HBO documentary “About Face: Supermodels Then and Now.”
Has anyone seen this? And can you explain Jerry Hall's personality to me? Isabella Rossellini is smart and thoughtful.
Why, what did you think of Jerry? Did you like her or hate her in this?
Loved seeing the middle-age Lisa Taylor. She was stunning in her day.
Didn't think much of Jerry. I was far more interested in what the older supermodels (before the 70s and beyond) had to say. Interesting documentary.
Isabella is nuts.
Did they mention Jean Shrimpton, the first supermodel? (Cause Lisa Fonssagrives doesn't count)
What about Dusty Anderson and Dovima?!
Such a shitty documentary. The Times really tore it a new one. Bad editing. It kept flitting around from subject to subject.
I didn't expect much from a documentary about aging models. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I loved Jerry Hall. I thought she was an eccentric hoot. Worth checking out on demand or with HBO to go.
Jerry was kind of ditzy and exaggerated, big gestures, crazy accent (Texas plus whatever). Weak as a documentary but fun to watch. Paulina had frumpy hair.
Isabella looked very masculine with her short hair and suit.
Jerry Hall shouldn't have moved to London. She's never been accepted there and she would have been much more successful if she'd stayed in the US.
