Why is Anna Wintour still alive and employed? Isn't it time that this complete and utter waste of oxygen shuffled off this mortal coil? Compared to this loathsome creature, even idiots like Gwynnie, Madonna and Reese seem harmless and mildly interesting.
I don't get it either. Why is she still employed? She sucks and she has no personality.
shut up already Fishsticks we get it....your life is better than ours because you're rich. but white still cracks. hahaha! anorexic biotch!
btw Chris lets guys suck his cock because you won't.
I suspect it's because she's lived in London so long and it's spoilt her: London events are more fun because Brits don't give a toss, and there's a more fun mix of people than just celebrities and socialities that ranges from aristocrats to bohemians: rich, poor, the sane and the raving.
Most people don't care that she's married to Chris. If she really wanted privacy then only one of them would walk the red carpet. They can take turns or just have Chris be the only one.
R41 the ny mag critique of Madonna only proves my point. It was a costume. She could've worn it at one of her shows.
She can't shut the fuck up for two seconds. If she were actually happy, she'd go back to her husband and children and stay there. But I suspect even they don't like her much.
All of this ME ME ME BRAG BRAG BRAG covers a huge, insecure, desperately unhappy ball of need.
The proceeds cover the Costume Institute's annual budget.
What a wonderful, worthwhile charity!!
Starving Children in Darfur
r40, the point of the ball: to arrive in a COSTUME.
Madge didn't just arrive, she was THE favorite of the chair of the fucking event (who had 9 dates).
At whatever age she is now, I find it hard to believe that she is still so relevant.
Madonna, Miley & AnneE worked it best. With a good try to Debbie Harry. Why didn't Anna Wintour stick to the theme? I think some of the celebs (the Olsons?) are too young to even "get" what punk means!
What led to the Gwynnie Madge split?
I think some of the celebs (the Olsons?) are too young to even "get" what punk means!
No one can say that about Madge, however.
Madonna doesn't keep friends for long. She must be a handful.
I'm surprised Gwyneth didn't go with good friend Cameron who was paired up with Stella McCartney (who is also a friend of Goop). Stella also took Kristen Stewart for some unfathomable reason.
Tracey Anderson led to the Madge & Gwyneth split. It was a business partnership issue not girl stuff. Madonna is not a nice person. She is Queen Shit and expects everyone to lick her ass.
I remember when she broke up with Guy Ritchie and she really was distraught that he'd leave her for another woman. And Gwyneth practically camped out at her place trying to be there for her and support her.
I like Gwyneth. The problem is, when Gwyneth disparages Anna Wintour and the Met Gala, she is also inadvertently casting aspersions on the fashion industry as a whole, and the corporate giants and the wealthy who are heavily invest, literally and figuratively, in the Costume Institute.
So, I have to believe that since Gwyneth is very much plugged in to that world and its players, she would not have spoken out unless there's been a dramatic climate shift from some of the principals.
You know, in fundraising and event planning, there is a shelf life to certain events. You can have an annual whatever but at some point, times and cultural shifts may dictate that it is time to re-calibrate. Not necessarily to abandon the event, but to make it fresh and exciting again. The Met Gala has not changed in years.
No designer worthy of the name would ever speak out or challenge Vogue in this way, but perhaps are very happy Gwyneth did it.
R50 They got into a big fat fight over who had the more pretentious fake English accent. Too bad the paps missed it. It took place on Madge's palatial English manor and they resembled Krystle Carrington and Alexis Carrington Colby as they rolled about in the moat. The result was that Madge got to use the more fakier accent but Goop got to say the more disparaging things about Americans and their love of tinned cheese and what not.
R69 What exactly about Tracey Anderson led to the split.
Why don't all these people just go fuck themselves? Talk about stupid, ostentatious displays of wealth.
It wasn't Tracy.
who is the cunt who just said "i like gwyneth."? your post made me sick.
I believe the conflict between Tracey and Madge was because Madge expected Tracey to be her personal trainer and Tracey had aspirations beyond that. Madge wanted Tracey at her beck and call, to travel with her, and most importantly to NOT attend to other celebrities. Obviously Tracey and Fish Sticks went into biz together and the rest is history.
R66, Madonna dumped Tracy Anderson as her personal trainer around the same time she sacked Philippe van den Bossche as Executive Director of her Raising Malawi organization. Anderson, you see, was dating van den Bossche, who was in charge of Raising Malawi when millions of dollars in donations went missing. Gwynnie continued to be besties with Tracy.
Will the new year bring new hope for world peace? Ask an observer of the boutique celebrity gym scene and you are likely to elicit a mirthless laugh. Amid the heady scent of Chanel body spray and ruinously expensive cellulite preparations, a whiff of gunpowder is in the air. Early 2011 will see former locker-room buddies Madonna and Tracy Anderson, 'personal trainer to the stars', go head-to-head for high-end, hard-body-honing domination. For both are in the process of rolling out their own international gym chains. Anderson, 35, already has three North American studios. Next stepLondon, she tells ES. But Madonna boasts that her own Hard Candy project is 'the most anticipated new fitness club in history'. A disturbingly muscled arms race is on.
How could it have come to this? It seems only yesterday that the two tiny Titans were inseparable. Anderson, a five-foot-nothing blonde sylph, was credited with transforming the barely taller singer's half-century-old body into a machine capable of undertaking a world tour in hotpants and fishnets. Then, suddenly, the partnership chilled and they went their separate ways. In public they claimed that they were still friends. But their stories of other commitments and new interests didn't stack up. Now it's war.
As in other superpower conflicts, strategic assets appear to have played a part. In this case the loot at stake is Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 38, and the head of Madonna's Raising Malawi charity, Philippe van den Bossche. Once they were both devoted worshippers of the cult of Madonna. Then they moved into the orbit of Anderson, whose most remarkable transformation by far has been that of her own fortunes.
Barely five years ago she was a divorced single mother whose first chain of gyms had gone bust in her native Indiana. Salvation came in the shape of her patented Hybrid Body Reformer – a '1,500-move' machine built to her design by an engineer boyfriend – which she shipped to California for a new start among the beautiful people. Not everyone in Indiana remembers her fondly.
Her breakthrough came in late 2006 when a client, Paltrow's agent's wife, recommended Anderson to the actress, who had just had a baby and was struggling to lose two and a half stone prior to filming Iron Man. Dieting and two Spanx girdles couldn't shift it. But Anderson's regime did the trick. Paltrow was ecstatic, particularly with what Anderson had done to her butt. So the actress passed the word to her best pal, fellow American-in-London Madonna. Anderson had struck workout gold.
Madonna was soon exercising a near monopoly over the trainer's time and talents. The pair were reportedly working out together six days a week. Anderson described her as 'my most devoted client'. Alas, things began to fall apart in 2009. First there was unfavour-able press comment on the singer's arms, which flashbulbs rendered all muscle and sinew. Then Anderson caught the eye of the executive director of Madonna's own charity. She dropped out of Madonna's entourage for much of the singer's European tour to be with the suave van den Bossche. Worse, he then quit his LA-based post to live with her. 'Philippe and I have been together for eight months, and things are great,' Anderson trilled. 'I live wherever Madonna is, so Philippe is moving from LA to New York.' Her reasoning soon proved redundant.
Madonna was said to be 'disappointed'.Translated, that means planning a nuclear strike. Within weeks, it was reported that Anderson had been 'dropped'. A volley of anonymous sources and PR statements only served to muddy the waters. Someone 'close' to the singer was quoted as saying: 'Madonna had grown tired of the baggage that Tracy always seemed to be carrying with her. Tracy had grown to be more of a distraction than anything else.' Anderson's PR snapped back: 'This is not true. After working together for three years, Tracy and Madonna mutually parted ways because Tracy wanted to look after her son [Sam, now 12].'
This, too, appeared to be shot down by Madonna herself who offered a counter-explanation: 'I did not ditch or fire her. I simply wanted to try a new method of working out when my tour ended. We remain friends and I wish her and Philippe all the best.'
So Anderson was left with her original A-list client, Paltrow. And so devoted to her butt guru did the actress remain that she became a financial investor in the Tracy Anderson Method studio that opened in Manhattan (so far there are two others, in LA and a summer pop-up in the Hamptons). Last year there was even idle chatter that the trainer's snippy parting with Madonna had caused the actress to cool her friendship with the singer. In an interview with British Vogue, Paltrow lauded Anderson to the skies, while also remarking: 'Yeah, it's good that she doesn't train Madonna any more. It was too much. She keeps people waiting – it takes up your whole day.' Even more cryptically she admitted: 'Oh yes, I can be mean. I can cave in to gossip. I can ice people out and I can definitely harbour revenge. In fact, I'm having a situation right now with a friend where I'm feeling pretty angry. But revenge is corrosive and it doesn't make me feel good.' Was Madonna the 'frenemy' to whom Paltrow was referring? At the Diane von Furstenberg party at Claridge's last summer the two superstars were happy to pose together for photographers in what some saw as a staged 'reconciliation'. But speculation about the existence of a Madonna-Anderson rift will not go away.
When late last year Madonna announced the launch of Hard Candy as a future global chain, some saw it as a rebuff to Anderson's own ambitions, built on the Material Girl's original endorsement. According to a senior executive, the chain will be 'a reflection of Madonna's point of view and will reflect her input on every detail including music, space, light and other design cues. Madonna's touch will be every-where.' The first Hard Candy – motto: 'Harder is Better' – opened its doors in Mexico City in late November. Madonna even led an inaugural dance class. A second 35,000sq ft mega-gym is due to launch inMoscow in mid-March. There will be at least eight others in South America, Asia and Europe. A London branch seems inevitable. And this is where guru and former acolyte are likely to meet, mano a mano.
Anderson, who has replaced Madonna with the lithe and, at 33, so-much-younger Shakira as her A-list musical client, was in town last week to promote her new DVD The Tracy Anderson Method: Total Cardio Workout. On the cover is another breathless tribute from Paltrow: 'A miracle... you will see the results you never thought possible.' New girl Shakira also weighs in with: 'I love Tracy Anderson's Method! Her approach to exercise is smart, creative and empowering. I believe that Tracy can transform any woman.' Markedly absent is the endorsement that graced Anderson's previous fitness DVD: 'Tracy Anderson's Method has proved to be the best exercise program for my body.' Madonna changed her mind on that.
From the back of a limo somewhere in London traffic, Anderson spoke to ES about 2011 and that former client. Typically, she did not pull any pink-gloved body punches. She said she was preparing to launch a 'huge project' that had involved filming '11,670 butt lifts'. As ES's head was still spinning at the thought, she disclosed that she had also just designed a workout for Buttzilla herself, 41-year-old Jennifer Lopez. 'But the gyms are my passion,' she added. 'New York and LA both have waiting lists and people all over the world want access to my concept in person. I am sure London will be next. We already have trainers working here so it's the obvious step, and both Gwyneth and I love it here.'
Then she got down to the question of certain rival organisations. 'Expanding all over really fast is to me a bit unethical,' mused Anderson. 'Gwyneth and I are really taking our time on doing it right so that each place has integrity.' What then does she think of Hard Candy herself? A pause: 'It's like… I pride myself on inventing some new things. She is the queen of reinvention. I spent three years teaching her… I have shallow feelings for anyone who is not an expert in the field doing something on the back of their celebrity.' Ouch. Bring it on.
Anderson is a fraud who is hated by other trainers for her phony ideas.
The best thing the Vadge did of late was getting rid of the poison dwarf and Gwyneth. It did her a lot of good in many ways, her arms are not nearly so bad.
Those Hard Candy gyms though, oh my. The fans were super against that and the perfume (a no brainer).
Lord that article is tiresome.
She's just pissed she wasn't the center of attention and that Madonna (her ex-bff) and Beyonce (soon to be ex-bff) were chilling together all night long. I'm sure she feels "like, so betrayed" when "Beyonce should've known" how much "it hurts [me]" that "she would spend all that time with Madonna after Beyonce" knows "what she did to me."
Gwyneth Paltrow is trash too, didn't she service Harvey to get this oscar?
This astrologer says gp is the most annoying person - it's in her stars.
I think she wears pink to remind people she has an Oscar. We're supposed to be reminded of that pink trash bag she couldn't fill out when she won.
I can see why she was friends with Madonna - their obsession with fame for its own sake is unrivaled.
Her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, also attended, but the two walked the red carpet separately because they want to keep their relationship "private," Paltrow continued.
Is this the same Gwyneth Paltrow who dished out advice on television about giving her husband a blow job when she's angry with him?
Paltrow also reportedly kept her distance from former BFF Madonna at the after-party, E! News reported, opting to spend the night bonding with pop star Taylor Swift, according to Us Weekly.
That a 40 year old women would seek out the company of a 23 year old mean girl speaks volumes.
I think Madonna got tired of Gwyneth's need to be validated twenty four seven and the constant social climbing and putting on heirs.
Madonna has been terribly hurt by several people closest to her in recent years. Guy Richie was another one who ridiculed her in public at a time when her heart was breaking.
What exactly about Tracey Anderson led to the split.
Maybe one of them suggested to Tracey that she pay back all the people she's bilked along the way to fame?
I can't wait for Taylor Swift to start quoting Gwyneth Paltrow.
I liked her gown as well.
Anyway, this was the first year that I'd read about a "theme" that everyone was supposed to dress. In the past, wasn't it designers who were honored? and some women wore their designs but others, esp ones contracted to wear another designer, just wore what they wanted and no one complained.
The general idea is to wear super-editorial looks, not red-carpet or "safe" gowns.
This has been a PR debacle for AW. So many hideous outfits this year.
LUVED this from the article
"Madonna was said to be 'disappointed'.Translated, that means planning a nuclear strike."

US magazine must really hate Gwynnie. They really bash her in the article
They're People's direct competitor, and they read all the "Most Beautiful Woman" comments, too. It's counter-programming and it's very smart. People is a laughingstock to the general public right now.
What utter trash. Madonna climbed up the Temple of Dendur to see Kayne Wests performance. Real respect for a 2000-year old piece of Egyptian art.
She should have fallen and cracked her skull.
The best thing the Vadge did of late was getting rid of the poison dwarf and Gwyneth.
There's no need to bring me into this.
I don't really care who it sickens, but I like Gwyneth. I find her rants and her faux pas entertaining, and her Goop newsletter ridiculous and camp. When you consider her upbringing and her background, she is just who she's supposed to be.
You can always count on her to be herself and say unexpected things. She & I are never going to be BFFs or visit one another's houses. She's a celebrity. So what? I bet a lot of attendees felt the same way she did. Maybe Anna Wintour is the one who is over.
People is a laughingstock to the general public right now.
Not anymore thanks to Maxim's choice of Miley Cyrus as "Most Beautiful Woman in the Universe."
That chiffon strip made it look as if her skin was sloughing off.
Tracy Anderson did Madonna's body no favours. Her arms became grotesque under her training. I used to think maybe Madonna liked them that way, but it's looking more likely that Anderson had no clue how to work her arms without making them look too muscular.
I think her trainer tried to sabotage Madonna's career for whatever reason due to jealousy. Madonna is slowly and carefully adding some weight back and is looking a lot better.
Fishsticks Paltrow Martin needs to douche because her cooch DOES stink!
Not sure how making a commercial is why she's a cunt, R100. I think it goes back a lot farther and deeper than that.
I go back and forth on Gwynnie. Much as she annoys me most of the time, I do find her attractive in certain phases.
But Gwyneth and her husband's weird obsession over NEVER BEING PHOTOGRAPHED TOGETHER (capitalized so that you will understand the gravitas of the situation) just seems so self-important and oddly misplaced. WHO CARES?
I once saw a pap picture of them both ducking down in their limo after they left a dinner with Beyonce and Jay Z a few years ago. The caption said they DID NOT WANT TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED RIDING IN THE SAME CAR. WTF?
Who in God's name cares if there's a picture of a husband and wife together? Those two self important boobs need to put their energy into some other project than being obsessed with NEVER BEING PHOTOGRAPHED TOGETHER. What a ridiculously laughable duo they are sometimes.
I get the feeling that Mr. Poop doesn't want to be photographed with Yoko Poop.
Tracey Anderson had nothing to do with Madonna looking grotesque. Madonna over did the exercise, spending hours a day working out, not all that time with Tracey either. She did it on her own with other trainers.
She lost as much body fat as she could, thinking that would help. But it aged her, and exaggerated all her flaws so she looks about 65 yrs old. If she were 65 right now I'd say she looked good for her age, but she isn't. And she looks horrible.
Madonna cuts people off instantly when she feels like it. All you assholes dumping on Gwyneth sound ridiculous. I hope you know that. You don't know this woman personally.
If you listened to the tape of her interview with the Australians she was warm, open, funny and very nice. Dump on her if you like, because it's fun to you, and DL seems to bring out a particularly aggressive, hateful band of posters when it comes to certain celebs. But you're looking a lot worse than Gwyneth.
I know both her and Gwen through socializing and what I hear from mutual friends or people who work with them and I know what I know. Why do you always assume that we have no firsthand knowledge of what we're talking about? Yes, people call Gwen Yoko behind her back. Beyonce is sick of her and was relieved she didn't have to sit with her.
Gwyneth the peacemaker
The Madge-Jennifer feud goes back a ways, you may recall. A 1998 Movieline interview in which Lopez freely dissed Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Winona Ryder, and rival Latin bombshell Salma Hayek started it all. She called herself a better actress than fellow crossover artist Madonna:
"Do I think she's a great actress? No. Acting is what I do."
Madonna got back at Lopez at Donatella Versace's millennial New Year's Eve dinner party in Miami. Reportedly, Lopez was shunned by the Material Mom and her posse, which included gal pal Gwyneth Paltrow. Lopez arrived an hour and a half late at the South Beach mansion. As Versace got up to greet Lopez, Madonna purportedly announced, "Dinner's over now." Her entourage followed her as she left the room.
And of course, Gwyneth had her own reason for cold-shouldering J.Lo. "I swear to God, I don't remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association," goes the inflammatory Lopez quote on Paltrow, circa 1998. "I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work."
For years, Gwyneth stayed mum and let her Oscar do the talking. But she finally did come forth with a somewhat catty retort this year, when, in answer to a media question about her possible marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin, she pointedly remarked that marriage isn't something SHE takes lightly, so she wouldn't rush into a marriage only to rush out months later.
R108 And you know Madonna personally?
GOOP is fake as the day is long. And as much as she blasts Madonna, she had no problem treating people Madonna didn't enjoy like shit when she was hanging out with her. Like Rupert, you know she's beyond bitter that the gravy train didn't last that long.
It's always easy to blast Madonna all the time.
Goop shows in laborious detail Gwyneth getting fitted, made up, styled and dressed for the Met ball. Her wonderful life is about huddling with the team to get dressed and then going out and getting photographed at some dumb ass event where she can't walk in with her husband.
r109 more gossip please. Can someone who pays here please open a thread on this? Madonna, Gwyneth & Beyonce and invite r109 to post all her knowledge? This sounds true as the day to me.
