YUM!
BELCH!
FART!
- YUCK!
- geez it must suck to live in a flyover state.
- Great burgers. Great fries. What's not to like?
-
Great burgers. Great fries. What's not to like?
Having to go down the street to a different restaurant to get great burgers and fries.
-
geez it must suck to live in a flyover state.
It must suck to be such a pretentious twit that the conversation can't even turn to diner food without your trying to use it as an opportunity to trot out your tired, off-the-shelf queeny snobbery.
Pathetic.
- What's Red Robin?
- They're fine -- nothing for little pee pees to tremble in indignation about...
- It would be awesome if, for once, some of you guys would stop acting so above it all. I'm not a particular fan of chain restaurants, but they're fine for some and they won't hurt you if you eat in one from time to time. Calm down, get a Red Robin burger and fries and shut the fuck up.
- I love watching fat people argue over which fast food is best!
Hunty
- Not healthy. Why spend money eating out when tossing a salad together is so simple?
- I'm not fat. I'm 6'4" and 180lbs.
And there's a totally hot waiter at my local Red Robin who is extremely flirty with me. That's in addition to the decent food... I usually get the California wrap. The Bruschetta Chicken sandwich is pretty good too.
It's not like I eat there all the time. Once every 2 or 3 weeks maybe.
And the reality is -- a sad, sad reality -- is it's one of the best burger places in the area. And the fries ("steak fries") are pretty good as well. I don't eat French fries very often (they're so not healthy) but I make the occasional exception for these.
They also have good drinks. And bottomless raspberry lemonades in the summer really hit the spot.
-
Why spend money eating out when tossing a salad together is so simple?
That has got to be one of the stupidest questions ever. Are you [italic]serious[/italic]??
- Red Robin! yuck! loud! full of breeders! fried slop!
Just another hog trough.
-
tossing a salad together is so simple
Plus, you can get hepatitis, which is a fabulous diet.
- It would have been helpful, OP, had you told us to what you were referring or had linked to their website. I thought this thread was about a bird.
- R9, where do you think the term "prissy queen" comes from?
- ...there are people who don't know what Red Robin is? Or have never heard their jingle?
- No, R18. In what part of the country are they in?
R7/R16
- We do not have "Red Robin" in my metropolitan area.
There is a hotel chain named Red Roof, but no Red Robin.
I too must assume it is another one of those flyover things like Piggly Wiggly and Shoneys
- Not to mention the Golden Corral
- I live in southern CT, hardly flyover territory, and we have Red Robin here. I go every once in a while and their burgers are delicious. I don't get these uptight queens who are so pissy about certain places to eat. If you want a quick meal and don't want to spend a lot of $$, I don't see what the big deal is. We also have a chain here called Friendly's that's been around forever and their burgers are also quite good.
- Pissy, snobby queens are tiresome.
- R11 because salads don't taste like fries, hush puppies, and burgers
- Hush puppies! Arggggh!
- R13, Yes I'm serious. It is very simple (and Healthy) to toss a salad together. Going out doesn't have to mean eating. My social doesn't revolve around restaurants.
- I love a lot of arugula tossed with craisins and almonds....with a splash of Italian dressing. Dinner.
- Almonds on salad? Let me guess. You wear flip flops, too.
Turkey or Black bean burgers to fill you up and eat healthy at the same time. Come on now.
- r26 Enjoying a homemade salad doesn't necessarily mean you have to quizzically ponder restaurant meals, as if they're some bizarre, incomprehensible ritual performed by the inhabitants of Mars.
- Anyone else like Backyard Burgers?
- I despise flip-flops and veggie burgers, r28!
- R30, all the Backyard Burgers around here disappeared. Which is too bad. They were expensive, but utterly delicious. Best burgers ever.
- Chain restaurants don't make me clutch my pearls quite as tightly as some on this thread, but ...
The one time I was in a Red Robin is was so fucking loud I had to leave. Dreadful music over the PA which only made the customers talk louder and then the hardwood floors, walls and ceilings were an acoustic nightmare.
So I never even got near the food.
- I don't go during the busy times, so I haven't had issues with noise.
-
I live in southern CT, hardly flyover territory
Ghetto. Lots of ghetto in soconn.
- Somehow, I find R11 cute and naive.
- R20 - we have Red Robin here. Do you consider Seattle as "flyover country"?
- It's really good! The only place with planck/steak fries,YUM!
The hookworm queens here, are the answer to the, "why are so many gay men single?" thread LOL!

- Mall food for after enduring the department stores.
Burger, fries, and a beer.
1995
- I live in a smallish town that doesn't even have that. It would be a treat here.
- Their raspberry tea is good.
- For those who've never heard of Red Robin, if you've been to Applebees, TGIFridays and that ilk, you've been to this chain.
As for Friendly's - I haven't been in years, but they're an ice cream chain, that sells meals, too. My recollection is that their burgers were pretty mediocre.
- No, R42, Red Robin is absolutely nothing like Applebees or TGIFridays. You're an idiot.
- Yeah, Southern Connecticut is so ghetto. I'll give you New Haven and Bridgeport, but everything else is the wealthiest area in the entire United States.
r22
- Rather than being an idiot, I felt Red Robin's "ambiance" was on a par with those chains. There's nothing particularly remarkable about Red Robin to me was my point.
R%2042
- We're talking about food, not "ambiance" ... and besides, the inside of Red Robin is nothing like Applebees. You really don't know what you're talking about.
- I've been in the Red Robin by me a couple times and hated it each time. I suppose the food was okay but it was packed with a somewhat low-brow crowd - the sort who thinks it's fine dining and can't wait until payday to eat there.
- Well aren't you just the precious little snob...
- I like Red Robin. They have a nice variety of burger styles. The burgers are huge and comes with unlimited fries. When I go, I'll split a burger and fries. It is very kid friendly so I don't normally go on the weekend.
- They are not bad, but I'll have my burger at Flemings or Ruth's Chris or another very nice local restaurant if I want to pay those prices.
- I don't care about it one way or the other but it is super-funny if you're there and that dude in the big Red Robin suit stops by your table. It goes from a hamburger-for-lunch spot into the set of a Fellini film in about five seconds.
- R50, Flemmings & Ruth's Chris have far better food in general, and their food is MUCH more expensive, including the burgers.
At least at Red Robin, you get free refills on fries and raspberry-lemonade :)
- Does anyone remember that elderly woman who wrote that restaurant review for the local Oliver Garden? It was in Minnesota or something. She was famous for 5 minutes. This thread reminded me of her.
- There is no Red Robin near me (I am also in CT) but I've seen the commercials. If it was more like Friendly's I'd try it. Applebees or TGIF, not so much.
R11, I work to make money, to have money to spend. Sometimes I don't feel like making food at home. I want someone to give me choices, make my food, bring it to me and take it away when I am done. For this I happily pay them money.
- I like the bacon guacamole burger, personally.
The California Chicken Sandwich is good too (also with bacon and guacamole).
- Cheddar's is my favorite, but Red Robin isn't bad. Something we can all agree on, though: NYC is dead.
9-11
- Just tried their fried shrimp... it was really good.
- Why spend money eating out when all of your nutritional needs can be met with an intravenous drip?
-
local Oliver Garden
LOVE their gruel!
- The food's OK, but i hate the way it's served. If I go to a sit-down restaurant, I want my burger served on a plate, not in a plastic basket.
- Fries
- I get their California wrap, but substitute diced grilled chicken for the processed sliced turkey.
It's great.
- Love their fries, love their shrimp, they have great chicken sandwiches, and their wraps are good too. Oh yeah, and their burgers are decent if not exceptional.
What's not to like? Free refills on the strawberry lemonade!
- R6, sorry that your life experience is so limited that it's led you to defend shitty, chemical laden dross.
- I go to the one near me in northern NJ and the food is pretty good. Parmesan fries are great, in fact. However, the service ranges from mildly inattentive to infuriating regardless of how busy it is, so I need to really be craving Red Robin to actually eat there.
- I know for a fact I can get a cheeseburger and fries at Flemings for $10. Probably not Ruth's Chris.
- Daycare center with hamburgers.
- R65, at my local Red Robin, the service is soemwhere between amazing (there are two really hot very attentive and flirty male waiters there), to 'suffocating' (I had one waiter stopping by every two minutes to ask if I needed anything... Jesus, go away)
Gay guy who loves his Red Robin
- OP, I'm with you. Their fries are great when dipped into ranch dressing (No, I'm not fat! I just don't eat it every day...or even month).
- I have never eaten there. Maybe one day.....
- R4 writes:
Great burgers. Great fries. What's not to like?
The prices.
Red Robin was a rip-off back around 1997, when I first went there. Burgers and fries were already up to about $10.
They were pioneers of their time.
- R14 lives alone....totally alone.
-
hookworm queens
Uh, what?
- R71, it's not that expensive. Free refills on drinks and fries, and the burgers are big and good. Hell, McDonald's will set you back $6-7 for a meal these days, spending $11-12 at Red Robin for a propr sit-down place with far better food and more options, isn't that bad at all.
- They're the only place around here that has raspberry milkshakes...
- Umm,[R73],...a queen who looks like she has hookworm. Like McCauly Kulkin in Party Monster, like Marilyn Manson,w/or w/o makeup, like Gina Davis' little boy in The Accidental Tourist, like Anne Hathaway before she dies in Les Miserables, like the exhausting gay shemales who ALWAYS have to post about how healthy they eat (thereby implying how thin they are,and as such, superior to the rest of us) every time they spot a thread about food that non-anal retentive people eat!
Like you! Does that clear it up for you dear?
Is%20it%20bees%20Eddie%3F
- Seems that OP's imagination is as small as his world. Every two or three weeks? Really?
Never heard of Red Robin or seen commercials. I've heard of Red Lobster, though.
Why support a big chain and big agribiz factory food where the workers with forced smiles don't get healthcare -- when you could probably get a better burger at a locally-owned joint?
You can get the best burger and fries you've ever had at this place...

- There was a red robin commercial a few years ago that had a hot boy in it.
-
It would be a treat here.
Yet another DL thread where shitty, awful, cheap, chemical-and-carcinogen laden food is rejoiced over and labeled "a treat."
Sad.
-
There was a red robin commercial a few years ago that had a hot boy in it.
It's this one.

- r80, there were no hot guys in that commercial. One was a child, the other was pear-shaped and blah looking.
- Oh shut your old prissy ugly face r82. The boy behind the curtain was hot. But yeah, we all know you could never get with anyone that hot.
- Food Nazi, huh?
Whatever. I don't care what you eat. I just think it's beyond sad that some bargain basement queen thinks the treat of the week is to go to the nearest Red Robin to gorge on obesity sticks, balls of fat and endless salt laden french fries.
- Somebody please give R84 another radish. I think he's starving to death.
- r84, the fact that you so naturally used the word "queen" tells us all we need to know about you.
- You know nothing about me, R86. Your tepid two dollar putdown at R83 just shows how tired you are.
Waddle back to whence you came.
- R85 I'm not a vegetarian. Or manorexic.
I just think a "treat" is good food, cooked well. I love me a big ole steak. I am not afraid of carbs.
But I love myself, and when I treat myself and take care of myself, I don't do it from the Dollar Menu at McDonald's. If I'm a big prisspot or bitch for having self worth and valuing myself, then so be it.
-
If I'm a big prisspot or bitch for having self worth and valuing myself, then so be it.
I doubt that anyone here objects to you having self worth and valuing yourself. What is offensive is that you think you have a right to make decisions for other people.
- r87's used of "tired" is another giveaway. You're revealing far more than you seem to know.
- R90 = apparently working for the Psychic Friends Network. She knows ALLLLLLL sorts of things about me!
- r91, NO ONE uses the term "tired" that way except a certain kind of person. They are always boner killers
- Thanks for the free reading, Miss Cleo.
R92
- They have the best ketchup too.
- Kindly shut the fuck up, r77.
- Food Nazis are so fucking tedious... so closed-minded, judgmental, and such bitchy hateful harpies.
- Kindly eat shit, r95. Oh, wait. You already are.
r77
- (NOT BRACKETING,JFC!!!),dear r79,r84,r87,r88,r89 JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!?!?
One of the reasons you are thin and yet alone,is you are the sort of person who is not satisfied with being practically perfect in every way.
You are pathologically compelled to impose your perfection on other people.
Case in point: extolling the virtues of good nutrition and healthy food,on threads about fast/junk/unhealthy food.
I recognize your shrill sanctimonious preaching from the McDonalds thread(among others).
It took me awhile to learn to control these same impulses myself. Once I realized people avoid the person who always has THE ANSWER TO A QUESTION NOBODY ASKED,I began to catch myself closing my mouth just before I felt myself about to put my two cents worth into the conversation.
Sometimes people just want to talk about onion rings,or bacon, without some Debby Downer Jr. ranting about carcinogens and salt! YUM!?

- God bless you, R98. Thank you.
- Kindly take the stick out of your ass, r97.
Your mood will improve.
- bump for R98
- R98 Honey, that's a whole lot of assumptions. I am not alone, thanks for asking (five year anniversary coming soon).
I'm not imposing my perfection on anyone, but of course, any dissent is automatically interpreted that way by pissy bitches like you who have a deep seated need for everyone and everything to be the same and agree.
I am not perfect, by any means. I don't assume I have the answer to everything.
But I think you miss the point. When people are saying, "I treat myself with really cheap food" it says VERY DEEP things about how they seem themselves, and how they value themselves. And that is what is making you really angry. Because you know that's true.
Love yourself, folks.
Smooches.

No, actually it doesn't. Apparently it makes YOU so angry you can't keep from balling your fists and pounding out shrill screeds on your keyboard, and it says things VERY DEEP about what a horrible, annoying person you are.
You're projecting.
- See a therapist, R103. You have issues.
I'm very happy.
