This thread is for nurses: do you ever get nervous providing care to patients when their family are around?
I'm always tense around the family. I don't know how to loosen up. They just intimidate me especially when I don't have great interpersonal skills.
- Family can be a pain when they're demanding or critical, but family around is so commonplace that you get over being nervous about things like that.

- Well, how would you like it if I came to your job and stared at YOU? Or tried to tell you how to do your job?
Seriously, having family there is usually very beneficial to the patient, but it's not the nurse's favorite part of the job.
