I kind of agree with r34. Hollywood seems to favor guys that people can immediately identify as black or white. Its the mixed guys that they havent figured out what to do with quite yet. Multiracial women dont seem to have this problem as much. Daniel is a special case because he can look white, black, or latin depending on how the lighting is and how his hair is styled. So yes, his acting skills would have to open doors for him.

Like you said, the few minority leads (Will Smith and Jamie Foxx are the only two current ones I can think of) both started as comedians on television. Just a few years ago Patrick Wilson was a major star in multiple films opposite some of Hollywood's top leading ladies, but he seems to have fallen off the radar completely now.
