Bay Buchanan quits politics: "I can't just live my life going on TV and being angry all the time"
January 28, 2013
After losing a bruising presidential campaign, most aides take a vacation. A few nervous nellies begin looking for work with other politicians.
But Bay Buchanan, a top Mitt Romney lieutenant who's been involved in politics ever since serving as treasurer of Ronald Reagan's 1980 campaign, saw last November's loss as a signal to get out of presidential politics.
"It was so tough. It was brutal," she said of the loss to President Obama. "I think it's the toughest because we really expected to win it," added Buchanan, a former Treasurer of the United States who also ran her brother Pat's three campaigns for president.
"I thought to myself in November, I have another career in me," Buchanan said. So two days after the election, she started an online real estate course and now has her sales license and a firm: McEnearney Associates Inc. in McLean, Va.
Buchanan told Secrets that she will soon have her Maryland and District licenses too. "I've lived in all three," said the Washington native.
A lifer in politics, Buchanan said her background will help sell and negotiate real estate deals. "Being somebody that they kind of know will be a real positive and, as you know, I'm just a charming person," she said. And, she added, "compared to what I did in the past, this is an easy sell."
While Buchanan plans to keep her nose in political issues and will continue to give speeches, her famously combative TV debating days are over for now. "It's so negative and TV is more difficult than ever in the sense that it's really not an honest debate anymore," she said.
"I can't just live my life going on TV and being angry all the time," said Buchanan, author of the well-received recently released book "Bay & Her Boys, Unexpected Lessons I Learned as a (Single) Mom."
So - she admits to being nasty and lying then? If it's not an honest debate, then she's admitting something.
Hope her brother can do the same.
I have to admit that I have enjoyed watching her on television. She seemed to offer more than most talking heads.
She authored a book about being a working single mother. Yes, even Republicans have single working mothers
Has anyone ever seen Pat and Bay Buchanan in the same room at the same time?
The look alike. They think alike. They share a house. Do they share a closet?
I'm just sayin'!
What a crazy pair!
"Would you buy a used house from this woman? "
Lesbian Mormons are good at that sort of thing, I heard.
She retired to become a full-time lesbian.
[quote]"It was so tough. It was brutal," she said of the loss to President Obama. "I think it's the toughest because we really expected to win it,"
KKKarl Rove convinced them that he paid all the right people to fix the election. It's no wonder they expected Romney to be in the Oval Office when you consider the millions the paid for expected vote tallies.
She was probably tired of getting dermabrasion. Her skin was horrendous before she became a talking head. I wonder if she and Andrea Mitchell traded derrmatology tips.
That she expected to win shows how removed from reality that hateful bitch really is
Retire my ass. She'll be there to shill for the next homohater with enough bank
Are Mormon lesbians good at selling real estate?
[quote] "It was so tough. It was brutal," she said of the loss to President Obama. "I think it's the toughest because we really expected to win it,"
bwhahahahaha. How delicious is it that Obama won?
[quote] "I think it's the toughest because we really expected to win it," added Buchanan.
Another mean-spirited, delusional Romney supporter who helped to create an enormously devisive campaign but who decided not to pay attention to the public and the changing attitudes and demographics.
Bay honey, besides the fact that everyone without a college degree usually ends up selling cars or real estate, you got in way too late.
Being a political hack means your customers know who you are and since you were sooooooo one sided you have lost half of your clients right off the top.
I would not give you my house to sell at any price. Then again, at least 6 of my gay friends are realators so its a mosh pit anyway.
Whats up with that bitches? Why are so many of you into real estate? It's like the gay version of being a hair dresser in the 80's.
She's been lined up as Witchie-poo for a new ABC Family version of H R Pufnstuff. Bitch is smart. She's just hired an acting coach.
[quote]I have to admit that I have enjoyed watching her on television. She seemed to offer more than most talking heads.
She was less hateful than Mary Matalin, but she still had a few screws loose.
The entire Romney campaign was run as a surrogate "Love Boat" episode for has-been Republican wonks
with Ann, the cruise director much better than You People deserve
Gopher Ryan, the klepto yeoman purser who is bad at math.
Bay is not a real name.
Is it a Welsh name meaning "delusional"? You really expected to win, Baybala? Having a demented idiotic delusional brother named Pat you thought the republicans would win with Mittens?
[quote]The entire Romney campaign was run as a surrogate "Love Boat" episode for has-been Republican wonks
In a sense I think the Romney campaign represented the end of an era for a lot of older Republicans who had grown up in the Nixon & Reagan eras and assumed it would be business as usual.
People like Bay Buchanan and John Sununu were used to engaging in Lee Atwater style racist tactics and were surprised when they didn't work.
Too bad you didn't have this epiphany 35 years ago, bitch.
I believe that her first name is Angela. One of her sibling's couldn't pronounce "baby," so it became "Bay."
She'll be back in less than a year.
Maybe Pat can make scented candles.
Not necessarily, R23. I think the older generation of Republican strategists is becoming washed up, like Bay.
I think in 2016 they are going to bring in a new team.
Mormon? Isn't she as Cathlic as her street fighting Gonzaga grad bro?
Real estate? another rip off profession.
I thought she was Catholic too. Not sure why some people above think she's Mormon.

She became a Mormon in the late 1970s.

You can't be serious? What a numbnut she is.
I think after her divorce, she returned to the Catholic Church.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
