• His ex-wife was a Scientologist. The owner of Academy of Art up in SF was/is a Scientologist and has collected some primo real estate. "The Church" has quite a grip up there, believe it or not.

• Today is apparently Patrick Bateman, er, Gavin Newsom day on C-Span's BookTV. He's being interviewed right now and next is an airing of a book party for him.

• He was a terrible Mayor in many ways. He came up with all sorts of green initiatives without caring whether or not there was actually money to pay for them. He spent a lot of time campaigning for governor while being paid by the City of SF to work as the Mayor. Everyday problems in SF were beneath him. He only cared about high profile projects that would make him look good. The guy is a sleaze and I'm glad he's no longer our Mayor.

• Gavin is a textbook psychopath. Many politicians are (Anthony Weiner comes to mind.) Like most psychopaths who achieve high positions, they are actually lousy at management.

• Newsom was a terrible mayor. Huge ego and resented being asked any probing questions in interviews.

• I have heard Gavin is bisexual. His father was a lawyer for the Getty famliy.Someone said that Gavin is extremely power hungry ,and he'll say and do anything to get what he wants. I agree with the posters who said he was a terrible mayor. He just cares about power. R53, that doesn't surprise me because he seems like that type of person. BTW, I'm not saying this because I don't like him ,but he looks older than 45 picture. However, he used to be really hot.
