• My local news channel declared "Venuzuelan dictator Hugo Chavez has died." I fired off an email to educate them that Chavez had been legally and resoundingly elected by Venuzuelans. I received no reply, but they started referring to him as "Venuzuelan president Hugo Chavez."

• I think heating oil should stop being used for home heating anyway. There are more environmentally friendly ways to heat one's home. Great strides have been made in heat pump technology, both air-source and geo-coupled. Natural gas reserves are at an all-time high. And why is it just the Northeast has such high penetration of oil heat? No other sections of the country want to burn motor oil to heat their houses -- good grief!
