Will anyone alive today live to see the first female Pope?

I guess the bigger question is, will anyone alive today see the end of the Catholic Church? I guess one would really have to believe in miracles for that to happen.

• I think not. JPII and Ratzinger have assured the leadership of the church is uniformly conservative. It will take a long, long time for a liberal wing to establish itself, and female priests is not likely to be the first radical reform. That would be the celibacy pledge.

• No. The Judeo-Christian-Moslem religions are based on patriarchal values. They are anti-woman to their core. Unless there is a resurgence of "Mary"...there is zero chance.

• Considering only men have been allowed to be priests, and very few of them in the west are signing up, a better question is will the church consider allowing women into the Priesthood at all. Without that happening there's zero hope of a female Pope ever. And you can hope for the fall of the Catholic church all you like OP, but it ain't going to happen. There are many places around the world where Catholicism is alive and well.
