...until it comes to cured meat, you know the worst stuff for you.
I can give up chicken, and all that bland stuff but put some ham, bacon or anchovies in the room and I am lost. Add pepperoni or any other cured dried sausage and I will eat myself to death on the nitrates.
Otherwise I am good with broccoli.
All in moderation, OP. Anchovies are good for you. Avoid processed food and sugar, those are the real enemies, and enjoy your cured meats sparingly.
You're nowhere near "almost vegetarian." If the only thing you're able to give up is chicken, that's really nothing to brag about. You're more of a meat eater than many proud meat eaters.
Other than cured meats which I cannot resist I do not eat meat. I used chicken as an example.
At home I have not had meat in a few years, save bacon and anchovies.
At parties if there are cured meats you can't keep me away.
Perfection, whatever the fuck that may be, is not required, OP. You're doing well and moving in the right direction. That's what's most important.
It's good for the planet, good for your body, and good for the amimals. Keep it up.
