Steve Pond has a report. But it looks like Ben Affleck's "Argo" -- which will win best picture at next week's Oscars -- will stop "Lincoln" from winning adapted screenplay. "Driving Miss Daisy," the 1989 best-picture winner, was the last to win the top award without a nominated director. Oliver Stone was that year's best director for "Born on the Fourth of July." "Daisy" rebounded with winning over "Born" in adapted screenplay. So, that's how Oscar will vicariously try to make up to Ben Affleck. In original screenplay, "Zero Dark Thirty" won original screenplay. But I wouldn't be surprised if "Amour" wins at next Sunday's [02.24.2013] Oscar ceremony.
