Al Gore in 2016

I just watched his interview on the Daily Show. If Hilary winds up not being healthy enough to run, I think he would be a great candidate. He's smart and he's articulate. Okay, DLer's, flame away. Tell me why I am wrong.

• I think people should know that Republicans are being paid to troll left-wing forums such as Datalounge, consistently weighing in on "Hillary is too old". They are being PAID to do this. Hillary will be 69, which is certainly NOT too old, particularly when you consider that women live 6-8 years longer than men. Age and wisdom is an asset in every successful society and indeed it is one of the reasons we are a long-lived species, and people consistently posting otherwise (trolldar them for fun) are posting on behalf of Karl Rove (even Karl Rove is not too *old*, but he is too *evil*). Our founding fathers were very right to have a lower age limit of 35, as well. They (older) had the wisdom to see that hot-testosteroned punks might make good fucks, but they do not make good leaders.

• Except, r31, the Republicans didn't take the presidency in 2012. We're talking about 2016 here, and Hillary will win in a landslide. Regardless of Obama's performance in 2014-15 (see, I can count). If Germany and Britain can have female leaders, so can the USA. People do want to see a female prez, for the novelty factor alone. On top of that, Hillary is the most capable candidate on either side. She will run, and she will win.

• I fully believe Hillary will run if she is healthy enough, and hopefully, win. But no can take their health for granted as one gets older. It's true Gore has baggage (as does everyone). What matters is how one handles that baggage and whether your opponent can take advantage of it. I've always thought Hillary would be a great president, but I didn't used to think that of Gore. However, after seeing him the other night on the Daily Show, I've changed my mind. I would be happy with either one of them.

• Look at Chuck Hagel this week. He seemed like a 66 year old of my great grandfather's generation -- scatter brained, incapable of forming a coherent sentence.
