Ben Affleck predictions: what will he whine about next.

Now that Ben Affleck has won two Oscars... (Quick reminder, the following never won an Oscar: Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Altman, Akira Kurosawa, Charlie Chaplin, Glenn Close, Peter O'Toole, Michaelangelo Antonioni...) Deep breath... What will he find to whine about next? Will his plumbing not work? Jennifer won't give him anal sex? He isn't made ambassador to the UK?

• Glad to see Ben Affleck win the Oscar for best picture, because he's also been very serious and smart in his work on Congo. His Eastern Congo Initiative does excellent work, and it's great to see a celebrity use his clout to shine a light and make a difference. In my book, he gets the Oscar for Best Influence!

• He's going to spend the rest of his career trying to make amends with Canada. As it should be.

• Tonight he proved that the reason he wasn't nominated for Best Director is because he's an egomaniacal asshole.

• Hitchcock and Chaplin never won oscars? Wow I didn't know that. I just asumed they had. I never understood Ben and his "hurt feelings". Now he has 2 oscars. Will that stop him from whining? Maybe for awhile. He got his ass kissed so I'm sure mister modest will stay for a bit.

• Actually, the past several winners of "Best Director" are known for their humility and being fundamentally good people (Kathryn Bigelow, Ang Lee, Tom Hooper).

• Kubrick and Chaplin both won competitive academy awards.

• R9 certainly has mastered the bimbo portrayal herself, hasn't she? Or is she just illiterate (and ignorant)?

• Correction, OP. Chaplin won an Oscar in 1928, the first year of the AA for "The Circus." And Hitchcock's film Rebecca won for Best Picture in 1940. As director he would have received a statuette, although he was nominated as Best Director and did not win that award.

• Update: Chaplin also won an Oscar for Best Score in 1973.
