- Didn't see any really horribly dressed people, but holy shit, Kristen Stewart sure knows how to look like a cigarette but at a formal event. Her dress wasn't even that bad. Does she have some fear of other people touching her hair? Between her time onstage to present, and when they cut to her in the audience an hour later, she went from coked up to a total mess.
- Best: Jennifer Lawrence.
Worse: Salma Hayek. Bitch has a body, it should be seen.
- Best: Jennifer Hudson
Jessica Chastain
Jennifer Aniston
Michelle Obama
Sandra Bullock
Worst: Quentin Tarantino
- Kristen Stewart looked strung out. I've never seen anything like it.
- Best:
Charlize Theron
Stacey Kiebler
Michelle Obama
Sally Field
Nicole Kidman
Worst:
Jennifer Lawrence
Kerry Washington
Naomi Watts
Salma Hayek
Anne Hathaway
- Anne has her Oscar. She doesn't care what you think of her dress.
- Best: Jessica Chastain, looked equally good at a distance and close up. Wore a color nobody else could carry off.
Worst: Kristin Stewart, but mainly because she was a soggy mess. Salma Hayak, Amanda Seyfried, and Naomi Watts had worse dresses on.
- Best: Sandra Bullock, Jessica Chastain
Worst: Catharine Zeta-Jones
- Worst: Jennifer Aniston. She's not a young girl anymore and shouldn't wear these full dresses and sloppy straight hair.
- BEST:
Jessica Chastain
Naomi Watts
Octavia Spencer
WORST:
Anne Hathaway
Jennifer Aniston (Bitch, it's the Oscars, put your hair up in a bun, for Crissakes!)
Kristen Stewart (Coked out, dirty and sweating in a dress she stole/borrowed)
Samuel L. Jackson (Please don't tell him I said that!)
Melissa McCarthy, and it has nothing to do with her weight. Octavia Spencer and Adele are large ladies and they looked impeccable. Was Melissa wearing some stretchy thing from Marshalls? Horrible.
- BEST: Jessica Chastain, by a wide mile--one of the all-time best looks at any Oscars, with a brilliant dress and great hair and great makeup
GREAT: Nicole Kidman (a little theatrical but she looked great)
Charlize Theron (the lovely flowing white dancing dress)
Sally Field (enjoyably dramatic)
Octavia Spencer (no overweight woman regularly dresses better for red carpet events than she does--her dresses are always terrific and offset her heaviness)
Quvenzhané Wallis (though she needed to ditch the purse)
Adele (not the red carpet dress, but the great slimming metallic dress she sung her big song in)
PRETTY GOOD: Jennifer Hudson (needed a different hairdo)
Renee Zellwegger (the drugged-out stupor made it hard to judge)
Halle Berry (the shoulders were too busy, but the body of it was breathtaking)
FASHIONISTAS WILL LOVE THEM, BUT I HATED THEM: Naomi Watts's weird cutout-above-the-left-boob dress
Jennifer Lawrence's, which would be a beautiful sculpture behind a glass case but was ridiculously overdramtaic and impractical (she tripped in it, for God's sake)
BAD: Anne Hathaway's bizarre pinched nipples dress
Meryl Streep (a mess as usual)
Bradley Cooper's mom's ridiculous pink maribou jacket--poor woman
Melissa McCarthy--her hair was too busy and the dress was both too busy and looked like it was falling into pieces
- When is the Fashion Police Oscar special on?
- Best Dressed: Jane Fonda...gorgeous from head to toe.
Worst Dressed: Anne Hathaway, plain and boring dress, awful.
- I wonder what the Valentino gown looked like.
- Was Stacy Keibler's dress made of silver chains? It looked okay from far away but the closer you got and realized it could be silver chains, it was striking.
- I guess I'm the only one that liked Anne Hathaway's dress. I liked the simple mod cut, I liked the way the incredible diamond necklace fit into the neckline, and I like how she looks in the palest colors. Whites really bring out her dark hair and eyes.
I wouldn't give her a "best dressed" award, but she did look damn good.
- Melissa McCarthy has officially become a 10th rate drag queen. She wouldn't even make it on to RuPaul's Drag Race with that hideous outfit.
Hugh Jackman's wife didn't even try; she wore a black pant suit. Bull dyke or not, this is the Oscars you fat old hag.
- Fashion Police Monday night 8:30 -10.
- Aniston looked OLD last night. But damn, she was with one of the hottest men there.
- [quote]Quvenzhané Wallis (though she needed to ditch the purse)
Dude, she's NINE. Really, you can't possibly be that prissy, can you?
Anne Hathaway, who I have no problem with, as many here do, was worst dressed. That chest panel was awful. Streep as said above was her usual mess. Melissa McCarthy, who I also have no problem with did herself no favors, but did a big one for Rex Reed with the grey number.
Here are pics of all the dresses.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2283932/Oscars-2013-Jennifer-Lawrence-Anne-Hathaway-Jessica-Chastain-lead-glamour-light-gowns.html
- Hugh Jackman's wife is wearing pants. Joan Rivers is going to destroy her tonight on Fashion Police, as if it actually means anything anyway.
- I wonder what happened to Anne's original dress since they said 3 hours prior to the awards she was all set to wear Valentino (who she is supposedly close to). Even Valentino thought she was wearing Valentino. So obviously something went very wrong.
- Kristen Stewart gets worst dressed for not brushing her hair and generally looking like she was on her next heroin fix.
The dress wasn't awful but it was awful on HER.
I can only imagine what Joan is going to say tonight.
- Are you thinking menstruation, r22?
- Helen Hunt bought her dress off the rack at H&M
- I thought Hunt looked good.
- R26 she went to the Beverly Center to buy a dress at H&M OFF THE RACK!
- SO WHAT if she bought it at H&M, or Walmart or at the gas station across the street from the Beverly Center. She looked great and that's the bottom line.
- I agree. I wouldn't have guessed it was off the rack unless I'd read it. She looked terrific last night... simple lines, elegant jewels, pretty hair. It was a good night for her.
26
- Helen Hunt PROUDLY told all the reporters on the red carpet she bought the dress OFF THE RACK at H&M
Wonder if she was paid by H&M to do that. Think of all the free publicity they are getting this AM
- Hunt's wearing a dress from H&M is part of some green promotion. And to say it was 'off the rack' is apparently not accurate. It was custom made for her. A version of it will be available at H&M stores starting in April.
- R27 = Kelly Osbourne, fashion "expert."
Ditch the fake purple here, bitch, and then we'll talk about fashion expertise.
- All those E women critiquing were disgusting looking. What credentials does Kelly Osbourne have. Same with that Guiliana stick insect creature. Does she eat at all? How does her husband fuck a bag of bones comfortably?
- She may be nuts, but Halle Berry looked magnificent in her metallic Versace gown.
Wow! Fantastic!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/24/halle-berry-oscar-dress-2013-photos_n_2712209.html
- R33: Ha! What you said is so true! Although I do rather like Kelly Osbourne, even though it does seem she just inherited her fame without actually doing anything. Giuliana Rancic does freak me out a bit, though. She REALLY needs to start eating more and kvetching less.
- ITA @ R34. I'm surprised Halle Berry isn't getting more buzz for "Best Dressed." That gown was stunning and her body is amazing as ever at 46 years old.
- Adele's red carpet dress was the same one she wore in her number. It was more slimming because it blended into the background of the set.
- Halle's always beautiful but the dress looked too "Dynasty" for me.
- "Kristen Stewart looked strung out. I've never seen anything like it."
Oh honey, you need to watch more TV. She's always slouching, snarling and her hair is unkempt.
- Halle Berry is my best-dressed, too, holding off stiff competition from Theron and Fonda.
I know her cheese is way off the cracker, but still, when it comes to appearing on the red carpet, she always gets it right.
Wisely age appropriate and counter to her previous choices which were more revealing, she worked the covered look.
As a result, she packed more regal star power into her appearance then actresses half her age.
JLO, take note.
Della
- Della what about Helen Hunt off the rack wardrobe choice from H&M?
- Hugh's wife was the worst, by far. The ill-fitting jacket and the brassy, dollar store clip-on pony tail were horrible. I mean, she didn't need to try hard since she was a plus-one not a nominee, but she looked like a Vegas granny.
- r41, Although I'm not a fan of a strapless, sleevelss gown, Hunt looked the best out of every other actress that was wearing one.
(Charlize Theron was in strapless sleeveless but she's in a class by herself, not to be lumped in with mere mortals)
I loved the navy color of Hunt's gown, her hair and jewelry were perfect.
I dislike pale color, but alas, it seems to be so in. Olivia Spencer looked good in pale but she's got the skin tone to make it work.
Della
- Fan Bingbing looked amazing. Her first US film is Iron Man 3 but she's been hanging around movie premieres and fashion shows for the past year. Who is she? Who was she? Who does she hope to be?

Harold%20
- r42, I agree with you, but I understand why she doesn't try. If I had her unwieldy dimensions I would feel ridiculous trying to compete with women who are rail thin.
And yet, she could have put in a bit more effort.
Speaking of wearing pants to the Oscars, my all-time favorite garment worn by an actress to the Oscars wasn't a gown. It's the white tuxedo suit that Angelina Jolie wore as a presenter. Nobdy else has even come close.
Della
- I HATE Halle Berry's hair. I wish she'd do something else with it.
- Grey Anatomy
http://i1.wp.com/styleblog.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/melissa-mccarthy-oscars-2013-e1361760116544.jpg?resize=530,740
Kathryn Crosby for Coit*
- I'm tired of Halle's hair too. She's had the same look forever. She looked like the Heat Miser last night.
Renee Zellweger's face was freaking me out. She looks like Christina Applegate now.
- Grey is a difficult color to wear, even as a suit.
Della
- I agree with you too R33!
My picks: Best- Halle Berry Worst- Anne Hathaway
- Halle = Nolan Miller designs King Tut
- Chastain looked terrible. You could see her rather large panties through that ugly color and fabric. Her tits looked like they were cupped in two old-time nurses' hats. It was like she cut one of her mother's prom dresses with pinking shears and spray painted it with red copper appliance paint.
- Thank you, R51. I thought I was the only one who noticed her too tight panties and the slight muffin top they created under the dress. She looked lumpy.
- I liked Samantha Barks (sexy glamor), Halle Berry( just gorgeous from head to toe), Octavia Spencer (big girl glamor), Nicole Kidman, Queen Latifah ( simple, big girl elegance), and Olivia Munn.
I didn't like Anne Hatheway's gown, although I think it could have worked on someone with better proportions. Melissa McCarthy was just a mess, nothing more to say. Jennifer Anniston looked like she didn't even try.
Jane Fonda has a great body, better than some twenty year old women, but the dress didn't work for me. It's primarily the color of the gown that made it a miss for me. Sally Field looked horrendous. It was as if she wrapped her self in old lady drapes.
Kerry Washington is a beautiful woman but her gown was a miss. Adele wears the same gown to every award show. Amanda Seyfried looked 30 years older than she is. Catherine Zeta-Jones looked like a performer in some circus show in Vegas. Amy Adams left me puzzled. As you can see I can write a book about the ones I didn't like lol.
Reese Witherspoon, Stacy Keibler, and Namomi Watts were all borderline for me. I can't tell if I like their gowns or not. But I do know that I love Reese Witherspoon' hair, it was gorgeous.
- Aniston's hair ruined her look. Can't she change it...just once?
- "Real Housewives" star Brandi Glanville (who invited her?): my titties are falling out!
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EetNtj82xUg/USthCfvu5yI/AAAAAAAAQec/BozuzBUI5JM/s1600/brandi glanville.jpg
- R54. Great post. I like someone who is clearly invested in the topic at hand.
FYI, I thought Jane Fonda was the best dressed of the evening. A knockout in my opinion especially an old broad compared to all the young chicks on the red carpet.
Don't miss E!'s "Fashion Police" tonight. You'll see how you stack up against Joan Rivers and George Kotsiopoulis...and have a few laughs along the way.
- Kristen Stewart actually wore one high heel and one ballet flat which was just the dumbest thing I can possibly think of. If she couldn't walk just wear flats on both feet.
http://imgbox.com/abmI9QG0
- Halle Berry's hair makes her look like she's an attractive McDonald's cashier shopping at Walmart after her shift. She exudes pissy cluelessness and a kind of sloppy look.
But of course we know she's a desperate twat.
As for Aniston's hair - she can't let go of the fact that hasn't been 20 for 24 years. And her needy, demanding desperation makes Berry look like Garbo.
- Speaking of horrible, where was Angelina? You can usually count on her to be at least half badly dressed.
- [quote]"Real Housewives" star Brandi Glanville (who invited her?): my titties are falling out!
Looks like she's attending the porn Awards.
Bet Joan and crew love Hathaway. They'll crow how gorgeous it was. It wasn't.
- I'll miss seeing Fashion Police. I hope those of you who watch will post some of your reactions.
Della
- According to ET, the reason for AnnE's last-minute dress change was that she realized that it was too similar to Amanda Seyfried's dress.
- If this article is correct, they'd have looked like TWINS!
But seriously, I liked the dress Anne ended up wearing, more than the bland silvery one in the article. At least the pale-pink dress was unusual, and could be used to show off some mega-massive diamonds.
http://www.eonline.com/news/391846/anne-hathaway-s-spontaneous-oscar-gown-swap-prada-over-valentino
- Anybody watching Fashion Police?
Della
- I am watching it and boy, are they cruel!!!
There is so much slander I guess no celebrities will sue.
- Watching, the fashionistas were horrified Helen Hunt didn't go couture. Of course this is how these talentless people make there money, talking about fashion and if everyone went the way Helen did, they'd have nothing to talk about. The Human Bobble head called it unforgivable.
- Who were Joan's Worst and Best Dressed?
Della
- AnnE was voted worst dressed.
- Jennifer Lawrence best dressed.
- Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta Jones both wore gold dresses, that while lovely really don't come across well on tv. Shiney gold dresses look somehow flat on television.
Meryl Streep got dressed in her car, and obviously wore whatever was in the trunk. I've seen her in that ghastly dress before.
- Queen Latifah did look good but then she always does. She knows how to dress for her figure and for awards shows; so few other women do.
I thought Sally Field looked great.
- Charlize
- GQ judges the men:
http://www.gq.com/style/profiles/201302/oscars-best-dressed-men
- Jane Fonda was one of the worst dressed - the overly bright neon yellow gown was such an odd obnoxious color - she stood out like a neon sign or a Christmas tree.
- Halle Berry's dress looked like a traffic jam.
- Jane Fonda was the best. On top of it, she's still gorgeous. She looked better than girls three times younger than her.
- GQ said Eddie Redmayne was best dressed man.
I also he looked sharp in his tux, but I can't agree that he's best because that hair was just not good.
- When Streep sauntered out to present, just as I was saying what a class act she always is, she began picking her gown out of her butt, which she continued to do for some little time. Whatever happened to class?
- R77, Jane Fonda apparently wears wigs.
- Bradley Cooper looked horrendous with the two tons of filthy grease on his hair slicking it back.
He looked dirty and like a cesspool of filth.
His tuxedo was ill-fitting and sloppy looking.
- I thought Reese Witherspoon looked pretty awful compared to how she looked just an awards season or two ago when she looked fantastic and wore bangs, long straight hair, and a lovely, very flattering yellow dress.
I hated her hair last night - I do not like that false glamour hairdo with the harsh contructed waves. (Kim Kardashian has been wearing it too and it looks equally horrid on her)
I think that hairdo aged Reese making her look 15 years older than her age.
Also, she should not have presented so soon after having a baby Even though the baby is not all that young, she still has a lot of baby weight in her stomach area which was not attractive at all.
And the strapless dress was not flattering for her shoulders, arms, and breasts
Plus the harsh, constructed waves of the faux old Hollywood glamour hairdo made her angular features look even more harsh.
- Best dressed woman: Amy Adams
Best dressed man: Liev Schneider
Worst Dressed woman: Hugh Jackman's wife
Worst dressed man: Bradley Cooper
- [quote]When Streep sauntered out to present, just as I was saying what a class act she always is, she began picking her gown out of her butt, which she continued to do for some little time. Whatever happened to class?
She was pulling the train off her heel, she almost tripped. However, since you immediately went for the butt, you have no business talking about class! Harrrumph!
- Why did Chastain feel the need for those extensions? She should have had her hair shoulder length in the same Veronica Lake style. When she turned around I was like, WTF is with all the flowing tendrils?
- Halle always looks the SAME. I am sick of her.
- Kerry Washington looked sickly in hi-def. That girl needs to put on a few pounds. She looked like shit with no tits.
- [quote] Liev Schneider
Oh, dear.
Ann%20Romano
- Wrong, r37. Red carpet dress was long, performance dress was short.
- [quote] Watching, the fashionistas were horrified Helen Hunt didn't go couture.
She did buy her dress off the rack. What would you expect them to say?
- Esquire judges the men:

- Quvenzhane' looks like a Munchkin in "The Wiz" carrying home a goose for dinner, which she killed with a sling shot.
http://www.thegloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Quvenzhané-Wallis.jpg
Jada
- Look at the dress Amy Adams wore to the afterparty. It's better than her red carpet gown, it's better than anyone's red carpet gown!
If that ninny had had the sense to wear this to the ceremony instead of that thing that looked like an old bathmat with a bodice, she'd be getting "best dressed" votes.

R92
- r95 - Great dress, but the hair!
- I completely agree, R93.
- Bradley Cooper can never look good no matter how hard he tries. That mug always messes things up.
- Chastain was by far the best (making up for her disastrous look at the Globes), Halle Berry comes in second
Streep was the worst of the night and of her long career of not dressing well
