OMG. I have heard about ASMR videos for people to listen to if they have insomnia as it helps them go to sleep, but I have never seen one before today. I have been listening to various ASMR videos on You Tube today for the first time and they are addictive.
I am so stressed out by my work and on high blood pressure meds and wish I'd found these sooner. They are totally relaxing and remind me of that feeling I had as a kid when someone whispered in my ear and I got shivers from their whispering.
I think I'm going to experiment with listening to them before I go to sleep.
Are these considered fetish videos? They are strange but so comforting. (The guy who uses soft crinkling noises with paper was also fascinating.)
Who is considered the best ASMR speaker? I found one woman whose video was viewed 5 million times who must be one of the stars in the industry.
This shit is fucking weird and the people who do the videos are even weirder.
I kind of felt that way too, R8. But I have terrible insomnia and actually read about ASMR videos in Oprah's magazine so it must not be totally off in the fringes.
It's very calming but it is strange, no doubt about it.
This Russian woman makes me want to fall asleep talking about thunderstorms and kittens and admittedly it is flat out STRANGE to listen to her. But I feel like I just took a valium when I listen to her.
It's weird, but it sure as hell helped me with my insomnia.
I like the "Water Whisperer."
Bumping this thread because I just discovered these. I agree with the posters above - they are relaxing and addictive but some part of me is creeped out by the fact that I really like this ear porn. (The "role play" is especially strange...and yet I watch)
