You know. White T-shirts or bowling shirts. Sleeve tattoos. Tight jeans with turned-up cuffs. Converse sneakers or wingtips. Pomade in the hair.
I think this look is really hot on some men, as long as they can carry it off without looking costume-y or like they're on their way to a theme party.
Is there such a thing as a gay rockabilly scene anywhere?
I wish. I think they might be slightly homophobic.
Is this the 1950's again?
That scene is so boring. Really. Once you get to know those people, you realize how much time they spend primping to maintain the image. They're as bad as drag queens.
It doesn't always work though. There used to be a guy I'd see at the bars who tried to work it. He had the entire rockabilly drag going on including the obligatory pinup tattoos on his nonexistent biceps.
Haven't seen him in a while.
They all look like they're wearing costumes.
This thread means nothing without pictures
Typical 'mo like the Stray Cats.
If they were Stray Dogs, he's hate them.
By the way, it's not 1983 anymore.
Not really a popular look in the gay community though. Where do guys who are into that kind of guys go, some retro diner's gay night out?
Would Jimmy Ray qualify as one? He was a bit too "pretty" to be a real rockabilly type to me, but he affected the look and the clothing.
