No surprise: Katie Couric's daytime talk show has been renewed for a second season. Her daytime show is one of only a few success stories among new entries this season in syndication. Disney-ABC Domestic Television announced the pickup at a Miami programming convention Wednesday, touting the show as this season's most-watched newcomer, averaging 2.4 million viewers. "Hosting, producing and launching a show from scratch has been challenging but very rewarding," Couric said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to working with our terrific team to build on the success of our first season, and continuing to share compelling stories, explore important topics, and create entertaining television for our audience." Couric got a ratings bounce with last week's interview with Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o about his phantom girlfriend. Yet freshman Steve Harvey, renewed earlier, ties Couric among the core daytime audience of women ages 18 to 49 for the season to date.
