What life event impacted you the most?
I think going to high school had a major impact on me? What about you?
- My entire family died when I was a teenager. I became strong and independent very young but I remember making the decision to never let anyone be that important to me again. That was my way of trying to protect myself at the time but it stuck and scarred me for life.
- r1 wins. Makes high school look like the cake walk that it was.
- Well, it won't hold a candle to r1, but losing my partner to AIDS when I was 29 certainly changed many many many things for me. But then my current partner came along, and for twelve years we've been very happy. He brought me back to life, so I'd say that was even bigger than being widowed.
- Getting cutoff financially from my wealthy family during my sophomore year in college. I worked full time, took out loans, graduated and know my success now is all mine.
- my mother being killed when I was sixteen.
- The successful career of Julie Andrews.
- I lost my partner at 29 too. Then lost my job and my apartment to homophobes. Still, that wasn't what affected me the most. It was my first love who had the most impact on my life.
