Arizona Rep. John Kavanagh’s “papers to pee” has failed, but new legislation has been introduced in its place. It is being dubbed the “no loo for you” bill. The new bill will put transgender and any gender non-conforming people, like moms in sweatpants and a baseball cap or kids in soccer uniforms , at increased risk of harassment and degradation when they try to use a restroom or fitting room by explicitly removing all legal protections for them state-wide. It would permit business owners to discriminate simply because they don’t think you conform to their idea of how a man or woman should look or act. As more details roll in, we’ll keep you updated! The bill will be heard before the House Committee on Appropriations tomorrow, Wednesday, at 2PM in the House of Representatives building on the north side of the plaza in front of the capital. In the mean time, please write the members of the committee respectfully expressing your opposition to this hateful bill. (names, email addresses and phone numbers at link)
