I recall the good old days when Jessica Simpsons, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, and Madonna were most of what was playing on the radio.
Upon entering 2000, we were introduced to garbage like Kesha, Beyonce, Shakira, JoJo, 50 cent, Rihanna and Fergie. Music has sunk so low in recent years.
At least we've got Taylor Swift.
Obvious troll post OP.
Can't wait to see what music will come out in the 3000s
The good old days of Jessica Simpson!
Gurl, please introduce yourself to the Beatles and the Stones. Stat.
There is plenty of good music out there if you can bother to look for it.
"Gurl, please introduce yourself to the Beatles and the Stones."
This is some antediluvian dead shit, right? These are actual insects and objects for most of us under 30.
Please. You just didn't know where to look. The years 2000-2009 were a rich and rewarding time for music. Probably the best decade ever, in my opinion. A lot better than the 70s or 80s that is for sure. Maybe the 90s were slightly better than 00-09, but not by much.
The shins, belle & Sebastian listen to new slang and caring is creepy by the shins .... Belle &. Senastian listen to stay loose, wandering days are over, read the blessed pages step into my office baby, you don't send me didn't see it coming, the boy with the Arab strap , I'm a cuckoo everything they do is brilliant .

The fact that you consider Shitney and Jessica Simpson "the good old days" proves your taste in music is complete shit anyway.
The 90's (and early 2000's) were amazing. You could turn on commercial radio and listen to George Michael, Lisa Stansfield, Moloko, Bjork, and on and on.
I can't beleive the crap that gets radio play these days. Yes there's lots of good music out there, but it's no longer considered mainstream.
I agree with OP. Jessica Simpson and co.'s music was enjoyable and at worst enjoyably inoffensive background noise. The music of all those listed in the second paragraph is annoying, unpleasant sounding noise.
The late 90's had some great pop song's that 2013 is lacking.
Hate it when people call Britney Shitney. She's remarkably interesting.
1999-2001 was the absolute worst period for music. Boy bands, Ricky Martin, autotuned Cher, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Chrstina Aguleira ... barf. I stopped listening to the radio at that point.
R12 You do realize people are going to call her that even more now just to piss you off, don't you?
R13 I agree with you. It was around 2000 that I gave up on Top 40 radio completely and don't listen to it at all unless I'm in someone else's car and they have the radio on or if I'm in a store and they have the radio on. Otherwise, I just play my MP3 player with songs that I want to hear, not the shit radio chooses.

Why do you think it's worse than today, R13?
