Do you salt and pepper your food before you taste it?
Wow, this site sure is getting boring.
Bad manners to do so, I was taught.
Shouldn't it be bad manners to do it after you taste it?
"This food tastes like shit, maybe dumping some seasoning over it will stop me from vomiting all over my caftan."
Try Tones "Rosemary and Garlic" seasoning. You will never go back to salt again.
I do it all the time. One time at a dinner party I dumped a whole bottle of soy sauce on a dish.
Cooking, yes. Eating, no,
$18 well spent, OP.
Oh, you remember us?
Ah, push it - push it real good!
I was invited to lunch as part of an interview process. Was warned by a friend in HR not to use salt or pepper before trying the food. It shows you made decisions without knowing the facts.
I do pepper food prior to eating. I never salt food even after tasting.
People expect you to pepper food before tasting it. Waiters always come around with the pepper mill before you've even tasted the food. They don't wait for you to take a bite and then decide if it needs pepper.
I don't use salt except on french fries. I add pepper to eggs before tasting. I add Mrs. Dash to salads before tasting.
I like to bring my plate of food down to the corner and have the homeless piss on it first.
