IN other words his agent told him to lose the turkey neck and that one Carey Elwes in Hollywood is more than enough.
He looks like crap, but he looked like crap in "Downton Abbey" too. I've never seen someone age as quickly and poorly as this man - compare his appearance in "The Line of Beauty" to "Downton Abbey" (and now) o see what I mean.
He's cute. You people need help.
I think he looks good...
He has great hair and great eyes ...
He's way better having lost weight and gone darker. I couldn't see what all the fuss was before. Now he's perfectly reasonable.
I sorta liked carbfaced Matthew.
He looks great with the new hair colour.
Much more fuckable now. Call me, Dan.
Huge improvement. I assume this is his natural color.
He looks better because he lost weight, not because he dyed his hair.
He looks good in both of them, but he looks gayer in the "after" picture . . .
So . . .
I voted for the second pic.
Looks to me that he might have had a small chin implant. Not just weight loss IMO.
Looks great! He must have been reading Datalounge.
Agree that he had some surgical intervention beyond losing weight. Looks like neck lipo, which was badly needed.
Calling Park Avenue Plastic Surgeon.. come in Park Avenue Plastic Surgeon...
He's definitely lost some weight - he almost had Matthew Broderick's body when he was in THE HEIRESS - but with the dark hair he looks like any number of brooding Brit actors, and that color heightens the pasty white color of his skin.
Love the darker hair.
Love the scruff.
Not happy about him losing the weight in his face at all.
Now that he's had the surgical jaw line improvement I'd love to see him with the blonde hair but also some scruff.
He was chubby in The Heiress which just closed on Broadway a month ago. How can one lose that much weight that fast?
I could take or leave the carbface or gaunter look in the more recent picture but I am a sucker for the dark hair/blue eyes contrast.
One thing about the thinner face though is that it makes his earlobes look fat.
He looks way hotter with darker hair.
He had a beautiful face and hair in "The Line of Beauty" but what a disappointment when his pale, lumpy body was on display.
I never thought he looked good on "Abbey" either.
Maybe he's just prone to weight gain.
He is his own evil twin!
I'd still hit. It.
His fuckability has increased at least two-fold.
The Dowager Cuntess
He definitely had liposuction on his neck-to-chin.
I'd have to look at his face in profile to determine if his chin had an implant.
Maybe he just lost weight.
Which hair color do you think is natural?
If he's a brunette, he was a "bottle blond" in Downton Abbey.
He has a very unfortunate mouth. It curves down when it should curve up.
How can anyone prefer the dark hair picture? It looks so unnatural. His eyebrows and scruff are light brown.
I wonder if it's just a great key light in that 2nd photo.
That's the overhead light that all the Holywood divas like Crawford and Dietrich insisted on to give them a proper jaw line and erase the lines from under their eyes.
They got so familiar with it that they could tell just by the heat of the lamp on their face if it was hitting them on the proper spot.
And here I was fantasizing about a thick blond bush down there; those eyebrows gave me a sense I was right. I still hope he's bushy.
Dan Stevens should become even blonder, wear makeup and full drag.
I'd even drive on the left side of the street to give him a ride in my van.
Like him better as a blond or not, the guy's got the gear. Like Edward Albee, he's adopted, I wonder who the real parents are; do they know of the child's success? Stevens was sent to public school, finished at Cambridge, almost got a first. He has done a lot of theatre in England. Met him in January during the run of the play. When I got over my wanting to throw him down on the floor and lick him all over, he turned out a good guy. He is GLAD-friendly, a good thing. No sun-tanned blond he, au naturale he'd look like many dark English from up north, no matter probable Croyden roots.
He looks better in the second picture, but would look better still if he had kept the blond hair.
[quote]He has a very unfortunate mouth. It curves down when it should curve up.
So does his dick.
He looks better now that he's lost some weight, although I'm not a fan of his new hair. It doesn't suit his face at all.
I prefer the blond hair but the jawline is an improvement. Now if only Chris O'Donnell would get the memo.
He's changed everything except the eyes! He was blonde or light haired in his previous roles, so maybe he is aiming to get some villain roles in some new action flicks? They always cast the Brits as the bad guys ...
Its certainly a contrast from his Li'ne of Beauty' days.
He looks like the love child of Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Damian Lewis in this one:
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
