Human beings as pets?

I'm NOT talking about REAL human beings, I'm talking about a robot that resembles a human being. In the future, I'm sure there will be robot human beings. Ever since I got a pet, I'm a lot more happier and optimistic about life. Still depressed sometimes but life's better, so I thought wouldn't it be great if I had a human being as a pet. Someone who resembled me, someone to talk to whenever I wanted. Who will ALWAYS be there for me every step of the way. I'm sure some ethical issues will come up but if there were human robots, I would definitely purchase one.
