Al Gore in 2016
I just watched his interview on the Daily Show. If Hilary winds up not being healthy enough to run, I think he would be a great candidate. He's smart and he's articulate.
Okay, DLer's, flame away. Tell me why I am wrong.
- Lockbox.
- I never liked his wife
- He's fat. If he would buff up, I'd consider it.
- You post this asking to be told why you are wrong.
You clearly KNOW you are wrong.
- Old, fat, divorced.
- Kirsten Gillibrand
- I agree with you, OP. Saw him in Atlanta last night. Brilliant man, and much more charismatic than people give him credit for.
- Al Jazeera
"I invented the internet."
divorced
fucked up kids
$2K power bills at his house
etc.

- Same as Clinton and Biden, he is too old. Also I seem to remember about a sexual harassment claim, and of course the divorce which for people of his claimed religion is a sex scandal in and of itself. If the Democrats want to keep the White House on Jan. 20, 2017, they had better nominate someone who is not a loser from the past.
- I agree that he & Clinton are both too old. They'll be 69 in 2016 -- 4 years later, 73 -- 4 years after that, 77.
I'm their age & I know we've all gained wisdom -- but elders should be advisors. I want someone younger & stronger & more energetic in the White House.
- I don't want that boring mess up there as a candidate but I disagree on the age issue.
- Never going to happen!!!!!!!!!
Hillary%20Clinton%202016
- OP, he's damaged goods. 2000 ruined him. He will never been accepted.
- Agreed R13. He has waaay more baggage than Hilary.
He'll spend his whole campaign in defense mode from the right. If they think Obama is a socialist communist America hating muslim terrorist, they will have a field day with Gore.
- He caved to the Rethugs the last time he ran. He painted himself as a loser.
- Why are the current Democrats wanting to go back in history and repeat the mistakes of the past--like when the Democrats lost the White House over and over with Adlai Stevenson. Many of them wanted to lose with him again in '60, but old Joe was able to sell his son John like a box of laundry detergent.
- R8 summed it up. He did look to have a nice cock on that rolling stone cover

- I think people should know that Republicans are being paid to troll left-wing forums such as Datalounge, consistently weighing in on "Hillary is too old". They are being PAID to do this.
Hillary will be 69, which is certainly NOT too old, particularly when you consider that women live 6-8 years longer than men. Age and wisdom is an asset in every successful society and indeed it is one of the reasons we are a long-lived species, and people consistently posting otherwise (trolldar them for fun) are posting on behalf of Karl Rove (even Karl Rove is not too *old*, but he is too *evil*).
Our founding fathers were very right to have a lower age limit of 35, as well. They (older) had the wisdom to see that hot-testosteroned punks might make good fucks, but they do not make good leaders.

- I've written that Mrs. Clinton is too old many times on this website, as well as many others. Nobody has ever paid me to post my opinions before. How does one go about getting paid to post their opinions on the internet?
- Believe me, Al Gore DOES NOT want to go on that starvation diet, dye what's left of his hair (there's nothing in the back), and run again. He was a profoundly lousy candidate when he ran in 1988 and 2000. It's nothing but stress for him and he loves what he's doing now. The Clintons live, eat and breathe politics. Gore is happy to be out of it.
And puleeeze, age depends on the person. Hillary's mother lived into her nineties and was in very good shape. Joe Biden has lost a quarter of his mind at age 70.
- [quote]I think people should know that Republicans are being paid to troll left-wing forums such as Datalounge, consistently weighing in on "Hillary is too old". They are being PAID to do this.
What a silly claim. No Rethug has to be paid to put down Hillary. There are millions who are willing to do it for free.
I wish she had been president for the past four years. She did an outstanding job as Secretary of State but now it's time to look to someone younger to move into the Oval Office.
Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley (born 1963) is looking good.
- As you get older it gets harder to hide your inner queen. That's Al's biggest problem.
Alec%20Baldwin%20
- I don't think Gore wants the heartbreak of losing again. (Yes, I know he didn't really loset).
- Are there any younger candidates that have gravitas and humanity?
- He's a douche. He went around talking about global warming, just to line the pockets of his 44 waist pants the same time he ran up $10,000 per month electric bills. He is a HUGE piece of SHIT.
- If Hillary wants it, it is hers. NO matter her age.
- Hillary should be on the Supreme Court. That way when she falls, the other eight justices can help her up.
- The Dems are in some trouble for 2016, I think. Leaving Hillary to one side 9i (I doubt she has the stomach for another political campaign), we are short on governors and Senators of a likely age and temperament. There are not a lot of likely candidates on the horizon. We're definitely charisma-challenged.
What do you think of Cory Booker? Not sure I can buy him.
- Booker is a very good phony.
- I think his political career is long dead, he is divorced and he was accused of harrassing a massage therapist in a hotel room which is sleazier than an affair. He is allowed to talk about global warming but his status has diminished greatly since his movie came out.
- Gore, Clinton, Biden. Weird, old, buffoon.
The dems are going to be in for a tough time in 2016. If Obama has a bad last 2 years of his presidency (like Clinton and Bush), as long as the Republicans have someone decent, they will take the presidency in 2012.
- thoroughly useless thread
- Fuck off, freepers - Al, Hilary and Joe are great candidates. What do you have - Rand Paul? Sarah Palin? Christie, who votes against same-sex marriage?
- Except, r31, the Republicans didn't take the presidency in 2012.
We're talking about 2016 here, and Hillary will win in a landslide.
Regardless of Obama's performance in 2014-15 (see, I can count).
If Germany and Britain can have female leaders, so can the USA. People do want to see a female prez, for the novelty factor alone. On top of that, Hillary is the most capable candidate on either side.
She will run, and she will win.
- He is smart and articulate but I'm not sure he could win. At all.
- There is no doubt in my mind that Al Gore would make a great president, but we have a much stronger candidate for 2016 in Hillary Clinton.
Maybe he could be her VP pick? ;) Is that even possible?
- Old rich white man, entitled son of a prominent politician. Romney or Gore?
- LOL, R36. Gore was pissed that Bill went to Hillary more than him when he WAS VP. There's no love lost between Gore and the Clintons.
- Oh, it will be a woman winning in 2016 all right, but it won't be Hillary. Even the Repugs will search this time for the right woman because it's so obvious it's time ---Black male (check), now preferably a black woman (double check).
- "Kirsten Gillibrand"
Um, no. No woman with the voice of a four year old girl will ever win the presidency.
- I fully believe Hillary will run if she is healthy enough, and hopefully, win. But no can take their health for granted as one gets older.
It's true Gore has baggage (as does everyone). What matters is how one handles that baggage and whether your opponent can take advantage of it.
I've always thought Hillary would be a great president, but I didn't used to think that of Gore. However, after seeing him the other night on the Daily Show, I've changed my mind.
I would be happy with either one of them.
OP
- Current was a major debacle. Al's simply not presidential material.
Keith%20O.
- Yeah. R40 has it right. I can listen to her speak more than three words before I have to run.
- Current was a $100 million dollar debacle, bought out by Al Jazeera.
- Would Tipper have to return to him before he could or would run? which I don't think he will.
Anonymous
- "I would be happy with either one of them."
I feel the same way, OP.
- Thanks for your insights R33. You loser.
- Hillary knows how to fight. Al sits back, thinks about it, and may respond in a week or so.
Both are too old. There needs to be a younger dynamic candidate who knows how to kick DINO ass and get them moving.
Right now, it's time to concentrate on dumping Rethuglicans from Congress and Governors' offices.
- Algore? Are you serial?
The%20Internet
- Look at Chuck Hagel this week. He seemed like a 66 year old of my great grandfather's generation -- scatter brained, incapable of forming a coherent sentence. Neither Al nor Hillary have aged as badly.
"Al sits back, thinks about it, and may respond in a week or so."
Obama does that too and he's only 51.
- Al has passed his "sell by" date.
- Yeah, Al is no longer fresh. He's a stale doughnut. Okay, he's a whole bag of stale doughnuts.
- If you vote Republican, then it is YOU who are the "loser", R47.
"Loser" is such a late 1980s, Top Gun, Rambo-Reaganite, neo-con sort of word, don't you think? It reminds me of those fake inspirational posters that sell to corporations. "You will WIN and SUCCEED". It's so us/them, U.S./vs. Arabs (commies, the French, whatever).

- Al Gore? That ship has sailed. He couldn't even beat George W. Bush! LOL .. Yeah I know about Florida. Fact is, he lost.
Can't we move on to people who actually have a change to win?
- [quote]Hillary will be 69, which is certainly NOT too old
And remember that Hillary does not turn 69 until December 2016 which means that she will actually be 68 during the election period .
- Actually, saw him on TV the other night while at the gym and thought he looked GREAT. He's still got some weight on him, but seems healthy. Love him but not the most dynamic type of guy.
- No bachelor President has been elected since Buchanan in the 1800's. Americans require their Presidents to be married.
- I still want to see his cock.
