Why do Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty always get front-row Oscar seats?

Even if not nominated? Even if they didn't work that year? Why keep kissing their asses? Is it still 1975? We're supposed to think they're still 'cool'?

As for Beatty, his early-stage Alzheimers is the only thing that has kept Bening around. He still fucks around, but is so pathetic she figures she can outwait the institutionalization and claim the whole pile instead of grabbing half.
