He was one of the world's richest people with a net worth of 4 billion dollars. What astounds me is that the guy was an engineer and an aviator and yet was able to direct and produce films. Is it possible for an engineer to direct films? It strikes me as something very easy to do. Considering so many actors want to do it and their dreams of directing are actually realized.
I can do that.
I think he got into the film business to be around the starlets. He liked fucking movie stars.
The films he made were crap and required little than saying, "walk over there, say your lines, then sit down"
He ran RKO into the ground.

Madonna directed a film, for fuck's sake!
I've heard that when amateurs like Madonna and Tom Ford want to direct films, what they do is hire a superb cinematographer and a top editor, who will basically make the film. Really, those two will do 90% of the director's real job, not that they can actually save a film from someone like Madge.
