Watching now for the first time. Why isn't this beloved camp classic more discussed on DL? Right up there with Mommie Dearest & Showgirls in hilarity. Did Barbra really think this would get her an Oscar? Playing a foul-mouthed whore? She doesn't just chew the scenery. She inhales it, pukes it back up and licks it back down again. "FUCK my mother!"

• It's a terrible movie, probably her worst. All of the older characters in the movie are portrayed so hatefully. I got the impression that though Martin Ritt was billed as the director, she did most of the directing.
