Filmmaker question...

Have any of you guys made a film and taken it to film festivals? I've just finished a ocumentary about a small town. Any tips on marketing and distribution?

• well you have to submit to festivals that you can make industry contacts at if that is your goal. get a without a box account (www.withoutabox.com) which will make it very easy to manage festivals you submit to, they can screen your film on-line for acceptance and awards - is it a short or a feature length? I have been on the staff of a very large and academy qualifying festival for several years now, but I'm no expert - you need to talk to other film makers and see what festivals they have played and can recommend - good luck.
