My favorite kid actor. So good in Treasure Island.
Reading how his life turned out really broke my heart.
He was a cute kidnd a very good actor. Recently saw the movie he was nominated for--he was good! His adult life was a very sad story.

See, it's not just porn stars who die young.
Jesus, that's depressing OP.
Forgot to add I would never encourage my kids to go to Hollywood.

Love how the Disney Corporation cut him off for the crime of getting some zits. And pubes.

How did Hollywood eat this kid? He had parents and he was getting into trouble at 17.
Why can't people look at a brief career as a child performer as an added bonus in life? A chance to accumulate some money and use it wisely when the work dries up? Sorry it turned out sadly but not sure who is to blame.
When I was eight years old, I was planning to build a rowboat and row from the east coast through the Panama Canal to Hollywood where I could be with Bobby Driscoll. A diary entry of mine said, "I like Bobby Driscoll and wish he was 8. He played Jim Hawkins." Guess I figured I might forget who he was, but also that he was now much older than me. I didn't know at the time he was dead.
My father found the diary a few years later. He ribbed me about it but didn't dwell on the subtext, but I was embarrassed just the same.
I was lucky the rowboat went aground near Nassau and I was sent home.
You are so cute r8. I want to hug you.
Bobby Driscoll is the child actor Charles Crumb became obsessed with (somewhat dangerously, it seems) as an adolescent in "Crumb".

"The Party Crashers" was Frances Farmer's last movie.
