I've been craving an adult beverage all day but I've already drank 3 times this week and I don't want to go for a fourth. Also, I can never just have one or two glasses. I always have to get good and toasted.
Sorry, you're an alcoholic.
After I couldn't get pot anymore, I'd binge drink for a few months every year until I'd inevitably burn out on it from the hangovers. But I think I'm through with drinking now for good. I HATE the hangovers and I also always have to eat something sweet while drinking to counter the taste. Now eating all that sweet stuff makes my teeth hurt. It just isn't worth it anymore. I'll wait until they legalize pot.
You know you're an alcoholic when you don't even get hangovers anymore.
r1 drinks for "medicinal purposes".
No, I drink because I like it.
Oh nos! You're going to awake the AA contingent!
Same here OP, that's why I'm staying in tonight. But boy are people pissing me off today. A drink sounds sooo good! I went out on Tuesday and Wednesday so I'm waiting until ... sometime next week. I'm in my 30's and drinking makes me tired, unproductive, and sick the next day now. It really bums me out.
r1, weren't you quoting Margaret from the movie "9 to 5"? I was just playing along...I thought.
9 to 5, wish it was on TV. Beyonce is on so, no thanks.
If I could just skip the shitty feeling the next day I'd drink every night. I just can't stand getting up for work hungover and then feeling lethargic and anxious on the job. Ugh.
Something light like a white wine spritzer shouldn't be too bad.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying alcoholic beverages regularly. The fact that you are unable to stop after one or two is a sign of a problem however. You should be able to enjoy a nice drink, not feel the need to get drunk every time you drunk.
C'mon over! Pick up some chips on the way over and Liza's waiting on her stoop so give her a ride.
