• I have, at this late date, come to the realization that one's sexuality is not private. It is just part of who we are, like having brown hair or brown eyes or being tall or being a woman. Whom we choose to have sex with, what we do when we have sex -- those things are private. But our basic sexuality? No, that is public. To share, to an astounding degree, all aspects of one's health but then to claim privacy for something much less intimate seems just crazy at this point.

• It's harder for a black person or any minority to come out than it is for anyone white. It is not a level playing field. I can fully understand Roberts relutance to do so. There are no huge black lesbians in the media. It's a lot to ask to be the one to break through. That's why I have the utmost respect for Lemon on CNN, who was incredibly brave to do what he did, even though I don't think he's been given nearly as much credit and respect as he deserves. I remember when Queen Latifah was going to finally come out, and the crass "Who cares" type remarks that were posted here and on other web sites. No doubt she saw them, and that might have influenced her decision to remain closed on the subject. You can't bitch and moan that so few minorites are out and proud and then shit all over the ones that attempt to do so. Or try and pretend that it isn't as groundbreaking as it is.

• She's ugly so I can see why people may think she's a lesbian. But I don't think she is. She's actually a good reporter.
