I bought a beautiful light wool Ermenegildo Zegna sports coat in great condition today at a consignment store for $20. It's in great condition and fits perfectly in the arms and chest, but it buckles in the shoulders. Is that an easy thing to get tailored? I couldn't determine the size (it was in Italian) but when I got home I looked it up on the Internet and the American/English equivalent of the jacket size is a 44 Long, and I'm usually a 43 Long.
No, shoulders are the thing that can't be altered. I bet you can profit by selling it on eBay, though.
I think I worded it wrong. The shoulders themselves are okay: it's just got too much fabric at the back between the shoulder blades.
Yes, that can be fixed
If it's the shoulders, they can be altered too. R1 probably thought he was being clever.
It's going to cost you more than your purchase price in alterations.
