State of the Union hangout - let's discuss their outfits
especially any Supreme Court wacky headgear
Is Aaron Schock wearing a fascinator? Does Miss Lindsay have a parasol?
Green ribbons are in honor of Sandy Hook victims.
Seen sporting the lapels of John McCain and Lindey Graham, who appeared to be embracing one another.
Paul Ryan, wearing a smug grin.
MO is gorgeous. I adore her.
Wow, y'all were right. Kerry's wig is *terrible*! Did he swipe it from Mother Jefferson?
Who's the sexiest cabinet member? Janet Napolitano?
Darrell Issa, wearing something that looks like a toupee
OMG, y'all were right. Kerry's wig is *terrible*! Did he swipe it from Mother Jefferson?
When did they start wearing lavender ties?
Michelle's dress is SO inappropriate for the event.
Yup, Janet Napolitano. He's a hottie alright!
Rachel reporting someone involved in the speech formation--on how Obama would address the Republican opposition in the speech--quoted some 2,500 year old Chinese saying
"Build your opponents a golden bridge to retreat across"
She's worn better but I don't mind the First Lady's dress.
Purple is very "in" at the moment.
Yeah, Michelle looks like she's going out for a night on the town.
Maybe afterward they are, but not a good look for this occasion.
Ick, Cantor just kissed Sheila Jackson Lee while she looked like she was about to orgasm looking at the president.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg--QUITE the chunky necklace. You go, girl!
Did the President just give Biden and Boehner gift certificates to the Olive Garden?
There is really only one burning question for this thread -
What is Ted Nugent wearing?
I miss the old days when Michele Bachmann used to get handsy with W.
Paul Ryan always looks like he's pouting.
R17, tradition dictates that the President hand a copy of his speech to the President of the Senate (VP Biden) and the Speaker of the House (Boehner) prior to delivering his State of the Union speech.
Thanks to John Boehner for the pink-tie shout out to the gays. Or breast cancer.
Paul Ryan always looks like a smug asshole.
Paul Ryan reminds me of a know it all HS civics teacher with his pursed lips, pointing finger and self important voice.
R22 Boehner should be wearing orange for skin cancer awareness. Oh wait ... he is.
I wonder how much Obama weighs.
Kathleen Sebelius' hair is almost as blue as her outfit.
He is orange, isn't he?
Waaaaay to much makeup on many.
Tim Cook from Apple--is he the first out Fortune 500 CEO?--in what looked like a black suit and a black tie???
President talking about climate change and John Boehner is frowning.
John Boehner also clearly has steak stuck in his teeth somewhere.
Every time Obama says something Boehner doesn't agree with, the right side of Boehner's mouth twitches.
This speech is really boring and lackluster. The ideas are fine but the delivery is zzzzz.
Boehner always looks like he would rather be at a bar, swilling drinks and ogling cocktail waitresses.
Boehner's face goes alternately from thundercloud to disdain. He's hilarious.
Do you think the North Korea shit distracted his prep? This speech is more first debate than Inauguration.
Who was the woman in the white snow suit shaking her head about the demand that the Paycheck Fairness Act be signed?
Joe Biden looks confident and happy while Boehmer looks like a person with low self-esteem who badly needs to take a shit.
Someone should drop a house on Paul Ryan.
I think Boehner is going to hurl.
Allergies, Mr. Speaker?
Biden's eyes look like something out of the X Files.
Boehner just started rapid blinking, like Pelosi levels.
Poor Chuck Schumer is stuck between McCain and Miss Lindsey.
[quote]Boehner just started rapid blinking
He's signaling his handlers.
Susan Rice looks prettier than I've ever seen her in that white jacket.
Why in the world are Republican NOT clapping for caring for veterans?
Mother Jefferson!! LMAO!
I've written this on DL before, but I don't think Ruth Bader Ginsburg will make it through 2013 alive.
Is Biden's chair taller than Boehner's or John Boy slouching?
Poor thing, she looks like she is barely hanging on!
My god, how old is she?
They deserve a vote!
Justice Ginsberg is 89 years old and quite ill.
R52, she's 79 (not 89).
That 102 year old lady was best dressed.
oops mean to type 79, stand corrected
Boehner was wearing a button-down collar with a tie. I've never liked that look. The collar bulges out instead of lying flat.
She is beautiful, R56.
He did save the best for last.
I did get teary-eyed.
Jill Biden is very pretty!
R18, the asshole rep who brought him tweeted a pic. He also tweets endlessly - including during the entire SOTU:
Marco Rubio wearing the same light blue tie as Obama
Marco Rubio has giant elephant sized ears.
Rubio sweating like Albert Brooks in "Broadcast News"
Bad case of drymouth too.
Why does he keep touching his face? He sounds like he needs a drink of water.
Loser had to take a drink.
I thought these things were pre-recorded?
They should be.....
Well, one way of solving drymouth is to stop talking, bend out of frame, get a water bottle, and glug some down while staring soulfully into the camera!
Shoulda put the water closer at hand.
He's a tool.
I feel silly laughing at that drink of vodka, er, water, but that was hilarious.
I thought Rubio was the GOP's response to Obama? He used the exact same false and debunked GOP talking points that just got them defeated in 2012.
That, combined with the weird facial expressions and water grabbing moment made me feel embarrassed for him.
Couldn't he have had a GLASS by him instead of that cheap plastic bottle?
Republican't tactics haven't changed!
In all fairness, Nancy Pelosi being interviewed on MSNBC doesn't sound too sharp. "President Obama had a central theme . . . " and then she couldn't remember it!
She looks fantastic though. Her colorist is quite good, and her makeup is done well for broadcast-TV lights.
Durbin was hiding his face. This bodes ill.
These "rising star" GOP presidential hopefuls always shoot themselves in the foot when they do a State of the Union rebuttal (Remember Bobby Jindal's pathetic display?). I love it.
Just switched to Fox News--no Rand Paul. What's up?

More "government is not the solution" shit from Florida Republican and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio who actually cops to using government to aid him in funding his higher education.
What a delusional, out of touch cult -- passing as a major political party!
R45 he's babysitting.
Was Aaron Schock wearing a pin-on or a wrist corsage tonight?
"Amateur Night at the Apollo"
[quote]Marco Rubio who actually cops to using government to aid him in funding his higher education.
He's not the only one this delusional:
@edshow: Shorter Rubio Speech: take Mitt Romney's policies and just add water #SOTU”
I love the way all those women grab Obama and hug & kiss him. I thought it was just the members of Congress, and then I saw Justice Ginsberg hugging him for dear life. You know he gets at least two more appointments? He needs to get them done before the 2014 elections. The Senate is his right now. He should find someone who is African American and Hispanic, and Gay.
R90 and young and healthy
"Justice Ginsberg hugging him for dear life"
The poor dear couldn't move for fear of collapsing.
Her necklace made her hunchback
Rep. Barbara Lee from Texas is being interviewed live from the Capitol--seems pretty freakin' late. She looks very pretty.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
