What I don't understand about rape and violence
I recently came across a poster that depicted a battered greek woman. She was covered in blood and the poster was about rape.
Why do rapists hit women while raping them? I don't get it.
I'm asking about this because I often fantasize about being raped, but none of my fantasies involve violence and I am handled gently.
- Rape victims, male and female, are often times brutalized by the perpetrator.
- That's not real rape OP.
- Women will argue til they're blue in the face that rape is not sex, it's violence blah blah. But when a man get's hard and ejaculates, he just had sex- no matter if he had to hold a knife to her head to get it. Straight women can't admit this because then they'd have to accept that inside their beloved booboo is an animal who gets off on the little yelps of pain she emits during sex. Sticking things in all her holes, squirting on her face, etc. Men get off on the dirty- not Kama Sutra.
As for the slapping, it's probably just to keep the victim quiet.
Romantic love is a relatively modern adaption. When Early Man wanted sex he just took it.
- A gently handled rape? Do you keep your reticule nearby so you can have access to your vinaigrette?
- rape as I understand it is a Violent act, not necessarily a sexual one.
- Rape is about power and control, OP.
The rapist doesn't give a damn what he has to do to get power and control over his victim. A lot of times, the more frightened she is, the better he likes it so he'll escalate his violence to get the same reaction.
- Because rapists are sadists who hate women, because the rapist was trying to knock her out so she wouldn't put up a fight.
You should read Lucky by Alice Sebold for the detailed (and nauseating) account of her own rape. Before reading Lucky, I also didn't really understand how a typical rape occurs.
- OP, what you've described about your fantasies is not rape rape.

- For God's sake why didn't someone show R3's mother how to use a coat hanger?
