Has anyone noticed that? Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, George Clooney...average looking guys, really.

• I remember Uma Thurman once saying that most people don't notice that the waitress serving them coffee is better looking than her and that they only find her beautiful because she is up on the screen.

• Thurman is right, of course, there are good looking people everywhere, often better looking than people who are dubbed hot on the screen, but that doesn't mean that there aren't attractive celebrities, OP's iexamples ironically demonstrate.

It's the same with sports stars. There are people who actually think Tim Tebow is good looking. If they saw someone like Tebow walking down the street, they would think, "tardface."
