That's so weird. What triggered this? I had seen this in a couple of other posts but hadn't realized the DL was doing it. I just thought it was a running gag.
the word was constantly being bandied about. Someone would blame the f-m-inates for various problems in the gay community. Someone would reply to a thread with `you sound f-m-inate!` it was getting silly.
It would be great if these seemingly arbitrary examples of censorship on DL were listed somewhere on the board, but apparently that is too much to ask for.
The term that was recently being heavily used for a gay person that happens to also be an elder has also been banned. I'm not sure what they censor that word to.
And there is that one poster whose name is auto-corrected to two blank spaces surrounded by parentheses and separated by a hyphen. I can't think of what her name is though.
And my pussy still stinks!
You can tell a lot about the WM by the words he blocks: e-ffem-i-nate and elder-gay
and o bama bot... At least it used to.
Webbie is very touchy and sensitive.
After reading R17's post, I am yet again wishing there was a like/dislike type button on DL.
As there isn't, tick up to R17.
"wishing there was a like/dislike type button on DL. "
The dislike button is "close your browser window and go elsewhere."
The N -Word should have the same

You wonder how certain words are blocked out liek that. Was there a major senior citizen letter writing campaign to the Webbie? A lawsuit proclaiming alder-abuse?
Odd, I made a post as I am happy being an eld.. and being eff..
The post wasn't rejected, but has disappeared.
Love fem guys. Make great bottoms, especially if they moan :)
I'm still at a loss as to why R*chelle is banned. Even in the name of the city in New York, or the fictional movie/play from "Seinfeld."
R12, R27, As I have explained in previous posts, I was very new to posting on online blogs when I discovered DL. I regretfully used my real name, under which I have also gotten principal acting/comedy roles. Someone whom the police had previously warned me was so seriously mentally ill that they wished that they could "permanently lock him up and throw away the key, to prevent further threats to females employed by Democratic legislators," started using my name as the author of insane rants. I could not authenticate my name, so have been posting anonymously ever since.
Of course I had to repeatedly demand webbie to block the use of my name, as the abuser has still tried to use different variations in a vain attempt to humiliate me. I've even been blocked from DL's Facebook because I couldn't verify my true identity. Now you know why I'm trying to do everything that I possibly can to facilitate the destruction of cults like Scientology, one of the subjects that brought me to DL in the first place. It pains me to read bullying comments, especially from those who likely have once been harassed for their beliefs or for their identity (race, religion, sexual orientation, etc, at birth.)

"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
