- Oh.
- We can rule out overspending on hair plugs
- [quote]Fraser has three young sons -- Griffin, 10, Holden, 8, and Leland, 6 -- with his former wife of nine years, whom he met in 1993 at a barbecue thrown by Winona Ryder.
That woman is bad luck to everyone
- I wonder where Winona steals the meat for her barbecues?
- [quote]...the "George of the Jungle" actor cited numerous medical issues for putting a "considerable" limit on his ability to earn money and star in as many flicks as he used to.
This probably explains at last the drastic (and unsettling) recent changes to his appearance. He may be taking drugs that are bloating him. Poor guy.
- That's not child support; that's pure extortion.
Bitch needs to get a JOB
- That is way too much money for child support. And not that I follow his career, but it doesn't seem like his been in the public eye much for several years. Perhaps he should have thought twice before having that last kid who is six years old.
I know it sounds rather cold, but was Fraser making enough money to have another kid six years ago. Straight people always expect everyone to have sympathy because that have kids. Well, my suggestion is don't have kids--or at least limited your goddamn offspring to a financially manageable number.
I'd like to have a new car, but I don't just fuck away and then hope I can make payments on my new car. So for now, I keep my old car.
- I saw that out of the corner of my eye and thought the pics was one of the London brothers..

- Wow, fascinating story, but not surprising.
As with those with huge salaries of just a few years ago the times have changed and the money is just not there.
Along those lines, those who live off others need to re-adjust to the new reality. Brendan's greedy wife will have to deal with it.
- AMEN R6. I can't believe the way men get shafted. Equality my ass.
- Does this mean he's a closet case? One of us?
One of us??
One of us??
One of us??
(trying for horror film inflection here; sorry.)
Hopeful
- God knows his career isn't in high gear these days! But he's got kids to support, maybe he should get off his ass and do some supporting roles.
As far as the extortionate child support payments... with all the gay rumors about him, I bet that money is meant to buy silence as well as support the kids.
They both need a bitchslap!
- Time for Encino Man II!!
Paulie%20Shore
- I miss-read thinking it was 900.00 annual child support! I mean THAT`S REALLY broke!
- "Still, the "George of the Jungle" actor cited numerous medical issues for putting a "considerable" limit on his ability to earn money and star in as many flicks as he used to."
Numerous medical issues?" I wonder what in the world THAT means. Does he have a serious illness? Cancer? AIDS? Who knows?
Here's where the greedy wife is coming from: she's saying that she wants to continue to live the lifestyle to which she and her little ones has become accustomed to, and only $900,000 a year will suffice for their living expenses.
I remember seeing pictures of them together when they were still married. She's a blonde, big-chested generic-bimbo type, not really what you'd call good-looking, just that specific type that appeals a lot of men. I heard at some function Bill Clinton was quite smitten with her and gave her a LOT of attention
- [quote]Bill Clinton was quite smitten with her and gave her a LOT of attention
Typical Freeper blames the Democrats for everything!
- I guess that means he's going to have to start taking roles for the money.
- Didn't William Hurt testify in court regarding financial support of his alleged children much to the dismay of Jonathon Hadary? I guess it's better to be a deadbeat dad to kids that you never bred than be a homo.
- Why would the kids need almost a million dollars per year in support? Are they paying school tuition for all their friends?
- Child Support should max at $25K per year, per kid.
Kids don't NEED anything else.
Remember, child support is in addition to Alimony.
- I agree with R5.
No way, too, she should get that much.
- All the good roles are on the small screen, see Tony Goldwyn. Surely Fraser can find himself some work on television.
Also, IIRC he has quite a distinctive voice--voiceovers are always in demand for commercials and animated films.
Neither of the above options causes to much a strain to present a health liability. Methinks he's sitting this dance out until the judge has ruled.
ElderHag (and damn proud of it)
- One of my old bosses paid $20K/yr for preschool for his kids. Brendan has 3. I can imagine what other bullshit expenses a Hollywood kid needs.
Also there was a BI on CDAN about an actor who made is wife give up her career so she could give all her focus to him. Most people guessed Brendan.
So I imagine she is kinda pissed about all of that if it's true.
It's about time for him to go on a diet anyway.
- R23 Make that $20K/yr per kid.
- Does the frau work?
- Afton Smith? Was she played by Audrey Landers?
- wonder where in Connecticut they live?
- 900,000 a year? Can't the kids just eat cake?
- Kent, R27. He was in court in Stamford, so I would imagine the ex and kids are in Fairfield County.
- I did the litigation support for his divorce.
Brendan and his wife spent the money as fast as it came in, and the judge knew he could not afford the child support, but his ex wifes lawyer was able to get it set at the high of his career.
They lived in Woodbury.
- [quote]Didn't William Hurt testify in court regarding financial support of his alleged children much to the dismay of Jonathon Hadary?
Ugh. Jonathan Hadary is fugly. Why would William Hurt be his boyfriend?
- Serves him right for being a breeder when he could have had a 5 star elder sugar daddie like me to take care of him----if he would only return my phone calls!
D. Warbucks
- $900,000 / year child support? What are they feeding the kid?
- Are you sure about that, R30? I live in Woodbury, and in a town of fewer than 10,000 I find it hard to believe I didn't know that.
R29
- I don't understand the bit about Jonathan Hadary and William Hurt. What is r18 trying to say?
- 25k per year/per kid is WAY too low.
- R29/34, that was the address in the court papers. Perhaps it was the address of their attorney.
R30
- His lazy, entitled bitch of a wife needs to get off her ass and get a fucking job. What is it with so many women who think just because they got married and shat out some kids it means they get a free ride for life?
- Oy, they named one of their sons "Leland"? Just, no.
- Yes she does
And so does he
- Fraser was attached to a TNT pilot earlier this year but left after "creative differences." I wonder if that's the whole story.
http://www.deadline.com/2012/11/brendan-fraser-tnt-pilot-legends-exit/
- Fraser's not gay.
Also, he comes from a well-connected wealthy family. That crowd knows how to hide assets. I doubt he is hurting financially, probably has his $$$ stashed away safely.
Someone%20who%20knows%20one%20of%20his%20friends
- "showrunner Gordon did not see eye to eye on the character and couldn’t bridge their creative differences."
Gordon saw the character as a normal size man, Brendan saw him more as a Kevin James sized man.
- Also, forgot to add: To give you an idea of how rich his family is, Fraser went to a private school in Toronto which costs $50,000 a year to attend and it's very exclusive.
- Private school tuition can exceed $25,000. Alimony these days is usually limited to a brief period after the divorce.
- Since when does not being able to afford $900,000 a year to spend on your child qualify as being broke?
- 900,000 a year in child support is insane. Dave Foley from Talk Radio and Kid in the Hall has similar problems. Support was set when he was making good coin but he isn't anymore - but the amount the court says he has to pay hasn't changed. Last I heard, he could be arrested for entering Canada and can't even see his kids.
- Sounds like the horrible little woman is a golddigger.
- Jeremy Renner should take notice. Run.
- >>Since when does not being able to afford $900,000 a year to spend on your child qualify
as being broke?
after having to pay it, year after year, sick, unemployed or whatever. File a motion to reduce, BUT you have to continue to pay that amount until the judge says otherwise.
He should have asked for physical custody.
- Tracey Ullman pulled up his shirt and revealed his girdle on Jimmy Kimmel a few years ago.
- This is why 'mos shouldn't have kids.
That kid has a LIFESTYLE. If he was living with the dad he'd be living large. There's no reason why the kid should suffer. The children are entitled to the same lifestyle they'd have if they were with the wealthy parent.
You will notice Deadbeat Fraser doesn't ask for custody of the kid and let the wife pay support. He doesn't want to rear the children but he wants the benefits.
He's a loser. Probably has AIDS too.
- R52=Afton Smith

- 900K does seem to be a lot, but if he's hiding money, I hope her lawyers move heaven and earth to expose him and that he gets in serious trouble for it. That's a shady thing to do when your kids are involved.
- He has 11 new projects coming out in 2013/2014. Six of them are almost completed. Two of the movies look okay and have good costars. the rest are straight to video or to a cable movie channel. It isn't like he worked that much in the last couple of years either
He did not work in 2012. He only did 1 project in 2011 and only 2 projects in 2010 and 2009. If he could afford to pay that in 2009/2010 he can afford to pay that now with 11 projects - half of them almost completed (that means he was paid for them)

- Oh I'm sorry;I misread the headline...I THOUGHT it said "Brendan Fraser says he's BALD"
And I was thinking..."good for him for finally admitting it"!
- He was called gay in a list that was once on gawker a couple of years ago. He has three older brothers and grew up as the youngest child of his family, I think, which both might increase the probability to be gay. He played the love interest of Ian McKellen in a movie about the director of Frankenstein and was in a franchise from Disney, a company that has many homosexuals and quite a pedophilia problem (of course, pedophilia and homosexuality are very different things).
His costar in one Mummy movie, Maria Bello, has serious lesbian rumours about her and Rachel Weisz, in the other two, seems to costar and have relationships with and crushes on gays/bis regularly, Will & Grace.
He often played outsiders and aliens.
Foreign
- Omg - what happened to him - or shall I say his chin?
Bald guys can look sexy - but he hasn't aged well at all.
He used to be a real hottie too...

- Rich male celebs should just have their kids through surrogacy and be the sole parent. And if he's considering marriage, the woman should a agree to a pre-nup and no additional kids, or she isn't the one for him.
- It amazes me how stupid and clueless most of you are. Brendan Fraser is a 44 year-old man. Just because he's an actor doesn't mean he is immune from health issues. Once you reach your mid to late 30s, all the generic deficiencies you've inherited from your family start to appear - he could have back problems, heart disease, diabetes, all kinds of stuff. I can't believe how out of touch most of you are with what actually happens to your maturing bodies.
- I knew him when he was a drama student at Cornish in Seattle before he got famous. Nice kid. Not gay.
- [quote] Griffin? Holden? Leland?
Really?!?
- Ah, R52. There is so much wrong with you it would take three lifetimes to fix it.
- Is Brendan half-Jewish?
- Most fathers do not want to rear their own children.
- Not true, R65. My father "reared" me.

Just in Child Support?
Think about that
Compare it to what you, or anyone you personally know, makes in a decade.
And that's Only for a roof over their heads, schooling, doctors, toys & tummies fed.
Explain the acceptability of that to anyone who thinks we don't have a wealth distribution problem in this country?
Sheesh
- He's career's in serious decline, and he's lost his looks. I doubt he is still making a million a year, so he's right to complain, she's bleeding him dry.
- [quote]Once you reach your mid to late 30s, all the generic deficiencies you've inherited from your family start to appear.
Not true at all.
- [quote]900K does seem to be a lot, but if he's hiding money, I hope her lawyers move heaven and earth to expose him and that he gets in serious trouble for it. That's a shady thing to do when your kids are involved.
Imagine cheating them out of their $900,000 per year. Cheap, heartless bastard.
- That's about 2500 a day to raise the kids.
- Like all of that $900k is going to his kids and not his ex-wife.
- Oh really, R10? You think this a men vs. women situation?
Madonna had to give around 90M to that mediocre director.
Britney Spears: $40K/month for that white trash, jobless loser.
Kate Walsh: $627,000 plus half the residuals for the Private Practice episodes Walsh appeared in while married (15 months) - no kids)
Roseanne had to pay that hideous oaf Tom Arnold $50M in 1994 - no kids.
Anna Faris: 900K + property and acting royalties - no kids.
Kim Basinger: First Husband. $12K a month in 1989 - no kids.
Anne Heche: 275K + $3700/month
Janet Jackson: $10M to Rene Elizondo 2003 - no kids.
Jennifer Lopez: Chris Judd $14M in 2002 - no kids

- $900,000 a year child support is INSANE.
I am with Brendan Fraser on this one. Even the fucking Royal Family children don't require that much money.
His ex-wife must be a huge gold digger. I have no empathy with her.
- I don't care if he is hiding some money. $900,000 a year in child support is WACK. It is absurd.
- LOL R66.
I'll always be grateful to Brendan for giving me hours and hours of pleasure by baring his backside with Matt Damon and Chris O'Donnell in "School Ties".

- Guys, guys, guys. Don't you get it? It was a HUSH UP agreement so she won't spill some dirty little secret(s) about him that came to light during their marriage.
Either he's a total gay man slut, HIV positive, a Satanist, or a crazy Spice Girls memorabilia collector.
- I went to Cornish, too - I never met Fraser, he was a few years after me. It was so totally weird, there were seemingly no gay men there. Would you agree with me? I couldn't figure it out.
All the men worked hard to promote a totally straight persona, even in the dance program. Well, they were actors, after all, perhaps that explains it.
- Much like his belt buckle and the chair he was sitting in, Brendan is BROKE.
