It is a detox agent. Anyone sip it? I need to purify before bathing suit season.
I have no knowledge of rooibos tea being a purifying agent. I just by it occasionally for something different. Lipton offers it as does Constant Comment, I believe.
Good rooibos is cool and refreshing in summer.
Bad rooibos smells like brewed hay.
Vile stuff. Tastes like grass piss.
It's a South African bush used as a tea substitute when tea was unavailable and enjoyed now because it has no caffeine.
I have no heard of it as a detox agent either.
I don't like it either, but Precious Ramotswe drinks it.
Are you planning on speedos, OP?
"rooibos" = "red bush" in Afrikaans.
Rooibos tea is beautiful shade of red.
[quote]I need to purify
do you not have a liver or kidneys?
Nothing like a nice cup of bush tea.
Seriously, that Precious Ramotswe series on HBO with Jill Scott and Anika Noni Rose was amazing. I weep that it didn't continue.
I loved that series too, r9. "97 per cent" was hilarious as the secretary. Too bad it didn't find a bigger audience. It made for a nice summer series.
Rooibus finest tea is from Madagascar.
It's not tea.
I just slapped OP's face
Can I give you mine? It's been sitting around a long time because rooibos is not exactly delicious. It's not exactly purifying, either, but since you think it is, take mine too.
I like Zhena's Gypsy Teas
I've read it has a vinegar like after taste and gives one a little buzz. True?
I was a fan of the Ladies Detective books long before the TV series appeared. I was shocked by the obviously gay character on the show; on the other hand, it was made very clear in the book that Grace "97%" Makutsi's brother had AIDS. Precious seemed younger on television than I'd pictured her, but her husband seemed younger than in the books. Go figure!
How do you pronounce Roobois?
By the way, I like iced Roobois better, OP.
I think something like: ROY-boose
Actually R19? It is pronounced ROY-Boss.
And buy the original South African produced brands, someone mentioned Liptons?.
There are entire cosmetic lines, made from Rooibos. Green Rooibos is actually more effective for detoxing.
Too much trouble and expense to have "original South African produced brands" shipped my little flyover country small town.
I don't like rooibos tea that much to bother.
Lipton's rooibos is OK for my needs and wants.
Thanks for the advice though.
OP inspired me to try some green rooibos I had lying around and that reminded me of why it is lying around. Pretty tasteless and no caffeine kick. feh.
