James Franco Releases Youtube Video And Comes To the Defense Of Gay Filmmaker After Australian Censors Axed The Film
In his video he says "Frankly, adults should be able to choose. They’re not going in blind. I don’t know why in this day and age something like this, a film that is using sex not for titillation but to talk about being human, is being banned. It’s just embarrassing."
Do you think he's gay too?

- I love that he is not afraid to make these kind of films and if he is truly straight, thats fckin awesome
- Everything Franco does gives me a stuffy, especially when he opens his mouth.
- R1 Are you delusional? He is NOT straight. I don't know gay men who are this obsessed with everything gay-related, let alone straight men.
- James is not gay but just loves his little brother very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very much.
- I wonder if his hipster douche act is just that, an act?
- I dont care but Id have him and his brother in bed any day they care to come over
- Franco is a gay man who pretends to be a straight man that is just extremely interested in gay sex, as if it's a hobby.
Australia still censors films? Does their constitution not protect freedom of expression?
- Australia is in a very similar position to the U.S. right now, they are having elections this year and one of the biggest topics is gay marriage. And yes, apparently they do..good for you James Franco! Thank YOU for standing up to biggotry!
- Not gay but an attention whore.
- R9 Agreed. And does anyone who if he has dated any women (or men) in the past?
- Is his brother gay?
- The gayest he's ever looked.

- Australia really is backwards and has a loooong ways to go to catch up to modern times.
- Regardless of what anyone might think about James Franco, the film he is speaking out for, I Want your Love, is truly an amazing, groundbreaking film. It demonstrates that graphic sex can actually play an integral role in telling a story about real human beings.
Saw it last year at Frameline.
- What sort of 'graphic' scenes happen in the film?
- Graphic sex is unessasary in a non pornographic film. The only use of it is to mask a cliche or lousy storyline. If you know how to tell a story, you don't need stunts like this to futher the story.
- [quote]Graphic sex is unessasary in a non pornographic film.
oh, Dear!
- Franco looks very tired in that video.
And that is such a gay Hawaiian shirt.
- R16, That is a completely arbitrary judgment to make. It's like telling a painter that the color purple is not necessary if you know how to draw.
See the film before you make judgments about what is integral to the story. Perhaps the filmmaker failed in his use of graphic sex. But you cannot make that assessment until you see the film.
The sex in this film, though explicit, is not, in my opinion, pornographic. And I think others agree. It would never have made it into the Frameine film festival if it were pornography.
- When did James Franco turn hot again? He looks very hot and buff in that video. In fact, he looks so much younger than he has been looking. Blond does him good.
- So anyone know WHY Australia is censoring the film?
- R20 When did James Franco turn un-hot?
He's a real good looking man, to paraphrase Peter Townshend, and he always has been.
- [quote]So anyone know WHY Australia is censoring the film?
Because they're a conservative backwards shithole who refuses to catch up to modern times.
- I thought Australia was more progressive and liberal than America.
Anyway, James needs to show his COCK!
- R21, the Australian Classification Board (which has the right to ban art from distribution in Oz) claims that the film is too sexually explicit to be shown at the film festivals. That's basically it.
R24, Australia is more progressive than the US on some issues, but not on gay rights. The PM is against gay marriage (although she is an atheist and unmarried by choice) and the opposition leader is very anti-gay.
- [quote]The PM is against gay marriage (although she is an atheist and unmarried by choice)
Does she have children? Or a partner? Because if so, isn't it wrong to have a sexual relationship outside of marriage? How come that's okay but not gay marriage?
- R26, she has a partner called Tim, who is a hairdresser, and no children. And yes, their relationship has been heavily mocked.
Gillard claims that she is against gay marriage because she wants to uphold "tradition", but some members of her party (Labor) are for it.
- But she's not in a traditional relationship herself, R27. She's in a common-law partnership rather than a proper, traditional marriage.
Hypocrisy.
- [quote]Franco is a gay man who pretends to be a straight man that is just extremely interested in gay sex, as if it's a hobby.
This is the simplest explanation of who he is, and I love it. It should be the dictionary definition of "James Franco."
- So Franco is gay, R29?
