If you're reading this thread, I'll assume you don't want to be surprised.
I won't post it here but if you want to read it - just look at the discussions for the film in IMDB.
It's not a big surprise, really. Post your reactions inside...
So, is it Khan or Gary Mitchell?!?
It's John Harrison. .. who is later revealed to be Kahn.
It's funny because he's been listed as such on IMDB for the whole time but the PR company tried to hide it to avoid the "Kahn can't be white!" blowback for as long as possible.
I wonder if that will backfire on them.
Ohere is what I heard...
Kirk dies but Khan's blood rejuvenates dead things. McCoy learns this earlier in the film when he injects a Tribble with Khan's blood. Khan gets away and the Enterprise is now ready to begin its 5 year mission.

What about Carol Marcus? Does she survive for the next sequel?

Does Chris Pine come out in underwear again?

This is going to be terrible.
r10 That sucks so no Chris Pine bulge shots?
I was mostly excited for a Chris Pine underwear scene. This is sad.
Does Zoe Saldana continue to kick ass as Lt. Uhura?
Why did they have to rehash Khan again? He was in one episode of "Star Trek" and one movie (granted, the most popular one). It's not like he was a major figure in the mythology that has to be included, a la Lex Luthor for Superman.
It may be good but it will never top "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" from 1982. And, no, I am not an elderghey. I just love that movie.
Spock fucks Uhura and his green cum burns through her face?
I'm looking forward to this, but I think it would have been more interesting to create a brand new villain.
The reviews are starting to come out and some of them are pretty scathing.
mr. beaks, a well-known frequent reviewer on aintitcool, thought it sucked.
I was raised on Star Trek. The TV shows? I've watched them all-- even Enterprise. I've seen all the movies in the theater. I enjoyed the first reboot movie. But I don't care about this movie and I have a really bad feeling.....
Average rating 7.4 out of 10 on Rotten Tomatoes. The reviews I've seen seem to think it's passable but nothing special, which is how I felt about the 2009 one.
Chris Pine looks to be a MORE than passable Kirk, to me. Near perfectly-cast, but for the blue eyes.
I love Star Trek and always have. My one issue with both the older movies and the reboots is that their mission has always been "to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... to boldly go where no man has gone before." Yet, they keep repeating the same old things and encountering the same life forms. I think the last new beings they encountered were the Borg, the Cardassians, and arguably the Baku in "Insurrection."
I was excited about the reboot and all of the possibilities, yet here we are with Khan and tribbles again. I know they have to go for what "sells", but can't they come up with something new that will sell?
