This so called God doesn't want people to kill either but they do. And how the fuck does this ass know what God wants. I hate these homophobe who think they have it all wrap up.
^ Yeah, it's funny how God is against gay players but doesn't have a problem with straight players who cheat on their wives or have babies out of wedlock
Who is that?
No one cares what his opinion is.
He'd be surprised to learn who in that shower room is checking him out.
Jim Miller is a nobody who never was. Like the late homophobe Reggie White, their time is past .
We need a Pro Bowl caliber player to come out of the closet and be the Jackie Robinson or Althea Gibson of pro sports. Then all this speculation and veiled threats will blow over. Done and done. What current pro athlete would be willing to risk his job and endorsements by being assy to an out gay colleague, and risk having it be exposed?
In addition, most athletes don't make or save enough during their careers to retire on. They look to go into sports media, marketing, or entertainment for their second acts. Who would hire them if they were out and proud homophobes? Not even Westboro Baptist ; they only hire from within.
Nobody's talking about what's in their hearts. I know some athletes still cling to racial prejudices. But they don't dare voice them openly.
Many race car drivers would rather not drive alongside a Danica Patrick. But they can't get away with treating her the way they did Janet Mears 30 years ago.
That's how progress works in the sports world. But *somebody* has to be brave enough to come out. Why hasn't it happened yet? It's no good enough to say "we can't do it until we have equal protection under the law."
Robinson and many other black athletes braved the risks of going pro long before Brown v. Board and the Civil Rights Acts were passed. And it wasn't because Robinson had no other prospects. He came from a solidly middle class family where higher education was valued. He graduated from UCLA, and could have made a great living without subjecting himself to the hell on earth he endured as Branch Rickey's test case.
There's no way around this. No way to make it easy on the first openly gay pro athlete in team sports. But he US is ready for it. The US *needs* it to happen. And it needs to happen soon, preferably while a pro-gay, sports loving POTUS Obama is still in the WH.
