I don't think Doris Day will be remembered much as a sitcom actress.
She is a star. A real life movie star. There's no comparison to those other broads on the list. She should have a huge tribute to her career at the Oscars.
Shameful that they don't do something really special for her before the ol gal goes toes up. Haul her ass down to LA from her cat lady digs in Carmel and get her to present best picture. Honor her. She is a real star, not like Diaz, Hathaway, Griffith etc.
R10 I think they've asked Doris Day to do that and a hundred other things in the last few years.
It isn't that Hollywood forgot her. She is insistent on being out of the public eye.
PS, I stayed at a home that I was told was only a few houses away from Doris's home (or the property on which her home is situated, far from the road). It is beautiful country and I can see why she would live her days there.
OP, you blew it by leaving out Mary Tyler Moore, who is quite frail and ill.
Please let it be Betty White so the younger ones can be spared a little while.
And why isn't Cloris Leachman on the list?
