[bold]Still[/bold] eat at Chick-Fil-A? Why do you assume that any of us ever ate there?
OP, do you have a link to the decreased sales?
I thought its sales had increased due to fundy support.
I thought it was privately owned and we will never know what their sales are.
I have no problem with Chic-Fil-A's attitude about gay marriage at all. It's a private company and they're welcome to feel any way they want. That said, I don't eat there and don't ever plan on it, but I don't hold it against anyone else (gay or straight) who does choose to eat there. We can't have everything we want from everybody. There will always be those who are against something we do or want to do. We have to be willing to work around, over, under, or through those folks.
r6, Chick-fil-a gave money to support Kill-the-Gays bills in places like Uganda and also gave millions to make sure you never have civil rights. Fundies lined up gleefully to show their support.
I react the same way I would to a business that donated to support apartheid in South Africa or tried to support laws to ensure Jews don't have legal equality. With disgust.
Saying "some people just don't agree with us, and they have the right to disagree" misses the point entirely.
The chick fil a places I see all have bustling businesses with long lines. I doubt their business is hurting.
r6: Chick Fillet shill. Pay her no attention.
6% of posters so far are cunts! R6 and R8 are their nominal leaders.
r8, indeed. The Chick Fil a even here in Hollywood is booming with business
I'll have an extra pile of dog shit on my Chik-Fil-A, please!
It's true guys. Just because you want their business to be hurting doesn't make it so. Their excellent customer service and good food will keep people coming back, and that's just the reality.
r13, exactly!! gay boycotts are great for business
Well, Chick-Fil-A is not our friend.
But Google is.
There. That wasn't so hard, was it?
Like they weren't going to falsify that information, R15. I'll buy their success when they release all pertinent documents.
That article really doesn't prove anything, r15.
Leon at the Atlanta newspaper could be a ringer for the Cathy family.
I would love to see the Christmas present Leon receives from the family each year in return for good press.
Unethical, yes. Illegal, no.
It's a privately owned company, bottom line.
We don't want them to be doing a big business, R17, but the fact is their business is booming, you MORON!!!! Go jump in a vat of boiling grease.
It was depressing to see the lines of Fundies at the Chick-FIl-A in our local mall. I've been boycotting the whole damn mall because of them. I can't stand to see those Jackasses supporting that business.
Kill myself. R17? Lol, how's that for human compassion? I never once stated my stance on the whole CFila thing, but you automatically assume that since I'm stating the obvious (their business is booming) that I'm somehow siding with them. And you want allies?
This thread makes me crave Chick fil a I think me and a few of my gay non nelly friends will eat at the one on Sunset a mile from WEHO ha ha ha ha ha ha
the fact is their business is booming
Yes, that's correct.
I love washing down my Chic-Fil-A with a delicious colostomy bag.
R22, you're a decrepit piece of shit.
Who eats that shit anyway!? Gads.
The thing I'd like to know is, how healthy is their food? How healthy are the chickens that are used? I mean, is the greasy, fried, empty calories crap they serve any better than the greasy, fried, empty calories crap KFC serves? If the gay community wants to prove a point, maybe they should start emphasizing how unhealthy their food actually may be. Join forces with vegetarian groups to educate people about poor food choices like Chick-Fil-A. I don't know if sales are booming or are down, but if millions of people say or do a wrong thing, it is STILL a wrong thing.
Produce the documents from the privately-held company, R23.
Anti-foaming chemical no extra charge!
The entire Chick-fil-A fiasco, you see, is a total distraction to keep your hearts and minds occupied while the banksters steal your future. While you're debating the merits of chicken sandwiches versus gay marriage, you are being depopulated with GMOs, chemtrails, vaccines and medications. Your money is being eroded by the Federal Reserve. Your rights are being stripped away by Bush, Obama and whichever globalist puppet occupies the White House next. And believe me, the global controllers don't give a hoot whether you're gay or straight. You're all getting raped, Sandusky-style, regardless of your sexual orientation.
Let their sales boom, all the fools that eat there are being poisoned.
I think you're all missing the point of the Chik-fil-A boycott. We gays want you to eat there! Eat all 3 meals per day there! You might even be able to get a snack or two in, as well.
The more fried foods the fundies eat, the faster they get obese, develop type 2 diabetes and cardio-pulmonary issues, and die. And since the new guard supports marriage equality, it's a win-win all around.
Praise Huckabee! He'll be the patron saint of homos everywhere for this.
Documents not needed. Stand outside the nearest Chick-FIl-A and look at the lines. That says it all. It's a sad fact.
Documents are still needed, dear. Until you can stand in front of all Chick-Fil-A restaurants simultaneously, your anecdotal evidence counts for squat.
My local Chick-Fil-A is almost always empty, incidentally. The new nearby Panera has destroyed their business.
Still, document should be released by the company to support their 'booming business'.
Sales are definitely up. There is a Chick-Fil-A food truck in DC. Workers line up around the block for their food. The food courts at the malls are packed for their food. My office has CFA cater events and people gulp their food down like it is gourmet fare. I know a lot of liberals who eat there and rave about their food. People apparently love their food so much they don't care about their political activity.
r27, your strategy sounds elitist and will have no resonance beyond Northeast/Pacific city liberals who likely don't eat that type of food anyone. The Heartland of America loves this type of food and are unlikely to give it up for anything, even their health. Moreover, CFA has healthy options, such as their grilled chicken and unsweetened tea.
I haven't been to a chicfila since those remarks were made. And there is one right near my house that I would occasionally swing by when I was feeling lazy, better than most fast food, but never again.
Not surprised their business isn't suffering though, whatever, they won't get my money.
Queers don't matter- Feinstein licking his chops
I raped my grandmother
"There will always be those who are against something we do or want to do. We have to be willing to work around, over, under, or through those folks."
You feel that way, yet you have no problem with gays who continue to eat at Chic-Fil-A? I think you need your head examined.
r30 has it right.
Eat all the hormone-laden factory-raised sodium-chocked fried chicken you want. Wash it down with a soda and waffle fries while you're at it. Your homophobia and stupidity dies with you, so eat up.
Fundies lining up to order Chick-fil-a to show their gay hate is almost as good as fundies lining up to buy cigarettes to show their gay hate. Enjoy it, tools. And why not supersize!!!
r40, the vast majority of people patronizing CFA are not doing so out of hatred or political speech. They simply love CFA food more than they care about gay rights. That is not hate.
no, it's gluttony
R6 is further proof if any is needed that DL is now frauville. Pathetic.
In case you missed it, this is the must-read essay about why anyone with a brain, a heart, and a sense of decency should stop eating there and stop giving their money to Chick-Fil-A:
It's the ignorance of people like R6 that is the problem in the world.
Read this link for details on Chick-Fil-A's harmful giving (which, contrary to some reports, they have NOT stopped)...
[bold]The Facts on Chick-fil-A’s Harmful Giving[/bold]:
According to Chick-fil-A's own menu posted on their website, their classic chicken sandwiches are made with all the following chemicals and ingredients:
• monosodium glutamate (twice!)
• soybean oil
• sodium aluminum phosphate
• dimethylpolysiloxane (an anti-foaming chemical)
• high fructose corn syrup
• ammonium sulfate
• soy lecithin
• sodium benzoate
• polysorbate 80
• yellow 5
• blue 1
• potassium sorbate
Oh, and a little chicken!
As much as I love their chicken sandwich & I mean LOVE, from when the story broke to this very day, I have never eaten there & I don't intend to EVER eat there again !!
Good for you, R48!
What is OP talking about?
As are you, R25.
It's a fried chicken patty with with a pickle. Can't anyone else make this?
R34 is correct.
They are doing the same business as the rest of the fast food public poisoners. Dumb people eat dumb food.
It's a fried chicken patty with with a pickle. Can't anyone else make this?
McDonald's has tried, and failed miserably. Their Southern Chicken Sandwiches pale by comparison in the taste dept.
They didn't say they wanted to put gays in concentration camps, they just disagreed with gay marriage. Lighten up, you will enjoy life more.
r56, futile when you deal with flaming queens
R56, you're an idiot and you're wrong, and you clearly haven't read any of the links on this page. Educate yourself and stop sounding like a complete moron to those who actually know the facts.
No, r56 r57, they donate money to Ugandan gay killing pretty much the same thing.
R57 is the Stormfront Troll. No point in arguing with him. Just F&F and move on.
They didn't say they wanted to put gays in concentration camps, they just disagreed with gay marriage. Lighten up, you will enjoy life more.
Wrong. They donate money to organizations that support killing gays.
They didn't say they wanted to put gays in concentration camps, they just disagreed with gay marriage.
That's a big pile of bullshit! Their money talks much more than what they "say," R56. Donating to Fundie preachers who go to Africa preaching death to gays, isn't like some mild disagreement with marriage equality.
This is a company that may serve up some good-tasting chicken, but the profits help to fund hatred.
Just say "NO!" to the Chick-Fil-A hatemongers.
r60, is the angry black queen troll who hates women
They don't want us in concentration camps, they want us dead like they think the Bible says.
And it does matter. When businesses are free to discriminate it lowers the value of money...and work...for everyone. The same idiots who say "let any private business discriminate if it wants to" are the same libertarian morons who don't believe there should be federal money either, that all people should trade whatever privately printed money they find convenient. As if that hadn't been tried many times in history, to the impoverishment and detriment of all.
Cause it's good r2
R64. I wish I was as simple as you. Life must be easy.
I don't go there and they're not booming at the one near my place. They look as busy as any Wendys or McDonalds or any other fast food place.
I hear they've started taking people's names at the registers because they get so busy that they need to call your name when your food is ready.
Oh did you now?
CFA's brand rating is actually down. Their brand rating is actually below the average market number and has been ever since last summer. Which makes these numbers all the more interesting, and yes, their sales went up for several months before recently becoming more normal, yet still up from previous sales. And that's all that matters in CFA's eyes.
Chick-fil-A's sales are up as a result of:
A) Increased name recognition.
B) Homophobes eating there.
Remember too, the overwhelming majority of their restaurants are in the South and Midwest. Even with a declined brand rating, there are more than enough homophobic/apathetic people in the USA to eat at Chick-fil-A. But no self-respecting LGBT person nor so-called supporter of gay rights eats there. I know a fair few Republicans who won't ever eat there again.
Is your name, 'NEXT'?
So California CFAs are booming!!!
Raising Cane and Zaxby's sales are up, too. Chicken sales are up as KFC's brand is dying. All other chicken brands are way up. Chick-fil-A is now the most well-known countrywide chicken restaurant and thus sales will increase accordingly.
BTW, the biggest increase in sales hasn't been California........it's been the Midwest.
At UCLA Chick is doing great!!
But I thought you were a "bi femme", R63. Are all the voices in your head starting to confuse you? Now we know that the Bush administration did leave some children behind and illiterate.
What happens to this country now that you can no longer shame people or companies like chick-fil-a. There is no public shame. Anything goes.
If there were only a magic switch that would enlighten all the idiots of the world.
Every time there is a jab at CFA in the media it's just like ringing a bell for Pavlov's dog, reminding certain people to go eat there the next day for lunch. If people really wanted CFA's sales to slip, they would just stop giving it free advertising.
Anyone who eats at Chick-Fil-A is a fucking ignorant bigot and I have no tolerance for you.
R34 / R53 lies. I asked my DC friend about his assertion, and my friend claims that Chick-Fil-A does no better there than any other chain. Oh, and he's seen the food truck twice - both times it had only three people in front.
r80, you do realize DC is a big city and the CFA food truck parks at different sections of town? I have seen the truck, and indeed the lines are huge for it. Likewise, CFA seems to be the most popular restaurant at local mall food courts, including at Ballston Common Mall, Landmark, and Crystal City. You see young, old, black, white, and Hispanic eating there. I even see people who look stereotypically gay in line, and my gay co-workers often eat there. It remains a wildly popular restaurant. People love their food to much to give it up.
R63, you're calling out a troll? You're the biggest trollina on DL these days, the self-loathing closet case with an addiction to exclamation points. You're a joke. You're all over the closet thread bashing out gay people as flamers in every 3rd post. And you're all over this thread playing cheerleader for Chick Fil A. What the fuck is your damage?
I was shopping at a mall years ago with a friend who wanted to stop in and eat at Chick Fil A; he kept going on about their great chicken sandwiches.
We each got a sandwich. I ate mine, thought it was okay but no big deal and I've never eaten one since. I couldn't figure out why anyone would think it was that good.
Now that I know about them I would never do anything that might encourage them to stay in business.
I ate Chick-Fil-A for the first time since the controversy last week as my workplace used them to cater a late afternoon event. I felt weird but had worked all day without lunch and was hungry. I still won't give them a cent of my own money, however. It's the nearest fast food to my house and I used to go there probably two or three times a year.
Where do you work, R86? I'd complain but I work in a liberal environment. My co-workers probably know better.
I would never have eaten it, I don't care if I were starving. Greasy hate-based crap. You need to let your company know, r86, that is awful that they force hate food on you and your peers, r86.
I pity you people who have to eat this drivel.
I would be surprised if they can compete with their peers in fast food. They aren't open on Sundays, "the Lord's Day" so they are giving up all that revenue when Wendy's and McD's is open for business and serving customers.
I'm not gay, but I won't eat there because of their politics and I don't like someone telling me when I can shop/eat and when I can not based on THEIR religious beliefs.
Drivel is not a comestible.
Please share this... it's a cleaned up version (no more 'fillacio' reference in the title) of the must-read essay on why you shouldn't eat at Chick-Fil-A. Repost on Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Let your friends know how easy it is to avoid disappointing you, and instead, support you:
R81 simply does not tell the truth. That food truck, which I sneered at during my last trip to DC, was practically barren when I saw it. Notice how the cunt says that she "even see[s] people who look stereotypically gay in line, and my gay co-workers often eat there." How do people look stereotypically gay, bigoted Nebraskan? Aren't you just a beacon of tolerance, with your occasionally mentioned gay co-workers? Go back to your Melissa Joan Hart fan club and stop trolling the gays, dear.
R81 is the Chick-Fil-A paid shill.
r79, go fuck yourself Mary flamer
Going to Chick today with a couple of straight women friends ha ha ha
R96 is R81, using a proxy IP.
Bing "explosive diarrhea images" and that's what Chick-Fil-A does to my system.
Like you have any friends, Stormfront Troll.
Because of the cooking oil they use, R98?
Have no idea what ingredient causes it. Have been twice with the same result. Never again!
R93, chick is very popular. People are tired of gay activists throwing a HISSY fit whenever they don't get their way. Fuck you fags!!
F&F for R95 / R96 / R102
Already done, R103. Don't know how the moron found his way here, but I hope Webbie helps him find his way out.
R102 needs to be banned. This loathsome troll is all over every thread posting anti-gay garbage. Look for the multiple exclamation marks and bashing of out gay people. Loves to slur the "fags" and "fems" and is obsessed with traditional gender roles. Claims to be gay but not a "flamer". This troll makes many references to UCLA and So Cal, I'm guessing its some idiot college kid who needs a few more years of growing up, but this shit needs to be stopped.
They aren't open on Sundays, "the Lord's Day" so they are giving up all that revenue when Wendy's and McD's is open for business and serving customers.
Well, they aren't greedy like those other fast food joints you mentioned, either. Maybe those other places should follow suit.
Fuck you, R107. Seriously.
Fuck you, R107. Seriously.
And fuck you right back. Even more seriously.
F&F R107, a fucking idiot.
Go to hell troll.
F&F me for saying that Chick Fil A shows a lack of greed by closing their stores on Sundays? Fuck you, R110. And F&F for YOU, just for the fact that you're angrily and hastily jumping to some sort of unfounded conclusion. Go jump in a scalding hot vat of grease, bitch.
Yes, because it's not lack of greed you fucking moron. It's sanctimonious forcing of their religious beliefs on others.
It's not greed that keeps McDonald's open on Sundays. It's desire to serve customers.
Stop being a fucking asshat. Not everyone is Christian, and thank GOD for that.
YOU are the problem here, the hater, the moron, the person in the WRONG here. You make all sorts of utterly bizarre and stupid assumptions, and then feign innocence. FUCK you, you Christian bigot, and F&F for you.
You should stop posting now, while you're way the fuck behind.
R107/R111 - Don't you know you aren't allowed to have a different opinion on here without getting the old F&F? It seems a vast majority of members are wound a wee bit too tight and if they spent the same amount of time working on their personality disorders as they did advocating borderline militant agendas they would be much happier.
OH - I will go ahead and give myself the F&F you stale cunts.
Thank you, R113. YOU are making sense. That really is an unhinged psychopath at R112. I comment about Chick Fil A being closed on Sundays and now I'm a Christian bigot and an asshat? Ha! And this asshole wants sympathy? As an out gay man, it's people like him who make me ashamed.
Also, his thinking that McDonald's is open on Sundays AND 24 hours a day in some areas is solely to "serve their customers" is so naive that it's laughable. It's corporate greed, my dear. And Chick Fil A, despite who they may give their money to, is showing a LACK of greed by closing on Sundays.
Oh, and FUCK YOU, R112.
It seems a vast majority of members are wound a wee bit too tight
Truer words have never been spoken.
Yes, because it's not lack of greed you fucking moron. It's sanctimonious forcing of their religious beliefs on others.
Oh, stop talking out of your ass! Who Chick Fil A dontes a portion of their profits to is horrible, but you are just so full of hot air that I'm ashamed FOR you.
The founders of Chick Fil A are Christians, and as such, they have a policy that they are closed on Sundays. A), that is a good thing, because I'm sure their employees appreciate having a day off to spend time with their families. And B), how the fuck is it pushing thier beliefs on others? Particularly you, who would never even eat there anyway, so it in no way affects you. Get over yourself.
1. effeminate behaviour is a major cause of homophobia
2. effeminate behaviour by some gay men is the major reason so many boys and young men have problems coming to terms with their homosexuality
3. there is nothing homophobic about disliking effeminacy – on the contrary, since gay men are [nearly always] attracted to masculinity, effeminate behaviour is self-defeating
r111 - how awful to close Sundays as if Jews don't exist. It is subtle discrimination, if you ask me.
IM A PEDO BEAR!!!
R116, you're the naïve one. Being religiously sanctimonious and forcing their religious beliefs on their employees AND customers is nothing laudable. Why do you think it is? Care to explain that?
Is your position to just fuck anyone who works Sundays, who isn't Christian, or who wants to eat out on Sunday? Screw them, and that's a good thing?
Do you even think before you post? Are you even capable of thinking?
R119/R120 is our resident anti-gay homophobic asshole who has been spreading their vitriol on a bunch of threads.
No surprise this self-loathing asshat supports the Christian-supremacist moron at R107/R109/R111, etc.
A), that is a good thing, because I'm sure their employees appreciate having a day off to spend time with their families.
They're likely minimum wage slaves. They're being robbed of hours that help put food on their table and keep a roof over their head. What if they WANT to work on Sundays and have, say Fridays off? You make a lot of assumptions.
And B), how the fuck is it pushing thier beliefs on others?
Their signs say "CLosed on sundays so employees can be home with their families like they SHOULD be". It's sanctimonious and an implicit judgment on people who work Sundays. Never mind that back before I knew they were such an evil corporation, the only times I really ever had the time or desire to eat there was on Sundays... and obviously I couldn't. Their forcing their idiotic "Sabbath" nonsense on every potential customer. Never mind that not everyone has a family to spend time with (another arrogant assumption on the part of the owners).
Why are you defending these arrogant hateful asshats? Seriously?
So just to be clear, according to R107, if you're closed on Sunday, that's nothing but a good thing (apparently EVERYTHING should be closed on Sunday), and comes from a place of nothing but benevolence, obviously. In spite of any and all documented harmful uses they put their profits too.
While if you're open on Sunday (ANY place that is EVER open on Sunday), it's only out of pure malevolence and greed. Not because of, oh, I don't know, anything like customer demand...
R123-R126, while I take a moment to recover from the piss-yellow that you have inflicted on my monitor screen...
That you ASSume I'm a Christian based on a few things I said about CFA (and I made no definite stance concerning them, by the way), and that you are so easily incensed about it makes me feel kind of bad for you. I mean, how do you survive in the world with such knee-jerk reactions to such small things? It must suck being you. I mean, REALLY suck. And not just a little bit.
If you really want to do something about the cause, go out and do something about it. Picket. Make up a petition. Something. Anything. Because clenching your little fists and spewing forth a bunch of stupid rhetoric on a forum and getting all huffy and puffy with me isn't going to help bring CFA to its knees, and frankly, it's just a waste of time.
Oh, and one more thing...go fuck yourself. As for the rest of whatever it is you think of moi, well...
None of this makes a difference in the fact that you categorically declaring the fact that they're closed on Sundays being a good thing is completely unjustifiable and even insulting.
Why the fuck would you say something so stupid?
CFA is a Christiam business. Therefore, they close in Sundays in
Honor of God. That is their right to operate their business based in their Christian principles. I applaud them for closing on Sunday.
sO DOES God r129, business is booming!!!
I apologize DL, I wanted to abort R127 but I couldn't get the wire hanger up my cunt far enough to do the job.
CFA's brand rating is actually down. Their brand rating is actually below the average market number and has been ever since last summer.
I used to think the longtime DL'ers who ranted about fundie freepers trolling here were paranoid. This thread proves they were right all along.
The question is, why would the freeps want to waste their time on a gay gossip board that has, at most, a thousand or so members? Are they THAT desperate and insecure?
Because they are paid apparatchiks.
Usually they are paid by-the-word but sometimes by-the-post.
They are assigned websites to monitor and jump in with new threads and comments to existing threads that further their masters' agendas.
Its a tried and true method of viral marketing and image control.
Chick Fil-Atio will never be able to compete with the much more successful fast food chains because they aren't open on Sunday. Period.
If you are closed for 15% of the time your competitors are open for business and serving customers, you are handicapped to an insurmountable degree. Sorry, but you're going under....eventually.
First rule of business is to give the CUSTOMER what they want. No one who's jonesing for a chicken sandwich on a Sunday afternoon gives a God damn about some fundie business owner's beliefs. They'll just get pissed when they drive up and see Chick-Fil-Atio closed. Then they'll go somewhere else. Every potential Sunday customer will have their habit of satisfying a craving for junk food strengthened with a competitor.
That still doesn't explain why they would bother with a site that has (relatively) so few visitors, R135.
Plus, it only hurts their image to come here and have their bruised and bloodied asses handed right back to them. They just look like even bigger fools.
I assume they aren't just coming here for trolling, and their obsession with gay people and spreading homophobia/supporting homophobic people/groups is because they're hung up on their own sexuality.
In other words, they're closet cases drawn here by threads about porn, male celebrities, divas, old Hollywood, musical theater, cooking, decorating, etc...but they stay to spread their hate. It's probably a way to mentally distance themselves from "those other faggots" as well as penance for coming to an ungodly site in the first place. To get "back with God" they spread hate once the guilt sets in.
Or else they're just lunatic homophobes.
Either way it's not a very complex psychology. Fear = hate = shame...
Well, one of them is a virulent racist who likes to create multiple personalities. He was all over Azaelia Banks threads claiming to be a "bi femme" (and that's also the one who always rails against e-fem-minacy on different threads.) You can also tell him by his illiteracy, bad capitalization and multiple exclamation marks, "you rock!", etc. I don't think that creature is paid, he's way too stupid and ineloquent.
I love how they spin and twist logic to say that the "closed on Sunday" policy is a kindness to their employees. No it isn't. I have a small business and I'm open EVERY DAY for my customers. And guess what, all my employees get two days off a week, one of them a Sat or Sun (their choice). Many folks want to work Sunday's because they would rather have a week-day off (to attend school events, etc).
So Chick-Fil-Atio is deciding for their employees that Sunday should be their "day of rest" because of THEIR belief in the Lord's day. Well maybe their employees have a different view/belief and would like to have off every Saturday or Wednesday?
You know, the U.S. Postal Service didn't randomly pick Sunday to be the day they're closed either. Considering being on a Sunday can postpone the inauguration of the president, it's a wonder more places aren't closed on that day.
r142. Back in the olden day,
Ike when Kennedy was president, practically everything was closed on Sundays. I think churches and restaurants were the only things open. If you spent the day doing work around your house, maybe you needed a screw driver or some lawn fertilizer, you were out of luck. No place to buy that was open.
My mother used to tell me that even most restaurants were closed on Sunday.
When she was younger her family would go Chinese on Sunday because those places are run by heathens and are open 7 days a week.
Hey, guess what? It's not the 1950s anymore. We are a diverse country with many different religions; not all observe Sunday as their holy day. We are also (for now at least) a secular country. The number of people who identify as atheist, agnostic or "no religion" has risen, and continues to rise. Sunday is not a holy day for us. It's the second half of a too-short weekend. You may spend Sundays at church, but the whole country does not, and I consider that to be a good thing. Celebrate diversity and tolerance, not rigid adherence to a belief system that few share today.
I don't give a crap what days Shit Fil A is closed, but the people here pining for "the good old days", when men were men, women were property, minorities were lynched and gays were institutionalized, are creepy as fuck. It was NOT a better time, and that was largely because of the same kinds of white, "Christian", heterosexual bigots who run Shit Fil A.
It's wonderful how their sales and brand value are down now. Bigotry cost them, even if not at the very beginning.
Ladies, saying it doesn't make it true.
Their sales were quite good in 2012.
You're new here, R147/R148. A private company can say whatever they like, especially when it buttresses their terrible P.R.. Until they release the documents, no one sane is buying it.
One of those articles says the owners are "billionaires." Doesn't that go against Jesus' teachings? What ever happened to WWJD. Jesus took a vow of poverty. So, why are the faux-Christian owners of CFA keeping all that money? They should be giving all of it to the poor.
A private company can say whatever they like, especially when it buttresses their terrible P.R.. Until they release the documents, no one sane is buying it.
"Sane" people don't think one way or the other. Only a few crazy queens on DL are stamping their feet insisting CFA is circling the drain.
Only a few crazy queens on DL are stamping their feet insisting CFA is circling the drain.
If we don't like something, we're allowed to predict it's nearly dead. We have our blinders on. Therefore all the actual proof in the world of a booming business doesn't matter. Thus, CFA is ready to shut down. Duh!
At the same time, we have erased the fact that Anderson Cooper spent decades in the closet. He's out and getting an award so those decades of gay shame and cowardice did not happen. This is the new mentality at DL and you just have to live with it.
Prosperity gospel, R150. Material wealth is a sign that one has been "blessed." Isn't that...convenient?
Once fundies and other assorted bigots find a new cause du jour, the sales will get back to where they were before the controversy blew up. Speaking of which, what happened to that racist/homophobe baker from the Pacific Northwest? I'm sure his sales temporarily went up.
No one said they're circling the drain, r152.
Posters just said that we doubt what company PR folk say about their sales without any sort of actual documentation or evidence. That's a wise position for anyone to take on ANY information offered by a PR department, and if you think otherwise you know nothing about how modern companies and PR machines operate.
Meanwhile, the company was asked to leave Emory University in Atlanta, hardly known at the moment for being a bastion of radical liberal thought. IMHO it seems an interesting indicator of how young and educated people are thinking of the place.... based on, you know, evidence. Something that happened.
I personally am glad fundies are lining up for that deadly artery clogging fried shit. I wish a cigarette company would step forward as being against gay marriage next and say they need the support of fundamentalists.
If only Dr. Kevorkian were still alive. We could pay him to make a statement opposing gay marriage, then we'll "boycott" him. Once word gets out that sodomites are smearing a business for "expressing freedom of speech", fundies would be lined up outside his office. We could be done with all of them within a week!
so lousy, so nasty, so bitter...
r155 gets it!
Thank you, r155.
R155 really does put it well. R151 is reaching, and is obviously a Republican. It kills them to know that their vociferously anti-gay way of life may fade away.
Who even knows what R152 is on about...
r159, people actually are hating on gays now more than ever!! Check out Yahoo news, AOL hell even huff post readers are sick of the gay crap
You base public opinion on what you read in the comments section of political websites?
Are you mentally challenged? Is there someone we can call to check in on you? Someone with your level of intellectual impairment should not be left alone with a computer.
R159, I know many, many republicans that do not hate on the gays. Unfortunately, hatred towards the gays seems to come from the gays.
"I know many, many republicans that do not hate on the gays"
I know tons. In fact, the only people I know who hate gays vote Republican.
I think my experience is the norm, not yours.
I know tons of black and Hispanic Democrats who hate on the gays
I disagree. Tell your mom not to burn your dinner tonight.
Why hate? I don't get it, I never will.
Why hate? I don't get it, I never will.
Consider where you're posting. It's a place with moronic messages like, "Why does everyone at DL hate Annette Benning?"
Don't bite your mom's clit when you eat her Republican pussy tonight, R165.
The number of people who identify as atheist, agnostic or "no religion" has risen, and continues to rise.
That's a pretty scary thought.
It's a wonderful thought, R169. The second best thought of the day: knowing that R169 will one day die.
after you from AIDS r170
Your humane and compassionate demeanor has changed our minds about so many things!
You're a troll without a cause.
Shit-fil-a's weak point is that they are one of the last major food chains to use only styrofoam for their food containers. Everything is in styrofoam there. Now THAT could be the basis for a successful boycott.
The second best reason to stop eating Chick-Fil-A's fast food is because that shit is EXPENSIVE!
Sorry, but I'm not spending 10 bucks for lunch at a fast food chicken joint, I don't care which one it is.
Around here I can still sit a table and be served a better tasting lunch for ten bucks … MUCH better.
So while the Cathys have the right to donate their personal and company money wherever they want, I also have the right to not eat their food.
So I have stopped eating it and will continue to do so.
I don't expect them to amend their Baptist interpretation of the Holy Bible and therefore I doubt I ever eat a Chick-Fil-A again.
New survey finds Americans say CFA has best customer service. They live the chain.
I have never heard of the The Temkin Group and I am in marketing. J.D. Power Associates, yes; the Temkin, no.
From the website:
"" Temkin Group makes no representation or warranty of any kind, nature or description, express or implied, with respect to the content, including, without limitation, any warranty of any kind or nature with respect to the accuracy of the content or any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or any implied warranties arising from a course of dealing or a course of performance, and we hereby expressly disclaim the same. ""
Others here may do further research about Temkin v. J. D. Power but I have seen all I need to.
I never heard of it until the controversy. I don't go to fast food places in general. I hardly know what Wendy's is- think I found out a few years ago. They are all beyond gross (well at least Burger King, McDonalds and KFC are.)
R171 and R172 are the same person: a fat man who prays fervently while biting horse clitties.
Um, no, R181. Just hit trolldar to see how insanely wrong you are.
So while the Cathys have the right to donate their personal and company money wherever they want, I also have the right to not eat their food.
And that's the gist of it. Why others can't seem to grasp this concept is beyond me.
New survey finds Americans say CFA has best customer service.
They honestly do. I don't eat fast food a lot, and for the few times I'd been to CFA in the past, I can say that their customer service is beyond reproach. I would never be met with an ornery, apathetic attitude whenever I would go there, which is more than can be said for all of the other fast food joints. The catch phrase of their staff whenever they wait on a customer is is "My pleasure."
It's called a 'proxy', R182. I don't have to tell you that, though, do I?
"I would never be met with an ornery, apathetic attitude whenever I would go there, which is more than can be said for all of the other fast food joints."
'Would you like second-class citizenship and an after-dark stoning with your wilted waffle fries, sir?' Please, give me any other fast food place over that apartheid establishment.
It's called a 'proxy', [R182]. I don't have to tell you that, though, do I?
Proxy THESE. LOL. I'm not R171, and R171 is not me. If you don't believe it, then this is how much I care...
In addition to the obvious troll, this thread has also been under attack by CFA employees or hired shills. Most of those posts read like memes about some mythical customers even the gay ones who line up to go these magical fast food places. Like it's that hard to set up Google alerts and spam gay message boards.
Is your I.Q. less than 100? That's not a part of normal conversation... All that Chick-Fil-A peanut oil must be causing transient ischemic attacks.
with Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce, Cole Slaw, and a Large Lemonade (22.5 oz)
79 g fat (13.5 g saturated fat)
1,935 mg sodium
Again, as someone who used to occasionally eat at CFA, and as someone who finds it apalling that they donate money to "Kill The Gays" orgs, I can say that it doesn't take a genius to see that their rabid fanbase is anything but "mythical." Every CFA I've ever seen, whether it be in a mall or at a standalone franchise, has had wall-to-wall customers. There's one around the corner from where I work, and the parking lot is literally not big enough to hold the daily customer demand. Also, the fact that they close on Sundays is no detriment to their business, because if it was, they would have flopped a long time ago. By all appearances, it probably works out for them in the long run, because people likely can't wait to get back there on Monday morning.
No "paid shill" or employee here, just someone who has seen their business and what kind of business they do. I think what's mythical are these "Chick Fil A" employees who apparently troll Datalounge just to snicker at DL posters. These comments about "spammers of gay message boards" and whatnot is just coming from a place of anger, which is justified, but it's just not so.
"Every CFA I've ever seen, whether it be in a mall or at a standalone franchise, has had wall-to-wall customers."
God, you fucking lie. Wall-to-wall? At a fucking fast food restaurant? Do you think we gays are so stupid as to not know that you're a troll? You're so glaringly transparent. Report back to your corporate overlords that we're not amused.
But, R189, you forgot to add "many of them gay" when talking about their customers. Your boss won't be happy! No greasy crap for you today!
Oh, and by the way, R185 was also R169 and R172 on this thread, so judge for yourself.
R192, yes, they can most certainly go judge for themselves that I LOLd at someone who threw a jab at another person who wished me dead. If you don't like it, then take a look at my last sentence in R185 for how I feel about you not liking it.
R191, please don't be naive enough to think that out of all the CFAs in the country that some gays don't still eat there. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. I choose not to eat there anymore, but that does not mean some of us don't still eat there.
God, you fucking lie. Wall-to-wall? At a fucking fast food restaurant?
No, I don't fucking lie. And yes, wall-to-wall. At a fucking fast food restaurant. Have you never witnessed this place at lunch hour? And it's not only the inside, but the drive thru is usually wrapped around the building. As I said, the last time I was there they were taking names at the register and calling your name out when your food was ready because it was just that packed. Again, don't get huffy with me. Get angry with all those people lining up at CFA. Or, better yet, put that anger to some good use and do something about it. Some of you would probably do great things if you didn't just limit yourself to lashing out on online forums.
Oh, and R190, you [italic]do[/italic] know that F&F works both ways, right? And what would you F&F my post at R189 about, anyway? Being angry because my telling you what I've witnessed at CFA with my own two eyes doesn't match what you want to hear?? Ha! Too funny.
Hi Jonathan Merritt! Does daddy still disapprove of your love of cock?
Or, is it Shane L. Windmeyer?
...so lousy, so nasty, so bitter...
You are the least competent PR freak ever, R193. This:
"...because people likely can't wait to get back there on Monday morning."
"...and the parking lot is literally not big enough to hold the daily customer demand."
Is not the language of a normal human being. F&F me if you dare, but I guarantee that we gays are wise to your straight shill ass. The DL is not your personal Chick-Fil-A ad - it's a non-commercial forum for proud gay men and lesbians.
"The DL is not your personal Chick-Fil-A ad - it's a non-commercial forum for proud gay men and lesbians."
LMAO!!!!! best irony post ever
it's a non-commercial forum for proud gay men and lesbians.
Well, I'm not to sure about the non-commercial part, seeing as though at any given time of the day you'll find various people on here proclaiming their love/hate for this celeb or this athlete or that politician or this news reporter, but, I digress...I do fit in very well, thank you, because I too am a proud gay man.
However, YOU, R196, almost make me ashamed to say that I'm gay. Almost. I've never seen someone (you) who claims to be proud and who wants equality, and yet you do nothing but attack with vitriol and knee-jerk reactions. I picture you living in some tiny, dank, one-bedroom apartment with nary a bit of furniture save a futon and a desk, typing angrily away on your keyboard because somebody on DL made you mad because he said he saw CFA's bustling business with his own two eyes and "THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR!!" You'd probably go much further in life if you'd just learn to inhale and...breathe...
So true, R197. It's almost comical.
If you are closed on Sundays, you decrease your operating costs as well as lose profits so its a wash.
And they soak the chicken in pickle juice. That's what gives it that unique flavor.
And lots of gays work there.
Indeed r200, In fact the Chick- fil- A in Long Beach has a black lesbian manager
You're risible, R198... So risible that I have to put my two cents in. This is the first post where you've mentioned you're gay, and that's because you desperately want to build cred with the DL. I agree with R196... You're obviously a shill, and as you can see, 90% of the DLers here disagree with your company's stance. I think the Chick-Fil-A people sent you in, not realizing that this is a gay website. So take yourself, your fellow employees R197 and R200, and your damage control attempts, and stuff them down your bosses' homophobic craws. No one buys that you're native to this place.
Agreed, R200 and R201. There's a guy at the CFA near my job who more than pinged my gaydar when I used to go there.
As for you, my dear R202, what you think of me and whether or not you think I'm a novice here or a native is of no importance to me. I like that you're clocking the exact point I mentioned that I'm a gay man, but it shows that you're at least paying SOME attention. Risible? Ha! That's rich. You and the other guy's assumptions (as hilariously wrong as they are) that I work for Chick Fil A are just about the most ridiculous things I've witnessed here on DL, and I've seen some doozies. And what's even funnier is that you people are actually seething over these ludicrous, anger-based assumptions of yours. Do I work for Chick Fil A? No. Have I eaten there in the past. Yes. Do I still eat there? No. If this is something you can't wrap your brain around, just because I've said a few things about their being closed on Sundays or their constant flow of customers, well, tough shit.
Some of you really do give us a bad name. I'd say "This is why they hate us," but that's another DL poster's tagline (although *sigh* you might not believe me).
You haven't seen any doozies on the DL, hon... You're new here. Just remember that you're on gay turf now, and we don't take kindly to bigots and their bigoted companies.
"Some of you really do give us a bad name."
Said like a true Log Cabinette. What do you care what others think of us gays? Worry more about Chick-Fil-A's supposed overflowing parking lots... They'll empty soon enough, and you'll be out of a job.
Trolldar R203 and this thread lights up like a Christmas tree.
The fact that R203 constantly agrees with the Stormfront Troll at R201 is telling. If the only person agreeing with you is a virulent racist and homophobe, you've really convinced me R203 that you are a longtime gay poster with no agenda.
There are no stand-alone CFAs in this area so I can't comment on their parking lot capacity. There are two malls that have CFAs, sadly the tables and booths are usually filled and people are standing in line.
You haven't seen any doozies on the DL, hon... You're new here
Yes, dear. You just keep telling yourself that if it'll help you get a good night's sleep. That I know you're wrong is all the satisfaction I need.
Just remember that you're on gay turf now
Right, which, as a fellow gay man, makes some of your attacks and mean-spiritedness all the more sad. But it's also funny at the same time. Oh, the drama! The conflictions!
Said like a true Log Cabinette
Your obsession with these people is borderline psychotic. Registered Democrat/life-long city boy here.
What do you care what others think of us gays?
See, this is where you confuse me again. You say you don't care what they think of us, yet you get all hot-n-flustered over people choosing to eat at Chick Fil A--a place that obviously doesn't think highly of us at all, at least not about our rights (although, as a couple of other posters as well as I have said before, they do seem to have gays in their employ, so...). However, you don't eat there. I don't eat there. Skippy at R196 doesn't eat there. See, we've already started the ball rolling.
Chick-Fil-A's supposed overflowing parking lots
It's not supposed, honey, and the fact that you just can't grasp this concept is kind of pathetic. I've already told you what I see, and what I see is that their business isn't hurting. I'm not going to say "Oh yeah, all the Chick Fil A's I see are always empty" just so it'll appease a few hotheads on DL. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. And you can't be this stupid. Then again, you make assumptions about people's careers when you don't even know them, so may you can be this stupid.
you'll be out of a job
Well thank the stars my career has nothing to do with Chick Fil A!
You all are too funny!
The only person who uses 'CFA' to describe Chick-Fil-A is The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll. Nice try, R207, but you've been exposed. Let your boss know that you've failed, and he won't be needing your services anymore.
R205, trolldar R196 and it'll do pretty much the same.
Spoken like a true mental breakdown, R207/R208. You were caught, and now you're flailing.
"...so may you can be this stupid."
I rest my case. Chick-Fil-A will collapse eventually... You're just the first casualty, dear.
But R196 isn't a shitstain on the panties of life like you are.
Ha! Good, R211, that you caught that little flub in my previous post, as I too saw it after I'd hit 'save post' and read it back. Anyway, it's not important. You know what I meant *wink wink*
And, if you don't mind me saying, I still think you own the Stupid Crown, because R207 is not me aka R208, and I'm not him. Maybe trolldar is malfunctioning on your computer?
The only ones mentally breaking down are you clowns who are fooling yourselves into thinking that Chick Fil A is lacking customers. Yes, they are wrong for donating to those hate groups, but I am not naive enough to say that they are hurting for business when I see what their customer flow is like. Are you all this willfully stubborn in your everyday lives? How do people cope being around you?
Any corporation that serves CAFO meat, HFCS and GMO ‘food’ will never get my dollars.
If you care about the future of humanity, they shouldn’t get your dollars either.
Big Ag makes us sick so Pharma can sell us drugs.
But [R196] isn't a shitstain on the panties of life like you are.
Bwahahaha! A shitstain because I'm saying that all I see when I look at Chick Fil A is lots of customers, and I don't think it's bad that they're closed on Sundays? Are you mentally challenged? Wait, why am I even asking??
R213 did your grandfather forget to wash his asshole before you rimmed it dear?
Eww, R216. That's just nasty! Is that something you've tried your hand at before? More power to ya, but that's not my scene. Now, Anthony Recker on the other hand...
Now we know why your mother was so upset that she didn't get the wire hanger in far enough when she tried to abort you R217.
Fundies are cheap, they refuse to eat at a decent restaurant.
[bold]The only person who uses 'CFA' to describe Chick-Fil-A is The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll. Nice try, R 207, but you've been exposed. Let your boss know that you've failed, and he won't be needing your services anymore.
OMG!!! You're amazing R209. Yes, I am The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll. Your cleverness is astounding. Your friends must think you're a regular Sherlock Holmes.
Luckily I have a very generous salary package in the CFA PR department. Since clever people like you discover our identity, that's expected, so it's not considered a failure by our very liberal CFA boss. He also provides a generous bonus for each time I post "CFA" on the internet. That, along with a fully-subsidized CFA healthcare package is what keeps CFA employess so happy and willing to work with diligence every day except the Lord's Day. Our boss is a loving Christian toward all citizens who legally reside in this great nation. The United States owes him a debt of gratitude for setting an example of liberty and justice for all.
Hopefully, you'll be gone when I return so that I can get in a few more good CFA licks, R209. I stand for motherhood, America and a hot lunch for orphans. [/bold]
The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll
Thanks for the link, R220. It's sad that Chick-Fil-A is ramping up their war on the LGBT community.
I stopped going after the shenanigans. There not getting anymore of my money.
When I first saw their places a dozen years ago, the "Closed Sunday" signs were a clear tip-off that it would be a Fundie-owned business. Thus, it was easy to not go in there - ever! There are enough Fundies around to keep them going.
Nobody with a brain eats that shit regularly.
Intelligent people don't eat any fast food. It doesn't matter if it's McDs, KFC, or CFA, none of it is healthy food.
The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll really ran off the rails at R221, huh? That wasn't even very good sarcasm on her part... It still reads like a PR release.
Yes, Moron! We're thrilled that you once again grace this thread with your magnificent intellect. Now that you've given me the title of "The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll," I'll grant you the title "DataLounge Moron of the Month." You can take that title and shove it up your diseased cunt!
The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll
F&F-ing the anti-gay right-wing fundie moron that is the Chick-Fil-A PR Troll...
What an asshole.
Morons like R227 and R229 shouldn't be allowed to post here until they can show proof of going beyond 7th grade. They lack the mental acumen to post anything significant. Is there any doubt that they have NEVER written an e-mail nor signed a petition against the CFA hatemongers? The fact is, the CFA hatemongers get away with pushing their crap on the public due to imbeciles like those two morons.
The Chick-Fil-A PR Troll
So we can remember who the true troll was...
An F&F at R229 would give the webmaster a clear signal that 229 is an absolute idiot. And R209 belongs in the same category. The webmaster has seen me posting here since the days there were personals, an editorial page, and links to a men's health forum. I donated money to DL before they instituted the fee and have posted dozens of messages against CFA and Target since last year and started a multitude of messages over the years regarding repeal of DADT and DOMA. I was probably one of the first ones to complain about the purple and magenta colors, I invented Let's Roll Cinnamon Rolls, and posted gay history for about a year.
To have morons like 229 and 209 claim that I'm a shill for CFA simply because they are too fucking stupid to deal with the FACT that CFAs are still doing a bang up business is the height of idiocy. Up until this moment, I have never used the term "grease fire." I sincerely wish they both die in a grease fire with Chik-Fil-A gizzards shoved up their prolapsed asses.
Now you can FF me again R229
In 2011, the group actually gave even more to anti-LGBT causes. Its contribution to the Marriage & Family Foundation jumped to $2,896,438 and it gave the same amount to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Christian Foundation as it had in 2010. In total, the anti-LGBT spending exceeded $3.6 million — almost double the $1.9 million from the year before.
While the group gave nothing directly to Exodus International or FRC, a large amount of Chick-fil-A/WinShape money still made its way to those groups. The National Christian Foundation (aka the National Christian Charitable Foundation) gave $4,100 to Exodus International and a stunning $1,260,040 to FRC. This was possible, in part, because of the $247,500 it received directly from WinShape and because the WinShape-backed Marriage & Family Foundation also transferred $870,834 to the group — the self-described “largest Christian grant-making foundation in the world.”
In essence, Chick-fil-A’s “charitable” contributions in 2011 were no less hateful than in 2010 — just less transparent.
I LOVE YOU, R232. Tell these idiots where they can go and what they can do when they get there.
To have morons like R229 and R209 claim that I'm a shill for CFA simply because they are too fucking stupid to deal with the FACT that CFAs are still doing a bang up business is the height of idiocy
This statement clearly brought it home.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
