• R3 - that's a really nasty thing to say. She's worked really hard for over 15 years to get where she is. Does anyone remember her in the credits of Charlie's Angels? Hilarious and succint. I would love to see her and her cousin Jenny in a comedy - they're both so good.

• Wasn't there a Blind Item recently about her husband cheating on her with Cousin Jenny? Granted it was CDAN, so there's a 97.6% cahance it was entirely fabricated.

• Wow, everyone is talking about that Rex Reed piece. His career is over. He'll be fired within the week.

• When Rex Reed reviewed Lee Radziwill in the TV production of Laura, he said she killed the character of Laura so completely that he would forever think of her as "Lee Harvey Radziwill." It's what he does. He will survive.

• I thought the trailer of "Identity Thief" was obnoxious.

• I like her. She's a genuinely gifted comedic actress. How many other "stars" can you say that about?

• I love her and she works hard in Identity Thief to wring some laughs but god it's a terrible lazy stupid movie.

• I'm all for fat actors, especially the comedic kind. But I feel she's one-note. And in her latest movie they let her ad lib so much she sounds deranged. She's just this year's Fat Poster Girl, for 200 lb. fraus who "have found their natural weight".

• It's kind of ridiculous that we are even talking about her weight. We should be talking about her as an actress. I certainly wouldn't like it if people kept bringing up my sexual identity who I was sleeping with.

• She's funny and different. I believe she deserved the Supporting Actress Oscar that year. I sure do. She created a real character who got some of the biggest laughs in that movie. She is very, very talented and if I ever do see this movie (and I just might) it will be 100% because of her. The one downside of the success of this movie is that it's going to convince some studio head somewhere that the one-note no talent Jason Bateman is a star. God does he play the same bland Everyman in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE he does.

• Identity Thief may very well beat Die Hard 5 in its second weekend which is unbelievable. It's already made close to 80 mil. in only two weeks. Not only is Melissa McCarthy a star, she's a bigger star than Bruce Willis as his most famous character. Prepare to see her everywhere.

Audiences didn’t either. That’s why the Melissa McCarthy/Jason Bateman starrer Identity Thief will be #1 with $4.0M entering its third weekend and at least $13M through Sunday. One rival studio thinks the frenemies comedy did more Friday and can exceed $20M this weekend. Let’s see. After that there’s a lot of confusion over numbers and placements. • R35, Thanks for the link to Hollywood Deadline. I will start reading this site regularly. When is it determined that McCarthy is a star, rather than the fact that the flick was very heavily promoted, like as a trailer before movies for months and months, and that people are desperate to laugh at anything? Most said it wasn't very good but that they wanted to see a comedy rather than an action flick.
