• I really liked some of her older songs which were on the "B" sides of John's 45s. Like "Who has seen the wind" and "Listen the snow is falling" a lovely holiday song. Her book "Grapefruit" was interesting too.

• Was she really as bad as the press made her out to be? Or did she get a bum rap

• No one would give a flying fuck about her if John Lennon hadn't been stupid enough to marry her. The woman is a horror story, and John Lennon's murder didn't change that at all.

• R9, Ono was a respected artist before Lennon. She came from a wealthy family. People forget that Lennon chose to be with her, she didn't 'need' him. Listen to her stuff when he died. They shared love. Lennon got just as much from her as she did from Lennon.

• Yoko's family was not just wealthy, they had imperial connections. Yoko went to school as a child with one of the emperor's sons and her family can trace their lineage back almost a thousand years. She wasn't considered a social climber in Japan, her family WAS polite society.

• "Ono was a respected artist before Lennon" No, she wasn't. She wasn't respected at all. She was good at getting attention (she would do outrageous things to get; she's like Madonna in that regard) but she was not regarded as having any great talent. "People forget that Lennon chose to be with her, she didn't 'need' him." Oh, she needed him all right. She needed him a LOT. It's been well documented that Yoko laid siege to Lennon after meeting him. Her own husband encouraged her, knowing that Lennon was loaded and could be a good source of income for them both. She sent him weird, suggestive things (a Kotex box containing a broken teacup smeared with red paint), wrote him notes that made no sense, followed him, begged him to support her artistically, and sometimes threatened suicide if he didn't. Lennon, being a very emotionally disturbed type himself, found all this bizarre behavior intriguing. Needing to be dominated, he finally found a woman who was controlling enough to tell him what to do and take charge of his life. Theirs was a sick, co-dependent relationship. But she got what she wanted from it: to be rich and famous.
