As I have posted as number of times here's my Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon story. One of my friend/clients is close friends of Reese. He's on TV sometimes and is famous in his own right. Years ago I asked him about Jake and Reese since I was seeing the stories of their 'romance and dating' in the press. He told me they were just friends and that Reese was a major fag hag. He himself is gay. The 'romance and dating' stories were part of a PR campaign and everybody knew it. My friend has shocked me many times with true stories about fake PR stories like this. he thinks it's funny, silly really, and doesn't think any of it seriously. I can't remember if he said anything specifically about Jake's sexuality, since his friendship was with Reese.
