Only love can break a heart. Only love can mend it again.
How can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again....
No, no, no R4. I disagree. Only time can mend a broken heart. Until then, though, I suggest Vicodin and old school Madonna music. Turner Movie Classics is also helpful. (But don't leave off the Vicodin. It's an essential ingredient.)
Open heart surgery.
Ice cream, porn, fleshlite and lube.
I take it back. If you can have the below, who the hell needs Vicodin.
Time, good friends and family who care about you. Keep active and be good to yourself, you will heal in time. Keep working out.
Fuck all that noise, R12. All I need is the guy in R11.
lol (r9) wish I thought of that.
Sauted with onions, fava beans, a nice Chianti.
OP, time is the best medicine. Having said that, you need to give yourself permission to feel bad and feel sorry for yourself. But here's the thing. Put a limit on it. Take yourself in hand and get moving. Do not wallow indefinitely. That is terrible and bad for you.
Keep busy. Keep your mind occupied. Avoid places wiht painful memories. Find new places. Explore. Establish new habits. Do good things for yourself. Like diet, exercise, taking a class learning a new skill. My last break up got me into a pastry class.
Volunteer. There are adult literacy programs and charitable organizations that need volunteers. The main thing is DO SOMETHING, don't sit and dwell on it. And put yourself in a position to meet new people. Not necessarily to hook up, but just to be social.
And for god's sake do not spend a lot of time talking about your heart break. Tough it out. Because the more you talk about it, the more you think about it. The more you think about it the worse you feel. Sometimes the only thing we can do, is live thru it.Be kind to yourself.
6 weeks of zoloft. Or prozac.
Best way to get over one guy with a new one
R20, you messed it up. The best way to get over a guy is to get under another guy.
That is so clever, r21. Did you make that up?
Some people need time to heal before starting a new relationship.
Valtrex and bourbon?
A romantically broken heart? I'm going through this myself. Fucking unrequited love.
You know, that chronic feeling of your guts falling to the ground, and always being on the verge of sobbing but unable to let it rip because you're just so damn angry that the person you care for so much is fucking someone else? That feeling of being lost in another dimension as your fantasy shatters, having no idea how you can possibly accept the truth?
Other than this current incident, it happened to me about nine years ago. When he got together with someone else, I was terribly depressed and slept maybe three hours a night for months. About 18 months later, I felt okay. Now, I don't feel anything romantic for that person and like him as a friend.
I keep telling myself (and hoping) that this time will be the same as that time nine years ago. It doesn't feel like I could ever get over it right now, but then again, it didn't feel like I'd ever get over it nine years ago.
So, I'm going with time as well, even though it seems there should be a solution that's more certain and offers quicker relief from the horrible, horrible pain. xo.
And I'll also add: it helps me to talk to a friends who is both sensitive and hilarious. Together, you can kind of take light digs at the lost object of your affection and make fun of the situation.
Then you can go in for a big hug.
I don't recommend overeating, drinking, drugs, or reckless behavior, because that's letting the pitiful feelings win.
Mending a broken heart? Wrote a song about it wanna hear it here it go...
out of sight, out of mind. dont look at or keep the things your ex gave you. and find yourself.
I'll let you know if I ever fucking figure it out.
Find a hobby that you can become healthily obsessed for. I bought a boat--had always found nature, particularly being on the water, very healing.
How does a loser ever win?
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
I wish I knew. I need help and nobody will help me.
Before I even think of starting a new hobby or a new goal in the wake of heartbreak, I have to write about it and talk about it with friends who understand. Otherwise, the hobby and/or goal crashes and/or burns.
2)Support from your friends and folk
3)Canceling your Facebook account (you don't want to come across the ex's posts and those of his friends and Facebook stupid suggestion to be friend... with your ex!)
4)Counceling if 1, 2 and three didn't do the trick
[quote]and find yourself.
this is true & very important
What becomes of the broken hearted?
Fuck, suck, lick, rim, stick every male orifice or throbbing member you come across. There is no need to cry over someone who was fucking some sad little twink/twinkette over you. The best way to forget an old lover is a new hook up.
Time and loving someone or something again.
Most important for me is to love, not be loved. Something I really only discovered in my 50s. Yeah I lost love again at 56- but it was not nearly as hard as previous times (a lot of the pain is ego- caught on to that too) because I have some much to love other than the one I lost. And that has abated with time.
But I know it hurts OP- get back out there in traffic.
I've been lucky enough to have fairly mutual breakups with boyfriends. What has hurt me the most is unrequited stuff.
Agree with R40- it does help to LOVE someone else, even if it's just in the form of volunteering for charity at first.
Fucking someone else (or multiple someones) in response to heartbreak does not work for everyone, though it can help the ego.
Get revenge on the person who did it to you, tell everyone that they are a racist, slash their tires, claim they abused you verbally and physically, etc. The usual.
