• They are literally working day and night building his "private equestrian complex" out in the Hamptons. I can hear them sawing and hammering 7 days a week even in the darkest of winter nights at 7:30 pm. And the day after the blizzard I could hear work going on over there. Matt's in a big hurry to get that place finished.

• When are they going to understand? Those morning chat/"news" shows have audiences mostly comprised of women over the age of 35. Every time they publicly fire their female 35+ on-air talent and replace them with younger women, they re-enact every older woman's most primal fear. Their audience experiences the firing of Jane Pauley, Ann Curry, et al as a betrayal of THEMSELVES. Of course they abandon the show that just (to their mind) abandoned them. You'd think they'd have learned their lesson 24 years ago with the Pauley/Norville debacle, but no.

• I'm always happy NOT to see Matt Lauer on the Today show. Not there on Fridays? Great!! I wish he would take more days off each week -- like all of them.
